Dwarves, elves, halflings, humans, orcs and goblins, dragons and demons, all of these types of creatures inhabit this world.

@Shikaru Not entirely sure, but I wouldn't think so. Of course, GM will have the final word on this, it's just I don't think it's likely.
While Tobias had this gut feeling that he wasn’t going to stay here for long, it was not because he was expecting an invitation from the emperor. And while someone else might have followed up with the letter, because it had the royal seal, Tobias couldn’t stay without pondering. He knew that he was noticed, brothels were places where people learned most about the riches of the people. It wouldn’t be much of a surprise to Tobias, if some sort of thieves’ guild housed themselves beneath the very stones of the building. Tobias was vary because of this and didn’t fall to trust the letter in an instant.

He was pushed outside by the lady, because he had to be on his way already, to not miss these adventurers. Once outside, he took a good look around himself. He checked for every alleyway which he could use to run away if he is suddenly jumped by a few thugs. Killing a person on a road wasn’t as bad as killing one in the city. Cities have many eyes and someone would still learn, that it was you who killed this person. So running was the only option at this moment. But the weather wasn’t making it any better, for running on a slippery ground like that could’ve meant whether or not he would manage his escape.

No-one came out jumping on him, so he rushed between a few houses, into the darker alleyways, to hide from the rain and study the contents of the letter more thoroughly.

“If this is a legitimate calling, then I still have a day, because they aren’t going just yet, but this still doesn’t sound attractive at all. Offering us huge amounts of gold for our services? I didn’t know that the emperor did that. It’s as if it’s been written to sway me into going to this place, where I could get mugged. But the seal looks really well done. I can’t put my finger on why would someone go to such lengths just to invite me out to the open like this. This just doesn’t make sense! If they’re really traveling to Paron, they will have to meet me there.” Tobias rolled up the letter and got out back to the streets.

He knew the road from the capital to Paron pretty well, but he didn’t trust himself to manage to go there without a horse. He went to the stables, where he bought himself a horse for journey to the city north of the capital. With his new friend, a black mare, he rode out through one of the few gatehouses on the northeast of the Sharu. As he was walking through it, he looked at the intricate architecture of the gatehouse. This gatehouse was one of the three gatehouses that were unique. On both sides it had two huge dragon skulls, hanging and overlooking every person on the road to the gatehouse. The gatehouse itself was much narrower and taller than all others. “I should read up about this. I wonder who built this.”

The storm started around half an hour after Tobias had left the Sharu. He encouraged the mare to ride a little faster and put up a cloak on his head. It’s was going to be a few horrible and pretty difficult days for him and his steed, but he had to make sure, he was going to be able to get to Paron first, before the ‘adventurers’ did and keep an eye on the road while there. “If the letter turns out to be false, then I’ll figure things out in Paron. On the other hand, if the letter turns out to be true, then I will gladly join these adventurers. If an emperor is gathering up a group of adventurers, I think something grave is up. And the only thing that comes to mind at this point is…” he sighed. “Slysari.”

With those words, he once again encouraged his mare to ride even faster.
If I was any good at chit-chat I would, but neither my character, nor I myself know how to/enjoy that too much.
“The capital if full of filth and corruption. It rubs off on everyone here, whoever they might be. I really hope that my visit here won’t take long.”
Tobias said under his breath. He was just by the eastern entrance of the capital. The huge towers of the gatehouse fired up into the dark gray skies. It is a windy day and the flags atop of the towers and wall railings are flapping non-stop and guards, patrolling the walls seem to wear cloaks today.
“Seems like a big storm is coming, this does not mean well for traveling.”
He sighed.
“That much for a short visit for supplies.”
The wind did not cut his skin as much inside the city, where he was surrounded by tall building made of stone. But the stone gave the city a cold and bleak look, combined with the horrendously gray sky, in which the first thumps of thunder could be heard.
As the thunder started booming, the whole city suddenly started to rush around, woman gathering up the drying clothes and calling the children home, men flailing about with their own businesses. The outside market stalls closed up and all the trading only happened inside the respective shops. The world seemed upset for some reason, as if the end was coming. And by the rumors, the end was coming. Something in the forests, ‘Slysari’ was the name Tobias heard mentioned all around. The world consumed by the shadows, the rumors said.

Despite the feeling of unrest and melancholy around, he marched through the lower parts of the city in his need of supplies. Merchants gladly sold their wares, even at a little lower rate, because it was getting more difficult to sell everything.
“It is not going well for us, merchants. People do not travel that much these days, trade caravans are not moving, mercenaries are increasing the price of their services and bandits have taken residence along the roads. It’s a bad time for us all. Hopefully, we will climb out of this hole, as I don’t like it one bit.”
The merchant went on talking about the problems they were facing recently as Tobias was putting everything into his backpack and pouches.
“I’ve traveled alone for some time. I haven’t ran into any highwaymen.”
“Well, I mean, look at yourself. A group of five people would have difficulty fighting you. No wonder they haven’t chosen you as a target. We, merchants, travel with much more valuable resources and items, and we’re much easier prey for them. So taking on us is much more worthy for them, than taking you on.”
“Thank you.”
Said Tobias and went outside of the shop, to the merchants surprise at this rash behavior of the human.

It has started to rain lightly and Tobias took the example of the people around and increased his pace and found himself a tavern. He was a little bit late, for the tavern was already packed and there was no place to even sit down. He slowly pushed his way through the people to the counter.
“I take it you’re all booked?”
“Ya’ sorry lad. The upcomin’ storm got everyone sittin’ ‘ere. Well, that’s good fo’ us, not as good fo’ ye. Ye’ just got into the city? If ye’ really need a place fo’ the night, I offer goin’ to ‘Mossy Jug’ just down the street, they must have a room or two free.”
Tobias put a few coins on the counter and pushed them towards the man and nodded as a thank you. On his way out, he noticed a fight going on at the end of the tavern, but he had no time to see to it and just went outside.

The rain had started to pour down really heavily already and there were barely any people out in the streets. The streets, who looked rather lively just moments ago now looked barren, with one or two beggars sitting under the roofs that provided them with shelter and dim lights shining through the windows. Finally reaching the ‘Mossy Jug’ he entered inside. He wasn’t surprised to see that this wasn’t exactly a tavern, but more of a brothel. He was welcomed warmly, with few of the girls taking a good look in his direction. Not often a client who isn’t fat or completely ugly would walk in here. To their disappointment, Tobias didn’t come here for the pleasures of lust. Coming to the counter, he put his hand up, before the girl behind the counter could speak.
“I’m going to pay double the price of your girls, all I need is a room for tonight. Would that possibly work?”
“No, that’s not exactly how this works, but for a price of three girls, I might just make an exception. And only because you’re a beautiful lad as well. You’re an eye candy for our girls.”
“That works for me.”

After paying for the ‘three girls’, he went inside of the room and sat down. The moans of pleasure, pain or even disgust could be heard coming from the surrounding rooms, but it was the only warm bed that was easily accessible for Tobias. He locked the door and started taking off his armor, but a feeling in his gut told him that he wouldn’t be staying here for long. So he sat down, with his armor on his body and meditated to rest himself after his travels.
Living in Lithuania, it's UTC+2 here. At the moment it's just past midnight here.
Name: Tobias
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Tobias is a tall fellow, he‘s around 6 feet 8 inches in height. He‘s got wide shoulders and a big, muscular build. There is one huge scar, from the back of his neck, to the bottom of his back.

He prefers bulky and big armors for traveling, but he does get into cloth robes for various rituals and healing procedures.
While being somewhere in the middle of the time of his life, he still moves around and lives as if he has just hit his adulthood.
Class: Cleric
Job: A wanderer. He used to lead a mercenary company called Water Ambers.
Weapon of choice:
• Sword of the Water Ambers – During the time, Tobias led the mercenary company, they had swords made specifically for them. They have runic engravements, without runic power imbuement. The sword itself is a light, medium length claymore.

• A Scythe “Silence” of the Water Ambers – The only scythe that has been made for the Water Ambers and used only by Tobias. This scythe was made by the best blacksmiths and mages around. It’s imbued with magical powers, which makes flora die and decay, and flesh to be destroyed. At this point in the story, the scythe has been lost.

Personality: Calm and collected, rational most of the time. Because of this, he can make decisions when other people might be doubting, and take all the consequences onto himself. A thinker, not a talker. He’d rather stay silent and wonder about the situation by himself, rather than involve himself in conversations. He will, if he has no other choice or the situation require him to speak.

While it might not seem so from the beginning, but Tobias is empathic and he enjoys helping other people around him, even if he doesn’t express himself and his joy too much. Being taught by the clerics from the young age he has taken in their virtues and while not necessarily holding up to them himself at this point, he tries to spread the words of the clerics to the world.

Background: Tobias is an orphan. He was left by the gates of an orphanage almost right after he was born, without a single note on him. No-one knows who put him by the gates, nobody has seen him being given away. His parentage is lost to everyone.

In his youngsts, he has shown a particular interest in reading and learning, especially in botany and medicine. He was the only boy that tended the gardens around the orphanage and even if he was made fun of by other boys in the orphanage, he kept at it. “The gardens had never looked better!” he heard people say and that was enough praise for him to stay focused on his work.

In his teens, he usually got into fights with other orphans because of his botanical work, and he lost most of the times, because other boys were just stronger than him, as he was rather slim. Because of this, he decided to work not only on his mind, but on his body as well. He figured there had to be a balance between those two powers. With time, he got a little bulkier and a little bit stronger and once he started to win the fights other orphans initiated.

And just like that, working on the gardens, reading and studying the worlds around him and training he has reached his adulthood. He left the orphanage and sought the knowledge of the clerics and joined their order. There, he has learned the arts of healing the world around him, both living and non-living. Cleansing the lands of evil and curses, restoring life to plants and wildlife. His studies didn’t go for long, because after around seven or eight years he suddenly disappeared from the order. No-one but Tobias knows why he deflected and ran away.

The fear was, that he’s going to use his knowledge for wrongdoing, and while Tobias himself didn’t think that what he was doing was bad, his reputation got worse between the clerics. On the other hand, the mercenaries and wanderers, who didn’t have a place in a world started to look up to him. He was Father Tobias of the mercenary company the Water Ambers.

Water Ambers were different from other companies. Where most of the companies were ruthless and uncontrollable, the Water Ambers were complete opposite. They did everything calmly, they finished their tasks and never took more than what was promised. To become an Amber one had to go through a trial put up by the Father Tobias and he chose who was worthy and who wasn’t, which is why the Water Ambers were so orderly.

The Water Ambers were one of the best and most popular mercenary company around, they even had a House of the Ambers set up in one of the bigger cities. They had smiths and tailors working for them, making armors of weapons for them. It almost had become a full-blown branch of religion.
But as suddenly as they had appeared, just as suddenly they disappeared. Rumors were going around that it was destroyed internally and the order that the company once had was destroyed and beyond restoration. But those were rumors and no-one really know what has happened.

After this, Tobias went out into the world to wander and help people in need.
Other information: The biography is what is known about Tobias life from other people. A huge part of his life and motivations are shrouded in mystery that only he knows.
So, I was advised to post the character sheet's here, and I will do just so.
@SuperTacticalDerp
