Once away from her house Bethany rode her bike furiously, relishing the feel of the wind against her as though she should have been born with wings. The main route to the Library seemed dense with fog for some reason. Avoiding this deathtrap waiting to happen, Bethany pedalled away in another direction. She could go through the park and take the long way. But even though it was longer, the way to the park was clear and the soon strange fog was nowhere to be seen. But there were some odd people around. A girl was sitting on a swing-but wait. There was something odd about her. Bethany couldn't look away, even though it might have seemed rude. She kept her eyes on the white-haired girl as she got closer. Unfortunately this cased her not to notice the larg rock in he path. Soon she found herself separated from her bike, laying on the ground with the wind knocked out of her. She really needed to start wearing a helmet.
Well, thank you. I wonder if Lyra is around. Maybe Bethany should detour through the park & meet Miyuki.
Sounds like a plan. My schedule is pretty goofy, so I can't say when I'm definately going to be on throughout the day, but I'll warn you when I'm falling asleep.
Holy posts! I fall asleep and then com back 12 hours later and you guys are 34 posts in already. I don't know if I can keep up...
Bethany had just finished her breakfast when she yelled to her dad in the living room that she was going to go ride her bike. He told her to be safe, and reminded her to take her phone. She enjoyed the freedom of the weekends so much. Sure, her schoolwork would pay off and she enjoyed learning new things, but sometimes Bethany felt like she just needed to play and imagine and let her mind wander. It was something her dad didn't quite understand. She wanted the rewards of growing up without actually having to grow up and be boring. She wanted the car her dad promised to get her if she did well in school, but she wasn't looking forward to being responsible enough to drive it. In any event, she walked her bike out of their nice suburban home and took off in the direction of a great place to let one's imagination get some exercise; the Library.

I don't know how well she'll work with everyone else being older. But I think she'll make an interesting addition. Approved.

YAY!
Name: Bethany Thorne

Age: 15

Species: Cambion (half-demon)

Personality: Bethany has lead a relatively normal life, but she's been sheltered. Because of this her demeanor is usually happy go lucky, and she gets along pretty well with others. However she has no sense for danger, remaining far too trusting and somewhat naive.

Abilities: (She remains largely unaware of her abilities so far, and will not be able to control them at first.) Using Hellfire, Opening/Closing Portals, Hexing (Spreading Negativity or even Sickness), Effecting Occult Phenomenae (Such as Ouija Boards) and Commading Flies

Job: Student

Bio: Bethany was raised by her father who never really explained what happened to her mom. He always seemed to pained by his memories for the girl to really ask much without feeling bad. But the reality was much more complex than she could have imagined.
Her father had hoped to keep her safe from what she was by keeping her ignorant of it. Before he came to raise her, he had been involved in dark cults and strange mysticism. But he left all traces of that life behind him for Bethany's sake. He raised her with all the love and encouragement a girl could want. But he also used his care as an excuse to keep her away from dangerous influences.
Not only did he do his best to keep her away from things scary, demonic, violent or sexual, but he also kept her away from religion, and anything like religion. Because he knew that every belief system had it's own form of magic and he feared the effect that such things might have on her. And so he raised her to put all of her faith in science, reason and logic. Because if she didn't believe in any gods, she would also have no reason to believe in their enemies. Nor to take them seriously should they manage communication with her.
A strange way of dealing with the situation, being fully aware that her mother was the daughter of the demons Beelzebub and Erishkigal, but Jonathan Thorne found that his strategy was working. His daughter had a good life and no reason to be concerned with her mother's side of the family.
I'd be interested in a little political/intrigue driven adventure.
What era did you have in mind? Christian Rome has a distinctly different feel from Pagan Rome, after all...

Who is the emperor? How powerful is the senate? Who has the centurion fought against? What is his reputation among those who are not close to him?
