You should definitely give the Union a response to that last message though. They are telling your people that their government is willing to sacrifice their lives for a few men (and with your lack of response to the deadline, that's what it looks like). If that's not the case, you should at least say something.

Oh dang. I didn't see the deadline part. Oh well. It would have been a negative response anyways, not an affirmative one. Thank you for your support in how I play, too. I'm personally waiting to see how some of my regular orders for 1865 roll out before I consider surrendering, for all of you who are calling for it OOC. I'll be able to tell you more about it once they come out, but by then you shall probably already now. Basically, I made some story building orders that I'm afraid might not have gone through had I surrendered.
