Yeah that'd true. I was just thinking that Abby doesn't have any combat training in her background so I'm wondering how I'm going to have her fight Sonya after failing with the nunchucks.
I'm gonna have fun messing with her. But I think it'll be good cuz I've decided that for Abby's character, she's gonna gain her fighting skills through sheer determination and hard work rather than being a prodigy. Its the most fitting for her background anyway.
That was the initial joke Le and I had agreed should happen to Abby. She hits herself then Daisuke tries and also hits himself. Afterwards though... not quite sure how Abby's gonna hold up.
When Hertha returned with the first aid kit, Eva went straight to work patching up the red-haired captain. She did just as Handel had instructed earlier and dabbed ointment all over the worse of Eden's wounds. Then she bandaged him up while she listened to Hertha introduce herself. Honestly, Eva would have never guessed she was a giantess. She had seen quite a few of them during her travels with her deceased uncle and knew they were a lot taller than she was. Still, she claimed to be the daughter of a famous giant pirate and she wasn't dumb enough to challenge the woman's claims.

Once she was finished bandaging the captain up, Eva packed up the medical equipment before standing up. She heard Handel say he wanted to hear everyone before introducing himself. Another smart decision.

"The name's Eva Solkreuz. I'm a bounty hunter who's specialty is hunting pirates," She eyed Eden for just a moment, "However, I have made a deal with your captain and will be working for safe passage to another island. So for now, I will act as this ship's sniper. I prefer rifles and pistols but I know my way around a ship cannon. My navigation skills are adequate and, as you have seen, I have some first aid knowledge. I also have wind powers thanks to the Kaze-Kaze no Mi." The logical side of her wanted to add on that she wasn't particularly good at her wind powers yet, but her pride held back that information. There was definitely no reason to tell them, especially when she didn't know if they would remain an ally throughout the entire journey.
Sonya simply sidestepped Jak's initial attack, sighing in exasperation when she saw the teen hit herself with the butt of the gun. As sad as it was, it gave Sonya the much-needed information that Jakki was not a gunslinging genius and that she picked the weapon on a whim. "Before you shoot at me again, try holding your gun with both hands." She ended up saying, feeling just a tad bit sorry for her. She also made a note to not try and dodge this time around. The first dodge was truly just out of habit and Sonya wanted to see how Jak's aim was, even if it meant getting a painful welt on her body. Afterwards, she'd go on the offensive and see how well her hand-to-hand combat was, if she even had any training.

Abby physically flinched when she saw the gun slam against Jak's face in recoil. That had to hurt pretty bad. She wondered why the girl had picked such a dangerous looking weapon before her eyes traveled to the make-shift armory on the opposite side of the hole. There was no point in holding it off any longer; she was going to have to step up to fight eventually. Everyone was trying so hard to beat Sonya so they could have their wish granted, or she assumed. But after seeing all the bouts, Abby knew there was not a chance in hell of her winning. Yet, she couldn't back out now. Vector's words were still fresh in her mind and she wanted to at least prove she was a contender for the Sun Guardian position. She still wasn't sure why she wanted it so badly, but she wanted it.

Walking out from behind the wall, Abby made her way to the table to inspect the weapons. A few were familiar to her while a lot weren't, making them even more dangerous in her eyes. She hesitated to even touch one, afraid that she might cut herself on something. Finally, her eyes settled on a pair of nunchucks. She had seen them used on television before and from what she remembered, they didn't have anything sharp on them. Maybe that was a safer bet? Taking up more courage than necessary, Abby reached out to grab the nunchucks. Grasping the smooth wood under her sweaty palms, the blond made her way back to the others instead of her old hiding spot behind the hole. She couldn't show any more fear, no matter how much her knees were shaking.
It looks long on my phone, but I was wondering if you intentionally had Cyril forget that Abby has to fight too.
Yay!!
Yay for using classroom lessons in real life situations!!
I still feel pretty bad, but thanks.
