you can put up a short post. Or go on voicechat with your raid buddies and read this story to them while you wait for the rest of the guild to show up.
Story time with Wraithblade?
A Whale of text you say?
Martin regarded Magnus's style of psychic communication trough solely illusions to be both entertaining and creative.
"̢̀͡ Good, good. I'm detecting quite a lot of content and pride, you found the sarcophagus didn't you? My advice? Wait a few more moments before indulging in it.... On an unrelated not, I'm going to need some private space for a.. project. Can I use the mines?"̸̶̴͠
"Ah shyte, that sounds like more trouble than I signed up fer." Cedric scratched the back of his head and thought for a second.
"D'ya mind if I use yer communications? I want to see if I can tell ye more bout the thingamajig I gave ye."
A shadowy figure in dark hooded robes snuck trough the city of Kilo Point. Around his neck hung a small copper bell, it shook silently.
For a few minutes he stood still, mumbling into himself, he then continued on.
With skill and a set of lock picks he broke into the back door of the old hospital.
There, I went along with the Martin couldn't find Stein thing.
It's fine, let's just do it this way. I didn't want to obstruct your play Matt, but I felt Martin's buttons were pushed, and it was really the easiest solution imo.
Anyways, know that I won't stop you from whatever you're planning to do with Terebithia or Stein. I won't try and kill him.

One thing has to be clear though.
Stein is using recent, very experimental technology to dable in mental manipulation.
If he is somehow able to bypass the one character with intense defenses that Gabe can't even penetrate, fine none of my business.
But Martin is a collection of thoughts, he is a psionic being and found a way to borrow processing power (for lack of a better word) and is thus growing.
If it comes down to psionics Martin will beat Stein. Like I said, imagine a medieval fantasy setting, and there's a guy with a flame thrower, sure he's powerful, but he really shouldn't expect to be able to use that to kill an efreet or something. It's not necessarily that the efreet is too massively powerful, it's just that it's not that impressed by fire.

In the same way that Stein will beat any other character in technological insight (and apparently budget, damn)
- Magnus in one on one combat and leadership.
- Rhyss in being a badass
- Mithias in being heroic and having morals, also I think save for Gabe he is the oldest now?
- Martin still assumes Gabe is more powerful than him, and in the way Martin calculates power he is.

That said I do like the idea of making Ural the next big bad.
Who wants to play him? I would suggest getting new players but it's become evident that it's very hard to get into the story at this point.
User had the bad luck of constantly talking to the one person who is offline but still.
If you want to get into the game you kinda need to read the whole thing and you can't expect that of anyone... maybe if we put it all in a nice PDF and run a spellcheck? hmmm.
"̢̀͡ Noth- West from here... "̸̶̴͠
Martin answered Mithias's inner monologue as blood on the snow formed a crimson arrow, it was clear he'd stopped caring about pleasantries and subtlety. The Illusion was blatantly obvious so even most humans. "̢̀͡ It's about a 7 kilometer walk from here, though if you take a slight detour you pass by a creek, you might want to freshen up. "̸̶̴͠

With a voice layered thick in psionic treble and glamour it was difficult to tell, but someone as familiar with it as Mithias could tell he was agitated and bored.
"̢̀͡ Anyways I've scoured your being for any remnants of Stein but it seems your problem resolved itself. You are clean and healthy...
Now, is there anything else life threatening going on? Something you need help with or can you deal with these robotic cretins yourself?"̸̶̴͠

Dropping any theatrics he turned direct and almost businesslike.

"̢̀͡ It's actually a relief to not have that pompous human on my mind for a second, even though I did end up investing a lot of memories into that silly little machine of his that I can't access right now. I think I put everything I knew of African history on there among other things I can't even remember, shame about the African history thing though, I was going to put something together in a Loa theme, it was going to be mystical and stuff but I can barely remember who the Baron was... Sam? Sammy? Baron something something anyways. And with BIOpilot turned of or gone my internet access is gone too, that sucks badly...
I'll be honest, I'm bored now that he's gone... Hey did you need help or not? Else I'm going to pursue other projects, like find a new system to house memories. These humans and vampires keep dying! It's tedious. I think I scanned some scientists minds on biological AI somewhere, might steal that and build something cool with it."̸̶̴͠

Martin let his thoughts flow, barely stopping to judge the value of any of his thoughts. Without the worry of his brother in harm's way, talking about how they were all going to die. He only stopped when he noticed he was forgetting control and accidentally burst a couple of humans somewhere.

"̢̀͡ Damn it all! Why is everything in this blasted earth so damn fragile!? "̸̶̴͠
Aight, I finally got some time to read all this then.
..

I see if stein was broadcasting into Mithias's mind somehow but isn't anymore then Martin can't find it.
And if you shut down BIOpilot, or at least the parts that held backdoors for Martin (and sure, the programmer should be able to find them if h suspected they'd be there) then Martin won't be able to find BIOPilot.

I'm going to read the OC soon, first dinner. But quickly I'd like to point out that yes, being able to oneshot any NPC is pretty powerful, but every character in the setting can do that. It's a very high powered campaign and Stein has a warship along with free use of any technology that might be invented in the next 20 or so years.
SO excuse me if I use the psionic skill tree to it's full potential.
The redeeming thing that keeps Martin in check is that he won't murder anyone. And he isn't cocky btw, I might be, but Martin is just taking logical steps. He honestly believes he is immortal though, and in his current form, he's right.

I'm thinking of changing Martin's future plans, maybe something that will change his position in the story a little. Cause right now his only motivations are preventing Mithias from rushing towards death.

dinner first though.
I think Matt knows that you have to foreshadow your traps. Because he does talk about having plans.
Narrative wise it doesn't make sense for there to be a trap because the character Stein never mentioned expecting an action like this.
So just post damnit.
On traps: no no no not at all!
You need to prepare a trap, and make sure it's knowledge OOC. You don't have to mention what the trap itself is per sé, but the reader must know that your character prepared one. Otherwise you'd get really crappy story writing full of deus ex machina's.
To our knowledge Stein never took any precautions towards defending himself from a psychic attack, so he didn't.

As for Martin's views on HGW? He has no idea that Stein may or may not try to prevent it. He didn't hear your conversation remember?
All he got was a small glimpse at the plans when he was in your collective minds.
If it really is a massive army of super powered flying monsters that Stein calls angels. Then Martin doesn't give a flying fuck.
He's going to let it all happen unless something directly interferes with his own objectives.
Keeping Mithias alive is one of those objectives, Gabriel isn't because Martin doesn't believe he'd be threatened.

Stein got moved because he was in an extremely weak tactical position compared to Martin and got cocky. This or something similar was inevitable.
Every character has plenty of strengths and weaknesses. And Stein stepped into a new domain and challenged Martin on Martins strongest points. That's just asking to get wrecked.

Now, the point off all this was so the rest could keep playing while Matt was gone on vacation. So please just continue, if you decide to wait 3 weeks this threat will probably die.
Stein is a human who used some obscure technology to embed himself into Mithias's mind.
Now every other thing Matt's done has been accompanied with a scientific explanation. But this one is kept vague.
That's obviously because this is a new experimental technology and Stein has no real idea what he's doing.
Martin however has been doing this for 20 years, naturally by grace of his psychic abilities. He also has been spending a lot of the RP increasing the span of his abilities.
Plus he is an actual being made of thought at this point.

Narratively? Stein steps into Martin's domain and starts waving around threats.
This is the human who discovered fire vs a fire elemental.

As for traps, even if he had some kind of clue as to how. That's not how it works. You have to set a trap first.
Checkov's gun remember? You can't retroactively put a trap somewhere, even if you thought it up before, if it's not already in the game it doesn't exist.

Besides, this wasn't complete control. He isolated an alien (as in, not originally from Mithias's brain) entity and moved it to a free space.
His target was artificially placed, he can remove it with ease.
It's not like I'm taking full control of a character or taking someone's brain apart.

I won't prevent Mithias's deathwish any longer if that's what you're asking, and I won't kill anyone, never planned to.
I wrote that in the post, he was going to wait and see what the HGW was going to be.

So can we please get on with the story?
That's why Martin stayed out of the conversation all that time, why Martin didn't act until I got a response and kept asking.
He didn't intervene until Mithias dropped unconscious.

And what he did was just a simple transfer of data. At least I explain how it works, instead of mysteriously going "And suddenly my character could do X and no one could explain how.". That's actually quite limiting, because now I don't know the awnser OOC, but Martin would IC. And I have to go and think up reasons why Martin doesn't take a look under the hood.

So yes, he is more powerful than the flying warship, but mostly because he took precautions against the thing a long damn time ago.
It's been established a long time ago Martin could read and write in someone's head, and we've always treated AI to work similar enough for it to practically the same.
This was the end of the previous chapter remember?

But I'm keeping Martin in check. And he never threatened anyone's life. As opposed to almost every other character in the story.
And Stein kept talking about how he had a plan to kill him and his brothers. How was Martin supposed to act?
The constant insults and underestimating Martin can handle, and the threats at his life Martin can scoff at. But how was he supposed to act when his brother is being tortured and sends a dying farewell to him?
