It was a relatively quiet evening in the city. The only sounds that broke the silence were the cars returning home from their evening shifts on the street below, or the occasional dog barking in the distance. The sun rested lazily on the horizon, painting every color from burning orange to dark navy across the cloudless sky. The moon hung suspended in the sky overhead, but no stars could ever shine through the city's nightly light show, already coming to life despite the early hour.

Most of the busy city-folk had either already eaten dinner, or were soon to begin the preperations for it. James was no exception. After a busy day at the nearby studio where he worked, he had quickly made a bee-line towards his appartment. For a bachelor in such a situation, a quick-and-easy microwave meal was often standard fare... but James had a secret he'd never admit to any of the guys he worked with.
He liked to cook, and he wasn't bad at it.

However, just as he started preparing the beef, rice, and greens that would comprise his eavening meal, he was interrupted by a loud knock at his door. With a glance at the ground beef browning on the stove top to make sure it wouldn't burn the appartment building down, he made his way over to the front door, curious to know who would visit him at this hour.

When he opened the door, however, he was surprised to see what looked like a tawny-coated wolf sitting at his door with a note taped to its forhead. He blinked at the sight, then snorted a short, quick laugh.

"Silly looking as it is, I suppose a note on your face is certainly one way to garner attention to yourself... Wonder who left you here?" He mumbled to himself as he plucked the note in question from its resting place, smirking to himself as he glossed over it.

The note quickly detailed the circumstances that had left the apparently abandoned canine at his door, politely pleading him to take "CC" in, as her previous owners couldn't take care of her any longer with a child on the way.

He shook his head and glanced at her. "Well, that rules out anyone in the office... Maybe someone in the building, then?" He wondered, then simply shrugged and grinned broadly. "Well, doesn't matter in the end. Guess I can't really complain, since I wanted a wolf, and now I guess I've got one..."

He hesitated slightly, then crouched in front of her and gave her a serious look. "Not sure if she's exactly tame or not, though... Guess the fact that she's not in a cage 'n hasn't ripped my throat out's a decent indicator, though..." The smell of burning meat broke his concentration, however, as he realized he'd left his meal alone for just a bit too long.

"Shit...!" He exclaimed quietly, quickly forgetting all about the wolf at his door and the note in his hand in favor of dashing over to attend to his swiftly burning meal.

Genkai said Now let's jump in...

I'm quite surprised (in a good way I think) to see his Corrector appearance have non-human characteristics. Very cool, I think. Granted when say the horns get hit, it would translate to his ears getting hit in the real world, etc.

Should I assume he is from America if he was raised as one? Or was he in Japan, just raised by say American parents who moved to Japan? I accepted an American character against my better judgement and well, it ended up being a dud so I'm really against accepting characters who are from overseas. It can make unnecessary barriers, be them cultural or language/upbringing wise.

Since "Norse" influences him, I'd love to see how it plays into his development and mindset. You mention he's a bit violent by soft spoken/shy, but then also brave. Is there a change in him that occurs down the line, from say when he discovers tech to when he's at his present age?

in terms of bringing your character in, it depends if you can change his origin a little, since as I mentioned, having characters from the same place is really going to keep everyone glued together. Now whether he's from another part of Japan and transferring, or if he's been with the group on/off for a while...can be decided. I think dealing with the bureaucracy will just get a bit taxing if we bring a non-native in, though the last option would be to bringing in someone who is, say, of European decent and on a year or two leave of absence from their duties in JPN while away, working with say another Gvn for a limited time.

While I was thinking about it on my own, I considered having him move to Japan alone at around 18 to attend colleges there... but if you prefer, I can certainly keep things simple and append his character sheet to say he was raised in Japan rather than America, as you said.

As for your next point, while I believe that literally anyone can be brave, I still think I'll change "brave" to "poised" on his sheet. I just couldn't think of the word I wanted when I wrote him up. ^_^;

However, I would like to mention that I never intended to imply that he's shy, because he's really not. While I did say he used to be very introverted, and implied that he can still be so on occasion, I never actually meant to say he's shy. There's a slight difference between the two in that as shy person actually finds it difficult to interact with people, while the introverted simply don't have much desire to beyond what is necessary.

(AKA Brandon or Brad)

Alias in the DgtWld: Celtic_Knot
(AKA Celtic or CK)

Age: 21

Average Appearance: Brandt is usually slouching slightly, but still measures six feet tall and onehundred seventy-nine pounds. He has dark hair and blue-grey eyes. He prefers dark, unadorned clothing and sometimes wears thin, simple silver chains around his neck or wrist. He tries to keep the numerous scars on his hands covered with gloves, but does nothing to hide the star-shaped scar over his left cheek bone or the smaller one adorning his right eyebrow. He has several tatoos on his chest, back, and shoulders, each featuring a different design of celtic knot or rune script.

Corrector Appearance: In the DgtWld, Celtic_Knot stands with his back straight at his full height. This fact combined with the horns adorning his avatar making him look around 8 feet tall.

Weapon of Choice: A pair of long, bladed tonfa with rune script along the blades.

Cell Phone:

Personality:

+Poised
+Intelligent
+Loyal
+Kind
-Stubborn
-Secretive

Background:

Brandt is the son of a Japanese woman and a man descended from Norsemen. He is the eldest sibling of a brother and sister, as well as two half brothers after his parent's divorce and remarriage. For a few years, he and his full brother and sister were raised as patriotic, christian Americans... However, somewhere along the line, Brandt lost a measure of his respect for that way of life. Because of this, when he was old enough, he chose to return to his mother in Japan and free himself from his father's stringent sense of morality. For years, this caused issues between him and his father... But eventually, the man came to accept that he could not change his son, and came to respect the boy's decision in spite of his inability to understand it.

The rest of corrector's youth was often just as difficult as his home life. He was often picked on for his thin frame and poor eyesight, causing him to become severely introverted. This made the boy bitter and jaded long before he should have been, but eventually, he met a girl that brought him out of his jaded views and icy shell, as a few young boys are fortunate enough to do. She was new in town, and didn't know the boy's unfavorable, sometimes violent reputation. Instead, she came to know him as the kind soul he hid behind the cold facade others knew.

The two were inseparable for those few short years they were together. Soon, though, the girl had to suddenly move away with her family for reasons neither child understood, leaving the boy behind. For a short time, the boy felt betrayed by the world. Hell, perhaps this was even the reason he grew to spite his father's country and religion, sparking his desire to return to Japan and declare his citizenship therein... but that has long faded into obscurity.

It wasn't until after the girl left that he was properly introduced to and intrigued by cellphones and the internet as a whole. He got his first cell at the age of 12, and learned that he already possessed an MChip. With the internet at his disposal, and a vent in the form of music, (both writing and listening,) the onset of what might have evolved into depression was prevented.

Years were spent in the therapeutic embrace of music and knowledge. Naturally, this led to his pursuit of his own musical ability. He taught himself how to operate a synthesizer, and earned the money to buy one himself. He joined his middle and high-school bands. It might have been this connection to music that brought him to the attention of the Japanese GVM, or it might have been his ability in various sports and martial arts, but he neither knows or really cares. Now in college, he further pursues music, hoping to better his own rhythm, tempo, and melody, and get his music noticed.

Posting interest, assuming a slot is still open. Given that I'm not informed otherwise in the interim, my character sheet will follow shortly.
I'm not particularly used to posting interest in a thread. Still, if you find yourself available, I've sent you a PM.

Also, the narrator I have seems to read my screen name reasonably well, but please feel free to call me Rise if you prefer.
