"Yup, made it to orientation just in time. Hit it off with a bunch of other students too." Said Abigael, as a lay relaxed in his dorm bed. This was of course, a lie, as he arrived after orientation, and headed directly towards the dorm to unpack and relax. For an entire day. He figured there was no point in leaving the dorm if there weren't any classes to go to or assignments to complete. His mother called to see how he was handling life at the academy the day after he had arrived. "Uh-huh, finished classes a while ago. You called me in the middle of an assignment, actually. We're hunting uh... A thing. I forgot the name of it. We're still looking for it." This was another lie. He had stayed in his dorm the entire day up to this point, faking a stomach ache so he wouldn't get dragged to classes. He took a hand full of chips from a bag at his side and shoved them in his face. "Huh? Oh, that's me eating. We're taking a small break to eat. Gotta keep that energy up, right?" He proceeded to take a large swig of soda, trying his best to make it sound like he was drinking from a water canteen. After a while of listening, he choked up a little. "Huh?! A report already?!" He had forgotten all about that deal. If he wanted to keep using the glaive, he needed to send regular reports back explaining how Beat and the glaive behaved. "R-right, yeah, that's no problem. Yeah, I should definitely have a lot to report about after this hunt! Totally! Uh..." He started shaking the chip bag to make a rattling/rustling noise. "I gotta go mom, there's something in the bushes, talk to you later!" He hung up and sighed. Cripes... He knew he had to do something, and his parents would definitely see through a false report. If he was going to last at all in the academy, he needed that weapon. Guess I should start looking for some work... He jumped out of bed, brushed himself off and looked at the time. Classes are about the end. Thankfully he had showered beforehand. He waited a few minutes for classes to properly end, and made his way down to the entrance lobby of the main building. Jeez... All these missions sound like hard work... He sighed. He didn't like the sound of any of them. There was no way he was going into a dangerous environment, so the blighted woods was out of the question. Plus, his parents are expecting a report of how the glaive fared again a large monster, so the fire rats weren't gonna make the cut. All that was left was the cockatrice... Three people recommended... Where am I gonna find two other chumps to... His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a loud crash. He looked over and saw a group of kids, one of them looked to be a girl that threw a punch, and one seemed to be a boy that received it. Well I certainly don't plan on scamming her. He continued in thought. Cockatrice... Group... Cockatrice... Group... Eventually those words started repeating, until he realized that he wasn't thinking them anymore, he was hearing them. Another group of kids had been talking about grouping up to hunt the cockatrice. Four kids in total, as it seemed. They had already started making their way towards the teleporter. "... Perfect." He accepted the quest from the board - At least, he thought he did. He didn't quite understand how to use the board, but continued anyways. If I just follow these guys, I can jump in the battle and join 'em. There's only for of them anyways, so a fifth member shouldn't be too troublesome. I'll just hit the monster a few times, let 'em do most of the work, and bam! Easy peasy. I'll have a report to give, I'll hopefully come out with a few credits and materials, and I'd be doing minimal work. Abigael waited a while after the group teleported away, so that he wouldn't be caught following them. He then hopped in, and immediately ducked for cover as he flashed onto the island. He spotted the group heading for the cornfields, and followed after them. He waited just outside the field, where he had a clear view of them. What the hell are they doing? They're just standing there doing no- He then heard a loud roar that made him jump. A few moments later he saw the beast heading straight for the group. Perfect! Now to just wait while they rough him up a little... Abigael looked onto the group waiting to see how the battle turns out. Durig this time, Beat emerges from the blade and begins buzzing around, zipping back and forth around Abigael. Abigael stared at Beat for a while, wondering why now of all times did he come out, but he sighed and looked on, paying no mind to the mechanical bug, but now looking towards the fight with a more concerned face. That this IS really big... Maybe I should just help now... He continued to stare, debating in his head if he should jump in or not.
Name: Abigael Quint Age: 15 Gender: Male Themesong: You Will Know Our Names (The only good quality version I can find is the extended version, sorry.) Class: Glaiveknight Appearance: Abigael (Basically imagine this but less beefy.) History: Abigael grew up as a fairly weak child. He did not have much stamina to run great distances, the speed to keep up with others, or the strength to perform much actions. He was, in his home town, known as the weakling of the town. Because of this title, his blunt and sarcastic attitude, and his feminine sounding name, he was often bullied by other children, and even mocked by adults. Unfortunately, Abigael was not the brightest person either. He had average grades, and average intelligence, never exceeding expectations. Despite all the bullying and all the remarks from others, he never particularly hated himself, or minded his disadvantage in life. In fact, he was happy with only meeting the bar, never standing out or being a star student. While Abigael was happy with his life, his parents were not particular happy. They would attempt to push him, to get him to try harder, to go out and exercise, but he always either found ways out of his task, or did a mediocre job at the task. Upon growing up, his parents grew concerned. They hoped that one day they could somehow get Abigael into their line of work as Exbeast researchers, who focused in weapon creation using Exbeast design and materials, but he was shaping up to become something else entirely. As a final effort, Abigael's parents brought him into their line of work, to observe what they do and what the career is like. On that particular day, they had brought in the corpse of an Exbeast to research and collect parts from, in hopes of creating some sort of weapon. Unfortunately, the hunters that captured the Exbeast did a poor job, as they only damaged the beast to near death and mistook it for dead, when it was simply knocked out. The researchers learned this fact the hard way, when the beast woke up. The center was in chaos, as the beast thrashed about and attacked any and all that it saw, leading to the deaths of many. Abigael's parents were forced out of the room via the mob of escaping researchers, leaving Abigael confused and alone with the Exbeast. They could do nothing but watch through surveillance cameras as Abigael struggled to dodge and find a means of escape, believing that this would be the last time they would see their son. However, this was instead where they witnessed something surprising - Something Abigael was actually skilled at: Adapting and quick thinking. For a while, Abigael could do nothing but dodge and panic, but after a few moments he quickly gathered his surroundings and came up with a plan in a matter of seconds. He saw a weapon that was in development in the room - Something another group must have been working on before the chaos ensued. A glaive, that looked to have something attached to it. He also noticed multiple heavy wounds on the beast, ones that the beast would often grasp in pain. Abigael acted quick - He grabbed the weapon without, and upon touch, the item attached activated. A bug-like machine started flying around Abigael, zipping around back and fourth, looking at him as if waiting for an order. Abigael took a chance - he pointed at the weak spots of the monster with the command to attack, and the bug obeyed. It stabbed at the beast with a blade that emerged from its body, and began glowing an odd color, causing the beast to stagger. The bug then returned to Abigael, and inserted itself into the glaive, sharing its color with the weapon. Abigael felt a sudden surge of energy, like something he never felt before, and for some reason, the beast was slowing down. Its attacks seemed to be delayed, and Abigael's speed seemed to have increased. Abigael wasted no time and began striking at the beast with flurries of attacks and dodges, back and forth, directly into the beast's already opened wounds, until the beast fell, properly dead. Immediately following the Exbeast's defeat, researchers (Abigael's parents included,) flooded the room with cheers and and congratulations, thanking Abigael for stopping the beast before it could do much damage. His parents were amazed by their son's ability to notice and use the beast's weak-points to his advantage, and also his ability to use the experimental weapon. They knew immediately what their son was meant to do, but they wanted to make a few preparations before speaking to their son. A year later, at the age of 15, Abigael's parents presented the finished model of the glaive to him, expressing firm belief that he was more than capable of using the weapon, and of fighting Exbeast. They assured Abigael that the rest of the research group believed the same, agreeing to give the finished glaive to Abigael, on the condition that they received regular reports on the weapon's behavior, with the advice of using the bug on the the corpse of a beast the next time he fights one. They then proposed the idea of attending AcadeMMO to Abigael, explaining that this was the place where all great fighters and heroes start, and that Abigael would certainly grow to be one of these heroes if he attended. Abigael, saw this as more of a demand than a proposal, since he was already enrolled by his parents. Abigael didn't like the idea of his parents enrolling him without his consent, but he was fine with joining the academy, believing this career was as good as any. With his belongings packed up and his bug companion (Who he took to calling "Beat" for the sake of convenience,) buzzing around him, he got on a train to the academy, hoping the assignments wouldn't be too bothersome. Statistics: Level - 1 HP - 150 (15) MP - 150 (15) Attack - 12 Magic - 16 Speed - 14 Accuracy - 16 Defense - 0 Evasion - 19 Resistance - 0 Spells/Skills: Tag 'em, Beat! [2] - Abigael sends out Beat at a specific part of an enemy, stealing an aspect and applying it to himself. He gets a temporary +10 stat boost in a certain stat, depending on the enemy and what Beat attaches itself to, while the enemy gets a -10 to that stat. Does a pitiful amount of damage - 1 multiplied by the level of the skill. Adds another +10 to the bonus and -10 to the enemies penalty per level. 7 meter range. Costs 10 MP per level. Command is the skill name. "Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures!" [1] - Abigael uses his glaive as a vault to launch up into the air, where he aims to land on the enemy. If the enemy has lower evasion than Abigael's accuracy, he hits his target and jams Beat into them, getting a level 1 version of the "Tag 'em, Beat!" skill, while also getting a few hits in with the glaive, doing 10 damage per level. If Abigael misses the target, he lands on his face and takes 10 damage. Costs 10 MP per level. Command is the skill name. (Really sorry about the walls of text. I might have gotten a bit carried away. ^^;;)
Thanks for the welcome! I hope I can contribute well to the RP!
Hi guys! I don't mean to charge in here and be rude, so sorry if I am. I was just wondering if its okay if I join? Also, is it cool if I pitch a character idea here before posting a full sheet?

No problem! Sure, we'd be happy to have you, and you can either pitch your character here or PM it to me, whatever works for you!

Thanks! The biggest concern I had was my character's combat ability being a problem. Basically, he's a glaiveknight that's actually kinda useless at the start of the battle, but has an "essence draining" ability on his glaive (A magic drill, a mechanical magic bug or what-not) that shoots at certain parts of the enemy and steals certain aspects, and gives it to him, making him hit harder, or take more hits, or move faster, or perform more complicated moves. The power doesn't last forever though, and sooner or later, he'll have to steal another essence to keep fighting efficiently. Basically, if you've seen the insect glaive from Monster Hunter, then you know his ability! Is that okay?
