Hey I have an idea, how about we say she has two modes: total control and semi-free will. My new character could walk by and accidentally switch her to free-willed. then there'd be a convenient reason for her to suddenly get up and do shit on her own accord?
Haven't heard anything from her in a while. don't know what to post? or are you waiting for an assignment from jack?
maybe next time make sure you have an open ended assignment to work on while waiting for orders. like a computer having some routine programs running in the background for when it has unused power.
For a moment martin felt all thoughts, emotions and memories drain away from him. He felt alone and empty in an endless thick sea of nothing. Above him, far away he saw a light, he didn't know how, but he knew that was his humanity. A last chance to end it all here, and wake up.
He felt a calling, he felt Gabriel's eyes pierce trough the veil of nothing and call out to him. But it wasn't up, it was further down.
Martin didn't hesitate, this is what he wanted, this clarity was all he desired. He let himself sink deeper. He took his last mortal breath.
All his senses stopped their flow of input. But he knew them nonetheless. His sight was gone, but he could see clearly. More clear than ever.
Martin understood now, he wasn't insane, he could see more of reality than he should have. His mortal mind couldn't comprehend. But now...
The mark tethered him to reality, to his new father, to his first night: truly alive.
A hoarse whisper came out of his mouth as he spoke the first coherent thoughts that came to mind.
“The most merciful thing in the world... is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.”

Martin knew of every tree around him, felt the presence of every creature that lurked in their safety, understood the fear in their simple little minds better than they ever could.
With his first vampiric breath he felt the wind around him shift, as if the world breathed with him. The long awaited feeling of relief flowed trough him. Along with gratitude.
"Thank you,Sire... What happens now?"

Wait, one of your characters is being retconned by the DM?

Well it's a long story:
He is a devil and he has 2 abilities. one is that he can open portals anywhere on hell and earth. (This turns out to be pretty damn powerful since with enough creativity you can easily use this to tear the entire world a new one.)
The other one is the one being stopped. He can grant wishes. It has to be a wish from someone else, and that person must willingly go in a contract with the devil (sign with a kis. I found the paper contract silly since devils predate paper and writing.). After the deal has been made he has whatever power he needs to complete the wish. and to make sure the other person keeps his/her end of the bargain. He is forced to complete the wish btw. This ability is being straight up denied.

He strikes a deal with the DM's character, "Without killing the wisher, extract her immortality". Every time he tries, the DM calls it just doesn't work. no explanation. It's been a month in game. meanwhile she made a second character designed to counter my character in every way. on top of that the guy is using undefined magic and teleportation even though none of that is mentioned in his character sheet or anywhere else.

Like, my character tries to enter a house and jokingly asks to be invited in (as if he were a vampire). Next post suddenly there's an impenetrable force field that expels me no matter what I do and repairs the house from any damage. (including being teleported to the other side of the world and crashing 100m down into the alps.)

After that he punches out my character, teleports him to the 3rd layer of hell and claims he can't leave. all in one post.

So now I'm going to go back over there and open a hellgate above the house to rain acid, ice and flaming shit all over it until they come outside to play >:)
When he comes outside I'm going to sick Cerberus on the asshole.

Personally, I thought Martin was simply insane, and to be honest, i wasn't sure whether that was intended or unavoidable on your part. ;)

It was very intentional, although now that I think about it.
I have insane characters in two other RPs as well. one of them is driven criminally insane because his 'superpower' is self detonation, he survives it but feels the pain every time. So he is batshit insane.

The other one is slowly being driven insane because everything he does is being retconned by the DM and that takes a toll on a characters mind.
He is compulsively trying to do something and the DM keeps making up arbitrary nonsense to stop him from doing it. (to the point of creating new overpowered super characters to punch him out.)

I like martin best though, he's also the only one of the 3 that's not evil.

point is. I like exploring the idea of insane characters. but maybe it's affecting myself OOC as well.
Tsk. Either they are speaking gibberish or I am losing my mind faster than anticipated.
My eye twitches while I slowly scratch at the glass.
"Come on.. please? This is the last time I am going to be able to ask nicely."
I have to get to Ashley quickly.
"I might do something... drastic..."
I turn around to check if everyone has their bubbles.
meh, I only let Weiss do whatever I can justify by previously stated events. While you are adding more powers. Most of the things he does are just clever uses of portals. which i'll admit is pretty much when you can think creatively with them.

And why wouldn't Weiss have permission to leave hell? He left before didn't he? Nowhere in the entire story was it stated that a devil would have trouble with that.
In fact he already went to hell and back several times for trivial reasons, like picking up his bag that he forgot at home.
Now, locking him up in heaven, that would screw him over big time.
And if there are rules around teleporting in and out of hell. Why don't these apply to a werewolf?

I feel like you are building on a lot of assumptions that you aren't sharing with us OOC. So you shouldn't be surprised to find me confused.
I casually stroll trough a portal back onto the crass field with the pool and the warded house.
I am covered in tar, ice slush and flaming excrement. I have taken of my shoes and trail a path of cinders.
But still I look happy.
After a few moments of reflection I feel my calm has returned, my wrathful anger replaced by diabolical malice.
I smile very nicely at the two bubbled ladies. "You are very well prepared. Astounding foresight. A suggestion though, get Kyle a bubble too. If he dislikes me now, he is going to hate me in a few moments."

I slowly walk up to the house and casually dodge a few bricks that finish the edging around the door. I raise my hand to knock and shards of glass fly up to form a glass to meet my hand before it enters the building. I knock.
"Hello? Are you in there? Please, can Ashley come out and play?" I ask so politely it's almost unnerving.
that too
