The First 40

Life Lesson # 1

Life is like a wooden platform, in many ways;

it seems large at first, but once explored, it can get boring really fast;

it seems like you have so many choices at first, but then you realize that all of them eventually lead to the same conclusion, anyway;

it seems incredibly solid and everlasting at first, but jumping on the same spot over and over will eventually wear it down and plunge you through to oblivion.

And sometimes, it's best to simply sit at the center and do nothing but dream.

Life Lesson #2

Dreams are an extension of reality, but reality can only be found at the end of a dream.

Life Lesson #3

We come here... because inspiration never comes to those who actively seek it.

Life Lesson #4

If you have the luxury and the time of worrying about the black queen at the side of your enemy, then worry about protecting the white queen at your side instead, first and foremost.

Life Lesson #5

Courage is not the absence of fear or despair; rather, it is the strength to defy both.

Life Lesson #6

Good friends are like stars: you may not always see them, but you know that they are, and always will be, right there.

If life is just a game that tries to bring me to tears, then all I have to do to win is smile.

A man should not be expected to do more than what is his duty, but a man should never shirk from doing more than that which he is charged with.

The more we chase away after the world, the further it gets.

Therefore, it begs a question: should we stay and wait, or should we continue to give chase?

Sometimes, for the sake of our meeting, I must choose to let them go.

It is a sad thing that many brave souls will not live to see the future they fight for.

And when you say your good-byes, you don't actually tell them you're leaving - just give the indication that you might not see them again, ever.

And we must realize that to see their resilience as admirable is, indeed, something worthy of respect - but their ideas can not, should not, and should never be heeded.

Maybe; maybe so. But look - there is no one who would ask why I should come to love someone, and, therefore, no one should ask for a qualifier as to why I hate someone.

Woe to the person who lives by leeching life from others, for he neither acknowledges nor understands the value of the time he has been given, or the amount thereof, for his mind is drowning in self-pity.

Hope and despair come hand-in-hand; it is up to the afflicted to choose how to play with these fickle playmates.

Sadly, we cannot choose when and where we meet that end... But we can choose how we meet it - so that we can be remembered, as men.

In a world where the impossible is nothing, the simple becomes unreasonable.
