What’s your name?
Nadia Romanhoff is my real name, and i don't really have a alias- people call me the golden spider though. I guess its the color.

How old are you?

What do you look like?

this is.. what i look like. i wear different kinda clothing usually, but i look like this most of the time. sometimes i wear a pony tail? i dunno what you want me to say honestly.

this is my spider costume! i made it myself- i love it. I wanted it to be dark in color but have accents that fit my vibe. Really accentuated the fact that I don't really stay in the publics eye much

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?
I've always been 'the life of the party', ever since high school. I was.. popular, to say the least. I had a lot of friends, i still do- i just had a lot more.
I got bit in my senior year. I was reaching a great point in my life- i knew what i wanted to do, and i had friends and fun that i enjoyed. Everything was going well, hell i got a fucking girlfriend. I was at a party- everything was fine. It was fun, but i was just having a drink and.. a spider dropped down and bit me. I freaked out a little- i felt sick, but i just thought i was overreacting. i mean, I've always had a dislike to bugs.
I left the party early, my girlfriend Seo Chin-sun took me home and she slept over to make sure that i was okay. I mean, that's a plus, right? Anyways, when i woke up, everything was weird- i was sticking to things and stuff and i was kinda freaking out- Seo was there too, freaking out with me, because it was really weird. I mean, who wakes up and then suddenly you don't even need your contacts, and you stick to everything and create WEBS from their wrists? Nobody, that's who.
Seo was the one who helped me through everything- Especially when my dad died. He got mugged one night, and he apparently was taking too long to get his wallet out. I hated seeing his body on the concrete- bleeding out. Hell, i ran after the guy who killed him. i.. i almost killed him.. um.. anyways, she.. she made me realize i could be a hero like the ones i kept seeing, the other spiders. Seo didn't want me to get hurt though, so we compromised- I try to keep myself in the dark and save the people who need saving. the people who arent seen. The minor and daily. So i can use my abilities for good.. and not get me or my family hurt.
Seo is like the girl in the chair- Whenever i go out, she goes on comms and helps me a little. While she isn't a nerd, shes happy to help. She's the heart behind the operation, and i adore her for it. She knows a shit ton about martial arts, so when i got my abilities she helps and teaches me. Honestly, we're always hanging out these days- at least ever since i became the golden spider.
Ive been doing this for a while now- i work with my girlfriend and we tackle crime and helping the community, staying in the shadows so i don't get my friends and family don't get hurt. I don't really have any villains, i do have a couple groups who want me dead, but.. they're not that important, we're staying as safe as we can.

Powers and Tech
I have some basic things- i have organic webs produced from my wrists, got the good ol spider sense, better eyesight- and i can camouflage! Its one of the things i like best- makes me being, well, in the shadows, a lot easier. I don't know what spider bit me, it was just some weird spider.

Do you believe in aliens?
I mean, i guess?

What are your goals for the future?
i want to pay the bills- and don't tell SEO, but.. i want to move in with her. We already spend so much time together, it would only make sense if we moved in together.

You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
the city is alright, its a lot of fun for parties and doing stupid shit, but god knows this place isn't the party house its put up as.

How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
well, technology not related to being a vigilante? All the time. I like social media, and i like catching up with the news and even to see the few photos of my sitings- its really funny some times!

What do you like?
i really like fashion, which seems so stereotypical for.. well, who i am, but i do love it. I also lovvee biology, specifically marine biology. I dunno, i love martial arts. love my girl friend. Sorry, I've said that a lot. My bad.

What do you dislike?
i.. have a fear that one day someone will find out my identity. Find out who my girlfriend is and hurt her. Thats why i try to keep on the down low- so that she's safe. That im safe. Uh, on a much less serious note, i genuinely hate bugs. I also hate getting my hair all messy, its so annoying.

Do you think true evil exists?
... not really. I know people can be horrible people. So many times, people believe or do things that are truly evil. Some actions are true evil. But.. nobody is true evil. Actions can be, but no person is true evil. Everyone has a reason why they do something, and most of the time they might think that they're doing the right thing. Seo has to remind me of that often though- i forget often. Some people feel like true evil, but.. Seo reminds me the true. God, i do talk about her a lot. I owe ozzy so much money.

What’s your favorite color?
orange! I love wearing red though.

Favorite song?
Space ghost coast to coast by glass animals! I love glass animals in general, but i really like this song the best.

Uh.. I'm an only child?

What are your thoughts on these people?
Seo Chin-sun - My girlfriend! Shes the best girlfriend i could ever ask for, and she.. she compliments me so well, and I'm so happy to have her.
May Romanhoff - Myy mom. She tries her hardest, ever since dad died, but i love her no matter what.
Alex Romanhoff - my dad. he died a while back.. its been a bit of a struggle, but ill.. ill get through it.
Other Spider-folk - I.. don't really care about them. I feel like some go for the large crimes and done really stick around for the underground shit like i do. They go for robberies and big villains and forget how many peoples lives get ruined by the little things. Thats why i stay to the shadows- i don't want to get adicted to the spotlight and forget about the people I'm actually trying to protect.

I just want to say, the twin rivalry over Felix before just leaving him behind is kind of funny. Definitely, something Sam would hold above Felix's head if she ever found out.

I might add more into Sam's backstory to give more insight into her vigilante days.

Oh! I think Sam would have fallen victim to the kind of rumors that went around our local Spider-man and when they had teamed up together for the first time, I think she would have been under the impression that he was a more morally grey vigilante such as herself until he kind of explained that it wasn't him kind of thing LOL

Likewise Caty would've loved to see her turn to the good side. She can't really judge her methods considering how she started out, but she hopes she continues to grow as a hero as well.

For sure! Most of them operate by pairs for efficiency or solo if needed. I feel like it would have amused Sam greatly to see her grow once they start occasionally working together.

If you want, I can see Caty being able to recognize her fighting style. Sam changed a little bit (has no guns) but there are moments where someone can recognize her own style.

That's a good question. If it was during Caty's first year it probably wasn't so nice. She was going through it and was taking her grief out on the bad guys. But she'd still hold back because they were human. She calmed down more in the second and third year.

Oohh gotcha gotcha, I can definitely see Sam goading Caty as much as possible to get her to slip up so Sam could successfully escape with most of her limbs still intact. Probably had to be treated for a lot of broken bones after though LOL

If need be to escape, Sam would have definitely tried to "shoot" towards a civilian to get Caty to put more attention there, though Sam would have aimed it slightly off to ensure no extra casualties.

@King Kindred No rush especially since you're helping a friend and all but I was wondering how do you think Sam and Caty's initial interaction went back when Sam was still working as a villain?

Because back then, since Sam was more human than super in terms of physiology, Sam definitely used guns more and that would be some juicy conflict when everything comes to light?

What’s your name?
My name is Oliver Raulot. For the last year and a half, I've been living a double life as Argyros. But the public only ever calls me The Sea Spider. Unfortunately.

How old are you?
Somehow, I've made it to twenty-three.

What do you look like?
A friend of mine used to say I was doomed to eternally look like I just pulled an all-nighter. That was before I got bitten, since then, I've gotten in better shape, and gotten much worse sleeping habits.

My costume is slim, designed for minimal resistance both on land and in water, with webbed gloves to help me swim faster. The material is similar to a diving suit, but the tensile strength is superior. It's kind of a little too slim honestly, but I don't really have the cash to redesign it.

What's your story? What was it like before and after becoming a Spider-Totem?
I'll try to skip to the juicy bits. I grew up in Chicago, living as what could dystopianly be referred to as 'upper lower class'. Meaning I was poor, but not at risk of losing my home. Middle child of three, I was the quiet one. My family loved me, but they had no idea what to do with me, other than take me to the lake. I used to swim down as far as I could, trying to hold my breath longer each time. Damn near gave my Mom a heart attack. We'll trim the fat and skip to the good stuff, I went to school, got some friends, met a girl, it didn't last. The friends didn't either. I decided I was done with Chicago, went to college in New York for Marine Biology.

I wouldn't say I was a prodigy, because I don't like the implication that it was natural talent instead of hard work, but I graduated without any issue, apparently I did well enough to net me an internship working for Doctor Curt Connors, a geneticist with a lot of eccentric ideas. But I liked eccentric, it was new, and it was exciting. So I was on board, studying on a boat for months with Doctor Connors, some of his colleagues, and two other interns. To my surprise, I became fast friends with them both. Becca was in the field of chemical oceanography and had a razor sharp wit, I made sure never to make her mad. And Tyler was a motor technician, and was about as easy-going as they came.

Since I was the intern studying biology, I operated directly under Doctor Connors. It made me realize I was working with a legitimate genius. He had all these projects.. studying diving dell spiders to imitate their ability to collect air bubbles, he had this idea to use the cells of alligator gar to replicate their unique swim bladder's oxygen filtration abilities, these ideas that just seemed so beyond possible. But I was right there, seeing him make real progress. We had done good work, and were wrapping up the expedition, headed back to New York. Nearly in the bay, and everything was right as rain. Up until someone screwed everything up. I still have no idea if it was sabotage from a jealous colleague, corporate espionage, or just a stupid mistake. But some chemicals got swapped, and when me and Doctor Connors were in the lab, we were ground zero of a chemical explosion.

It blew out our engine, and left me and the Doctor in bad condition. They phoned for help, but before it got there, the both of us.. changed. I caught a dosage of our diving bell spider experiment, it altered my DNA. I was the lucky one. It changed me, but not nearly as much as it did Connors. the alligator gar DNA wasn't as stabilized as the diving bell, so the result was a lot more extreme. He became a monster, nearly killed us before help arrived. Then he dove into the water. I'd like to think it was his humanity, deciding to flee instead of attack us.. But I don't know.

What was I doing, with my brand new abilities when he attacked, you may ask? Hiding. Like a coward. I left Becca and Tyler to die, it's a miracle they didn't. I'll skip over the crushing guilt and the brutal pity-party I had for a while afterwards. Both out of a lack of necessity and to preserve some shred of dignity.

So anyway, I'm a vigilante now. See, I might be a coward. But I can take responsibility for my actions, I'm not turning tail and running anymore. I have the ability to help, so I will. It's been a while now and the people I'm fighting are getting meaner, stronger, they aren't just thugs anymore. I'm starting to feel like I'm out of my depth, but I'll keep treading water.

Powers and Tech
From what I gather, I have what one might consider the standard spider suite. Superhuman physique, a sixth sense, and a heck of a lot of agility.

But I'm more.. I don't know a positive word for it. I'm more mutated. My hair changed, it's a little bit coarser now, head and body, It's become that of a diving bell spider, lets me trap oxygen bubbles between the strands so I can stay underwater for a long time. I can swim fast, really fast. I'm not sure if the other spider-people can too, or if that's just me.

Oh, and my webs are organic, come straight from the wrists, as disturbing as that is, it is a huge boon, because I don't have any gadgets. I'm not that kind of scientist, after all.

Do you believe in aliens?
Yeah, but I think we ought to be worried about what's already here on earth.

What are your goals for the future?
Find Doctor Connors and cure him, which will hopefully lead to me escaping this dead-end job. Beyond that..? I really don't know. I can't do this forever, but it feels irresponsible to quit.

You lived in New York for a while now, right? What do you think of the city?
I feel like it's given me Stockholm Syndrome. Staten Island and Brooklyn are my haunts, and I've gotten nearly killed in both places more times than I can count. But I still feel a connection to it.

How much technology do you use on a daily basis?
It's the modern day, it's impossible not to use technology daily. I like analog when I have the choice, but it's usually not convenient.

What do you like?
Despite several traumatic ocean experiences, I still like freediving a lot. I listen to a lot of instrumental music, it helps me focus. If I didn't like marine biology I wouldn't have bothered studying it, so I like that. And I like street food, the cheaper the better.

What do you dislike?
As of recently, alligators and alligator-adjacent things make the top of that list, both dislike and fear. I've never liked coffee, either. Not a fan of my job, I spent too long on this degree to clean tanks!

Do you think true evil exists?
Yeah, call me a pessimist, I guess.

What’s your favorite color?
Purpley-blue, I dunno the names of colors. Sorry.

Favorite song?
"Chicago" by Sufjan Stevens. I miss home sometimes, cut me some slack.

Anything else to add?
Sea Spiders are not actual spiders. The fact that I keep getting called 'The Spectacular Sea Spider' drives me up the wall. Argyros rolls off the tongue just fine!

What are your thoughts on these people?
Other Spider-Folk: Eugh.. I dunno. Maybe I'm just an ass, but I kind of resent them. I mean, in a way they're my inspiration. But also, and I know it's stupid, but it feels like the second they come onto the scene, the world goes crazy. It's not fair to hold it against them or blame them, but.. here we are.

Doctor Curtis Connors: I feel like Ahab chasing my white whale. He was my mentor, and I learned so much from him. I respect him a lot, and I want to help him. But he's also terrifying. He's a semi-aquatic alligator gar monster now, and I've seen his teeth puncture solid steel with barely any strain.

Becca & Tyler: I care about them a lot. They are my best friends, the best friends I've ever had. Our friendship is.. messy right now, that day on the boat complicated things. I want to be a better friend to them, but it's hard when I have to split my focus on vigilantism.

If Sam ever had a run in with Black Cat during some sort of heist, they likely would have worked together and just kinda shook on it and went on their merry way. If they ever met during her vigilante days, she probably let him go after making him cough up his winnings for the night XD

And also, Sam has constantly been on Kingpin's ass for the fun of it.

And it would've been interesting had Sam crossed paths with them. Maybe even during Caty's initial solo run.

She would be honored and find it a little funny that he would be inspired by a more violent spider person than the other more famous (and more moral) ones XD. And also, I imagine that they would have all met each other at one point or another and Sam would definitely comment about the cool webs considering she never made her own LOL.

Maybe! The group was definitely the kind who went in, did what they had to do, and got out with as minimal casualties to others as possible to avoid detection and violent grudges. So if they did cross paths, Sam probably only fought until she could properly escape without being tracked.
