Lance didn't expect anyone to take being suddenly tugged along to react calmly and the girl with him reacted like he expected. She was basically foaming at the mouth like an animal, despite her not being an obvious faunas in any way, to try and get out. Still, Lance had a hard grip on her so she couldn't go. He still needed allies and when the prospective members walked away, the chance of them coming back was low. She seemed lonely, too. Granted, everyone who would come to the school without friends would be lonely but a few of the ones that were memorable from the ship got a friend to bunk with for the time being, at least.

Lance frowned as the boy who had his attention simply started walking away. It was a little disappointing but it gave some information about this boy already that Lance would have to remember. He wasn't the most social type, like half of the other more interesting students present, and he was more like a depressed loner. Lance could label himself as a loner but he wasn't depressed or anything of the sort. On the contrary, he was simply a...watchful loner and was more merry than some others that were here.

When the girl noticed the boy walking away, Lance let the girl so since she was looking like she was about to blow a fuse. It was more evident when she was easily being the loudest person in the room, with who was left anyway. A good amount of the new students already made their way out to where they were directed, so the girl's voice echoed more or less. Lance calmly put a hand on the girls shoulder, sighing.

"Come on now, that is no way to greet someone you don't know. How about you just quiet down for a moment and let the boy go. He may end up coming over at a later time but I don't think I would be too keen on coming back after being so verbally assaulted." Lance wasn't going to go up to the boy after what the girl had done.

"You know, I have a question. What is your name? I know we haven't been formally introduced yet, so I suppose introductions are in order finally. I am Lance."
It's not abducting, just forcibly keeping them close. XD
Jeez, I missed so much. I get insulted, too.
Lance isn't as much snatching the kids as he is...just getting his bases covered, in a way. And Lance has to have guinea pigs, I MEAN friends after all.
I'm bringing this back. Bump. Only accepting a couple for a couple of weeks but will pick up a couple more after that.
Well, I think he did his job well, then. I think his character is coming out well so far.
"My story? Good question if not a stereotypical retort but judging by your egotistical attitude. Well, I am not very good at telling others, not that I am very fond of it in the first place, about my life or any information about myself. I will leave you with one thing, though, that may interest you. Other than being oh so very jealous of your perfect life." Lance made sure to put a little bit of emphasis on the last part, as to make it sound like he was subtly mocking her. If she would notice or not, or how she would react, would probably be a show in itself.

"Simply put, I am someone who grew up in an average place and eventually things went wrong and then I ended up here. I don't think you need to know much else, especially since I don't think I will ever need to tell you much more. Come on, though, let's see about others that need to be put in a group." It wasn't what Lance personally wanted on his first day of school but it would be good to have at least someone around so he didn't go insane from being alone anymore. Putting on his smile so long seemed like it was plastered on by now, too. Good thing since only rare events could make him seem anything other than joyful.

"Look at that boy, there. All by his lonesome like the loner and the rich brat. Let's go." Lance was referring to the only one that already wasn't with someone else, the boy closest to the stage who seemed to be more like a lost puppy than someone who actually belonged in a school for fighting Grimm. Lance put his arm around the girl's neck and pulled her toward the boy, waving at him while walking closer and making sure his 'hostage' didn't escape.
I'm still here.
Lance was a silent observer of both the students and the headmaster while things that were supposed to be exciting happened. Granted, Lance expected more since not all students here were very confident and the headmaster's speech was not very reassuring. Lance, on the other hand, was more than happy to be confused on the outside as long as it didn't endanger his own well-being. Unfortunately, some of these students seemed to happy to pull out weapons like they were nothing more than toys. That was definitely dangerous to everyone's well-being. Not too much in school but if trouble were to show itself outside of the school's watchful eyes, there may be more chaos than what was expected.

"Well, look at how diverse these kids are!" Lance could kind of see a few students he met outside, one being the boy with the sniper rifle but it was only because his weapon itself was quite large and it towered over most students, including the wielder himself. Lance didn't get names, or would really have any reason to remember them at the moment. After all, it's not like it was vital to his own personal needs. He noted at a girl being basically pushed out of the crowd, not surprising since she didn't really fight to stay inside, to his own silent slice of paradise. She came over and started up a conversation and gave Lance a label as well.

"Loner? I am not that in the slightest. I am merely watching, observing, until I need to interact with others. I do not merit bad behavior, either. I simply wanted to gather information if I needed it for...future reference. Unfortunately, you and that other kid were taken over by someone with a high amount of skill themselves." Lance was making sure to choose his words carefully, as not to give too much away from himself but keeping his happy demeanor.

"What did I think about that? I assume you mean what was just said. Well, it was rather disappointing. Can't blame the guy, though. He must have said it quite his fair share of times, so he probably is a little bored with repeating it." Lance didn't listen too intently on the speech, catching things that sounded important but discarding anything that wasn't worth remembering.

"Why aren't you with a group? I would expect a girl like you to be with others, rather than by your lonesome."
Leaving poor Lance all by his lonesome self to chill. Everybody is so busy, though.
Lance kept his stance at the entrance of Beacon, seeing everyone was starting to gather. He would have to go as well, soon. For a minute, though, he wanted to get a feeling of what kinds of people he would be dealing with at the school. Most didn't even give him a glance, either because they were with friends or because he was a Faunas. Humans were the most racist, even compared to other Faunas. There were some extremists but most were more or less accepting because they didn't want to give off a bad image for themselves. It made sense but the normal people were much more bold and didn't care about giving off a bad vibe.

"Excitement just seems to fade just as fast as it forms. Oh well." Lance kept his distance from the others but eventually had to merge with them, slipping in without much problem and riding the wave to their destination. Must have been almost time to start with introductions and all the academic things. Lance wasn't sure how this would go, since he got here by fooling his...foster home owners. He couldn't call them 'parents' no matter how much he tried at times. Not going to Signal and only coming here by their reputation, which meant they were good for something, didn't prepare him for this kind of environment.

The others that Lance remembered.were all socializing with someone or another, which put Lance on his own unless someone else was going to start a conversation. He didn't want to butt into someone else's. Lance silently pushed himself from the crowd and to a much more temporarily spacious section of the room they were in, wondering exactly how filled it was going to get. There weren't that many students but maybe ones that were already here would come as well. There was no telling.
