I just slept for 13 hours instead of getting back to posts like a good writer. Shame. Shame. Shame.

nyctophilia (n.); the love of darkness or night - finding relaxation or comfort in the shadows.

Good day, my lovelies! I have finally managed it - my very own Interest Check! This is an Interest Check composed specifically for those craving a little excitement, a little darkness, and a little of the unknown. I will be stressing this throughout this entire thread - if you have a plot, or even a vague idea of a theme and want to share it with me, please do! I may seem like a picky little shit as you read this check, but I'm really just craving a good ol' 1x1 with someone.

Lets talk a little about me... I'm a 21-year-old Scottish degenerate that tends to interject inappropriate humour into situations at the worst of times. I see myself as being a high-casual to low-advanced writer and my posts tend to vary from 2,000 words to only a paragraph or two depending on my partner and the current status of the roleplay that I am taking part in. In case you can't already tell, I have a particular attraction to the darker aspects of roleplaying. I love dark realism, especially the kind that explores abnormality, or even insanity, through themes of romance, crime and drama. You like that too? Hit me up.

What I expect from you...

Okay, yeah I know rules are boring; but in my eyes they are a necessity. I'll try to keep this as light-hearted and positive as possible so that you aren't put off by my rambling.

- Commitment. There has been a countless number of 1x1's that I have taken part in and been left wondering why my partner isn't replying. Yeah, I get it, sometimes the spark just fizzles out and dies - but it is common courtesy to let me know if you're losing interest. Who knows? We could even completely start again, or just go our separate ways as friends.

- Characters. I am not one to be picky when it comes to what character(s) I play, however, I would like to express the fact that I find I am more comfortable in playing female characters when it comes to the kind of complex, intriguing plots I have in mind. Don't let that put you off - I am completely open to play male characters, I just may not be as skilled at roleplaying as them as I would female.
↳ On that note, I expect all characters that are a part of this experience to be well-thought out and actually contributing to the story. One of my biggest pet peeves is a helpless character - I am not interested in those submissive ragdoll personas that bend to the 'dominant' character's every need. They are boring, predictable and tend to be pretty annoying.

- Romance. Please please please do not message me asking for a lovey-dovey story full of rainbows and happy endings because that is pretty much the opposite of what I am looking for. Yes, I am certainly interested in romance being a factor of our roleplay, but I want to explore real relationships with heartbreak, drama and possibly some psychological abuse thrown in too.

- Pretty things. This is not quite a rule, more of a preference of mine. I love it when a post or a character sheet looks nice. Whether everything is colour coded, involves gif's or fancy fonts, or is just not your typical drab wall of text; it will most definitely show me that you're willing to make an effort into roleplaying and at least have a sense of what you're doing.

Right, after me going on and on about expectations and roleplaying, here's the bit where you discover that I have no idea what I'm even looking for. Just kidding. I think you've figured out that I like the weird dark stuff. For the time being, however, I do not have an abundance of specific plots in mind for us to choose from. I would much rather you messaged me, told me what you're up for and for us to work it out from there. I do, on the other hand, have a list of fandoms that I enjoy which might provide for you a vague idea of what I'm looking for:

Well... I think that's it for now. If you're in any way interested in roleplaying with me, then shoot me a PM! I'd prefer it if you didn't reply below, just because I will most likely not see it. Cheerio!
Idk why, but I simply LOVE your name, @Moriarty. I don't really know why, but I feel I already saw I somewhere, and I simply love how it sounds.

Haha, thanks xD I got it from Sherlock - one of the main antagonists' name is Moriarty.

interactions: none
location: hotel lobby

It seemed like there was quite a crowd gathering in the lobby where Scarlett was sat. Studying them in the reflection of the glass in front of her, she otherwise gave off the impression that she couldn't care less whether they were there or not. From their point of view they would see a slender figure with long, poker-straight platinum hair perched on one of the stools of the bar. What they could not see, however, was the glass of red liquid in front of her - already half empty.

As the intercom spoke up, a brief glimmer of a smile graced her crimson lips. Perfect. New friends. Bringing the glass up to her lips, she almost choked on the blood she was about to swallow as a squeal of pure delight bounced off of the walls in the lobby. Instead of maintaining her usual grace, Scarlett whipped around to have her eyes land on some sort of woodland being. Her eyes flashed, literally, with anger as her peace and quiet was spoiled by some little girl. With her lip curling up in disgust, she grabbed her glass and moved to a seat as far away from that ruckus as she could get. She had no time for weird and wonderful hybrids. She felt most comfortable around those that she was familiar with - the regulars, like herself.
@SouffleGirl123 I specialised in English in my school years, and a long time ago I roleplayed on another site. I've been part of the odd 1x1 here and there for the past few weeks, too. I'm not an expert by any means, but I wouldn't say I'm new to the creative writing world ^^
