Sev was about to reply to Dr. Long when Paul started pecking at Kali. He turned back to the doctor, held up a finger, and said "One moment, doctor." Sev whispered into Kali's ear and she smiled. Sev turned again after pulling out his book. He pointed two fingers at the man who was running at him.

"VILAR."

Kali fired a strong blast from her hand, in the direction Sev pointed. Sev, after the spell, collapsed to one knee. He looked up at Dr. Long, "Well... May I come in? I wanted to discuss a few things before I was rudely interrupted." Kali looked back at the duck Mamodo and his partner. Great. They drained Sev, meaning he'd be out of commission for quite a bit.
The theme is just something to loosely base your spells around. For example: Metal would make sense to have a form of magnetizing spell. Lightning or electricity could also have a magnetism spell because of physics (charged particles and such). That being said, the mods will check it out and let you know if something is too far off of the theme.
You just challenge them in the IC. How you go about challenging them is up to you, be it an attack, threat, etc.

If they don't respond after a while you can just mention them in the OOC and ask "what's up"? Or some thing of that sort.
Kali and Sev had worked their way back into town, where a few other battles were going on as expected. Kali repeatedly would try to pull them into one, but Sev would refuse each time it was brought up. He wanted to fight, but couldn't if he didn't have the energy. The mystery of the second spell still haunted his mind though. What did it do? Waiting to use it in battle may not be a good idea since they could use it improperly, but until they could get alone, spell testing would have to wait.

Kali was a good distance ahead of Sev and yelled back to him, "So, I can feel some Mamodo nearby, do we want to check any of them out?" Sev snapped back to reality long enough to answer her question, "See if you can pick up on one that isn't fighting. I want to talk, not kill... Yet." Although she wasn't thrilled with the idea, Kali agreed.

The trail was hard to follow, as they hadn't cast any spells recently, but Kali soon lead her book owner to the home of Dr. Long. He was fairly well known, or at least Sev knew of him, regardless though he knocked casually on the door. "Remember Kali, we're not here to fight. Don't provoke them." Kali sighed, frowned, and crossed her arms as if she was going to throw a fit.
Accepted. ^-^ Man now we have one for each the Light, Dark, and the Void. NICE!
Yeah, we're still accepting.
Sev and Kali watched the pair flee deeper into the forest. Kali frowned and looked up at her partner. "Why did you let them go?! You had a perfect opportunity to burn their book!" She folded her arms and looked down at the ground. "I didn't even get a good attack on them..." Kali pouted.

Sev opened the book and flipped to the newly readable page. "Those times we did attack drained me of energy, Kal. At least we got a new spell out of it." Although he was curious of what the second spell actually did, Sev wanted to wait to use it. He felt as if he could only pump out one or two more spells. The endurance of casting spells would come in time, but for now that was all he could manage.

Kali quickly snapped out of her mood and looked around frantically. "What was that?" She muttered. Sev looked around as well, "what?" Kali looked up at him then pointed back at the town, "someone else is fighting. Lets go check it out." Sev nodded, "we're not getting involved though. I need to build up my strength again."
@united -.-
Sev stared blankly at the man, "Alliance? As in I help you?" He pondered the idea for a minute. I could help him, that's for sure. Channeling emotions into the spells are basic techniques. What could he possibly do for me is the real question.

Before Sev could reply, a loud shriek came from Kali. She darted out of the bushes and latched onto Sev's leg. "Kali, what did you do?" Sev hissed. She slowly moved her eyes up to meet his and softly spoke, "Kill them." Sev only sighed then looked up at Jack, "I don't see how I could benefit from that. You'd only keep Kali from winning battles." He pulled the book out of his bag and carried it under his arm. "And I will not let you get in her way."

The book under his arm began to glow, as Kali detached herself from Sev's leg. "Yes!" She exclaimed, "The second spell!"
Ok, I checked them out and they're totally fine. :3 @Duthguy
