Alright, I give you Heravix of Gaul!
Name: Heravix of Gaul
Age: around 2200, no one knows exactly
Species: Lich
Appearance: A very slender and tall man wrapped and covered in black, grey and blue shreds of cloth that constantly shift and move. His face is long and pale, he has long silver grey hair that flows from his head as well as his chin. His eyes are glowing blue. He never opens his mouth when he speaks, instead he uses magic. His hollow voice always seems to echo from everywhere in the room. The cloth goes all the way to the ground, you never see his feet stick out from under the robe as he seems to glide as he moves.
Powers:
Wide array of spells, incantations and rituals.
Immortality. (There's a magic object called a Phylactery that contains Heravix's soul. As long as it's safe he is immortal, his body will regrow near the Phylactery in a week if he is destroyed.)
Classes(In Order, Max = 8):
Teaches Mythology and History
Is student counselor
Personality: Think of the warmest, nicest, most caring person you know. Now stick that person in a freezer and hide him/her on the Antarctic for thousands of years.
History: In days before days forgotten. In times before the rise of the roman empire. There lived a man in what we now call France. He still lives. He found a way to store his soul and bind himself to the material world. No one but him knows more about his history than this, and even he doesn't remember much.
Crush/Relationship: Not that anyone knows of.
Family: Not that anyone knows of.
Friends: The other staff of the school sort of like him, once they get to know him. The same goes for many students.
Other: Heravix is a relic from different times, he has completed all of his goals a long long time ago. He took up teaching out of boredom a couple of hundred years ago and stuck to it ever since. He takes an interest in the lives of the students because "youth is creative" and he loves the rare moments he can be surprised.
Like?
Now, I know he's a tad powerful. But since he won't really meddle with affairs other than give advice and such. It shouldn't be an issue.
His role in the story should be kind of like that of Tom Bombadil.
You probably missed it, but i inserted an IN for you and other players coming in late.
A short bit back I hopped in and out of FairyTail before joining the brawl. (quite literally)
At that time i offered anyone who wished to help "protect magnolia from a monster" had the option to get a free ride with me.
I noted OOC that anyone who came in later can just start at the edge of combat and say they took the ride.

Jollan's right though, the battle won't take much longer.
His suggestion to go bother Doge is good, lots of interesting story opportunities there.
This sounds very interesting. I am in!
Is this one of those forums where people can have multiple characters? I think you could use a few teachers. Can i build a teacher as well?
oh you already got something, nvm

Yes, but has to have limits

Would only animals work?

Depends: Would they have full control, would they have all aspects

I have a few suggestions of limiting a shapeshifter power:
- limited use: takes up energy to maintain a shape
- doesn't change voice, intelligence, mannerisms. So it requires acting to make it convincing.
- does change voice, so no talking in animal form, just growling and hissing
- takes a while to change / is very painful
- movement not yet under control: animals that move radically different from humans are hard to control (cat or bear is doable, but a bird crashes)
- can only take shapes you know, you need to collect shapes and can only take shapes you've already collected. collecting is a ritual that takes time and effort.
or similar:
- can change into a creature you can see at that moment.
- there's a very obvious sign that can be recognized by people familiar with shapeshifters
- other animal's regard you as unnatural and will react hostile to you in any shape

maybe you can use something

spells & incantations, rituals (The only New Class is Mythology, you could have a free period for this)monster lore (This is part of Mythology)

Oh I get it, you threw all the supernatural stuff in a single subject, the rest is regular school then?
I'll fix it.

I'm going to be honest. The creepy implications were intentional. I wanted to have it implicated, but never outright stated XDI'll let each of you imagine what happened before Lambda became who she is now.

I hoped this was the case, doing that by accident seemed weird based on what I have read from you so far :)

No offense to Shikaru, but I think he's going with the "It's VAMPIRES! They don't have to make sense!" route here. Which is logical, I just enjoy exploring the nearer sciences of how this would work.

So do I, especially since we both have characters that love to mess around with that stuff.

Woah woah woah. Lambda wants to fight Magnus at 10% power? She's scrap metal! Assuming maximum motors for her body size, she should be able to outdo Magnus' speed and strength at 100%, but at 10% she's barely better than human....

I assumed her protocol was sorta to start low and power up as more power is needed. in the spirit of power efficiency and stuff. Since she doesn't know Magnus's power level (its clearly well over 9000)

Yeah, you're right, ultraviolet is out. And yeah, I think they are warmblooded. However, it's also been established that vampires don't breahe. So maybe vampiric cells simply duplicate incredibly rapidly, and are able to transport oxygen directly. It would be interesting to see....

Maybe its black magic!
hehe

I suggest we hope for Shikaru to drop an information bomb here.
Of course the isn't her uncle, its clearly stated he's her (foster) father.
