))The Dentist sighed. This was going badly. He followed them to see how this would turn out, he just hoped none of them would die.

"I guess I got no choice, but before we go in shooting all of them, we need to know a few things, specifically weaknesses. I saw the spikes that they had for arms, I'm thinking those are about as strong as steel, and they could easily deflect a bullet." he said.
The Dentist walked over to the Cremator, and put his hand on the gun. "Put the gun down. We don't know anything about these things, we need to find out about them without killing them."
"Ok, you put down your gun," he said to the Cremator. "You don't go run off and hide in your TARDIS," he said to the Physicist. "You stop being angry," he said to the girl. "And all of you, help me think of a plan!" he shouted to all of them.
"The Doctor was thousands of years old. We're still young, with almost no knowledge of much of anything." he said. "These are psychopathic cannibal aliens. And why are you in such a bad mood? You have no reason to be mad or angry."
It's been a while since I watched Doctor Who that wasn't season 7
The Dentist stopped the Physicist. "Cmon, we're born to do this!" he said. "If we don't, then many lives might be lost. And that would just be a waste of the Doctor's teachings. Remember, he's dead now, and we're the only ones that can do anything about it."
You can use a gun, but the Dentist and most of the other Timelords are gonna make sure you don't use it when its possible to do something else
