Vera ran her fingers over the steering wheel as she listened intently to Rhea. “Maybe this isn’t so bad, then. Luke will be alpha and the pack will be run better. And he can get me out of this engagement with Rick.” She liked the girl. Vera had barely spoken to anyone about the Beta and her relationship before, but here she was admitting things would be much better if the marriage was cancelled.

It was too quiet, too stressful to sit in silence while they waited for the fight to end. “So. You and that big guy, the one that brought us here. You together?”

Luke felt like he was winning until he felt a searing pain right above his heart. The wolf whimpered in pain but quickly retaliated with a bite to Jaii’s neck. His teeth didn’t sink terribly deep, and the wond he’d received not moments ago made him easy to push off. Blood seeped through his fur as he was pinned to the ground, his kicks and slashes turning offensive to defensive. He wanted to end it now, he always gained the upper hand against Jaii. Besides, even if Jaii was winning he would never give the final blow, right? Luke kicked back at Jaii’s lower stomach, hoping to tear at a tender area that would make him fall back. It was his last move, and if it didn’t work then he wasn’t sure what to do next…
Claire Abbot sighed heavily, looking down at a tiny note that had been given to her not an hour before. It held a single name and address, nothing more. Less than a week from that moment she was expected to have extracted quite a bit of information from a certain Mr. Calvin Baker, or at least made initial contact. Military personnel. A higher up that, if she played her cards right, would get her where she wanted to be. He could give her endless possibilities of insight on England’s plans, which meant her cover-up of cheating, though socially damaging, must have shown she could be trusted to take one for the team.

Only problem was this marriage would put more focus on her being unavailable than she liked. While she may still be a virgin, Claire hadn’t exactly expected it to stay that way for very much longer. This probably would have been the man she’d be willing to give it up to…for the sake of her job, of course. But now it was her that would be married. There were pros and cons to this, hopefully she wouldn’t be recognized, or the man wouldn’t care.

With one last look at the note Claire stood up and ripped it to pieces, tossing each shred in the trash. She wouldn’t forget the name, nor his home address, and she would get on it as soon as possible. The bad part about receiving her new objective was that it put her in a rather foul mood right before her meeting with Nicholas. He was due at any moment, and while she was physically ready, her mind wasn’t in it. Claire had chosen a simple pink dress that wasn’t nearly as fancy as the ones she normally wore out, short gloves, and her hair was up. A servant had suggested wearing something extraordinary to meet Nick, but the girl had only received a glare in response. She was not going to dress up just for him.

After a final glance in her floor length mirror Claire went downstairs, to make sure everything was being prepared. “I’m sure the Rochfords will want some tea, have that ready to be served before lunch,” she instructed, going to sit in the library as she awaited their arrival. Her stomach felt a little tight. Was she actually nervous? How silly, he was obviously faking his attraction for reasons unknown to her. There was no reason to care at all about this meeting, except to make her father happy and work out something quick with Nicholas.
No, that's GREAT. Really helps me! Let's totally assume information more quicker, because- well, no need to make this more complicated than it needs to be lol

Hmmm I'll be thinking on the whole tampered/false info, I love it.

Wow, we actually have like...a goal. This rp could potentially have an ending and not just drop lamely because we don't have a plan. How exciting ;)
As upset as Vera was about the situation with Jaii, leaving him seemed like the worst idea. “No, I can’t just leave him,” she argued, being completely unhelpful by looking back every few feet. “Jaii could die, I need to be there!” Despite her yelling the shifter ended up with Rhea in the driver seat, her mind attempting to focus on the task Sam had given her. “This pack is nuts,” she accused when it was just the two of them, her hands gripping the wheel. “Besides, how the heck am I supposed to wait here while I don’t even know what’s going on? And I’m not going home, father will just push me right back at Rick.” She paused, running what Jaii said over and over again in her mind. “If he survives, he should be pack alpha. Those are the rules. Is that something you would want?” she asked Rhea, turning to look at the girl with a small sigh.

As soon as his son was through the doorway Luke rushed forward and brutally attacked. His claws swiped downward as he snarled, a set of sharp, white teeth attempting to sink into Jaii’s neck. They quickly tumbled into a mass of fur and fangs as he knocked him into the grass, not holding back. That, ultimately, was Luke’s weakness. All offensive, and it showed as he didn’t try and pulled away from the fight to make his next move. The alpha kept attempting to use his muscle to get on top of Jaii and bite whatever piece of flesh was closest to him.
Oh my word it feels like every time I try and get on the site it's being worked on. Bad luck I guess!
I was wondering if we could discuss this war and what Claire's objective would be if she's on the "other side", and can eventually be convinced she's in the wrong. I can't remember the name of the war, what country would she be helping out? Btw sorry I've been slow I promise to respond tomorrow around lunch or so.
Luke couldn’t believe his ears. Between what Jaii said and Sam he was ready to explode. “Shut up, Sam, this is between me and Jaii,” he snapped, not sure what else he could say to him. He didn’t want to wait until he was outside anymore, he was too outraged to wait. “Jaii, you talk big but you’ve never hurt anyone and I don’t believe you can.” His own words calmed him and he led the way outside, gesturing for Jaii to follow. He didn’t wait long, though. As soon as they were down the steps of the front porch he stripped completely, growling loudly. Rick followed, ready to jump in if necessary. It may be rules for a challenge like this to go one-on-one, but he wasn’t much for rules anyway.

As soon as his son was out the door he changed, black eyes staring at Jaii. Muscles smoothly moved beneath deep brown fur as he paced, waiting for the other male to change. Hackles raised on the back of his neck as he let out an angry bark, claws digging into the dirt beneath him.
Harper accepted and shook every extended hand. It seemed a bit formal to her, but she would rather have formal and nice than the complete opposite. The boy that had graduated looked familiar, making her wonder if he’d been in one of her classes in previous years, but she didn’t ask. RJ and Zach hit it off quickly, with both their dads being in the military. That was definitely something she knew nothing about, unfortunately.

Food, however, caught her attention. “Sounds like you’ve got us covered there,” she smiled, “And yes, s’mores are a necessity. I could devote my entire backpack to them, and I’d be good to go.”
Still browsing through the supplies Harper again heard her phone go off, and pulled it out of her purse while praying it wasn’t her aunt telling her she had to be home. No, it was Lyn…asking if they wanted to shop together, all five of them. Thank goodness! And she was already here, so that helped. With a sigh of relief Harper fidgeted with the strap of her purse while walking back to the entrance, keeping her eyes open for Lyn. It didn’t take long to spot her.

“Hey, you read my mind,” she greeted with a smile. “I thought it might be a good idea to check things out, but I have no idea what to get. Did you know there are sleeping bags that hang like hammocks? Completely unnecessary, and makes me feel like a an idiot for wanting a normal one,” Harper went on with a grin, suddenly realizing she was probably rambling. “Uh…hey. Thanks again for letting me tag along. And for not announcing it all over the internet that I’m going. Everyone would think I’m really weird for thinking this might be fun,” she finished, looking down at her feet then back at Lyn with a shrug.
When shirts come off, you know it's serious. ;)
