"Terra's well being is my top priority at the moment" Algon was peaking the truth. Technically.
"As long as that Eli kid get's here eventually, it's one of the key points of the endgame. Another one is Drake. You no longer have to bring him harm, I just need him here. I want to pick his brain on some issues that have been bothering me."

should he then not know Mith's intentions?

It's not full blown mind reading. plan's are too complicated. Think of it more like martin taking everyone's perception of reality and using those to craft his own image. So he might see what you see, and feel what you feel, but he won't know what you are thinking.

Maybe he could have guessed as you weren't attacking with killing intend, but he was under pressure and hasn't been doing this for long after all.

So it's like a kind of super-empathy?

Yeah, kind off. Almost, it's hard to define because the main concept of the idea was that it's based on a way of thinking that is completely alien to humans.
In practice it comes down to him getting general tidbits of information on conscious minds around him and what they perceive. Thus he will always see you as your own self-image, unless there are other people around, then he mixes their image of you with that. And mostly things get lost in translation. That's why in Martin's mind the Therebithia looks like a colossal black whale with a thousand red eyes. Also because I think sleep is overrated.
"Problem is I have no idea in what form we exist right now. My guess is that there's currently two motes of life floating trough desolate Kilo Point, looking for drops of energy to reform ourselves and return to a physical form." Martin ranted on as he stared at the grass turning color, clearly amused.
"But we can take this opportunity to come to a better understanding of ourselves, maybe learn my name, do you know your name?"

Well, so far we've established it's possible for vampires to be psychic, somehow. Gabriel is the most powerful of them all, using illusions and trickery to convince others he has powers he really doesn't. However, I don't want anything like telekinesis, breathing fire, or stuff like that.

I agree. Then magick would become gimmiky. Preferably i'd like it to remain mysterious and weird.
As for Martin's way of percieving the world (not right now but as a vampire):
Say you are wearing a t-shirt with a funny text.
A human can read the text, hear it spoken, he can taste and smell and feel the fabric.
A vampire can read and hear it from a much larger distance.
Martin can sense none of those things. But he knows where you are, that you are wearing a shirt and that it's your favorite one.

I meant it to be just as powerful as regular senses, just completely different.

You know, I don't mind the idea of Martin having some pretty deep mind powers, but actual magic controlling life and death? Nah that's Lord Helixlike. He's a day-old vamp. It's amazing he has as much power as he does. Dracula is very cool, but... I vote no on weird godly magic and stuff. It seems like an easy way out AND its too much free-license to do whatever you want. we need rules, we need physics, although it's ok to be creative. Just be smart. Think of a way to live without hoopy-doopy magic. That's my vote. Now, i can work with what you just posted, as it could be some freaky death-dream Mithias has as he's blown away to bits, but I think i can recover myself within the bounds of this game. See what Shikaru says.

I hadn't gotten to the magic yet. It's all Martin's imagination.
This is them both being blown to bits and starting to regenerate. Mitheas could read minds right? Martin allows him in completely, since all they have at this point is a mind.
The things described are all in martin's head. not real.

I was planning on having them talk things trough while they regenerate, and there were some points I had idea's where magic comes into play. Like several idea's that might help them get back faster.

Hmmm...... we've steered quite far away from the realm of magic, and I don't want people throwing fireballs or casting spells. However, Shikaru is the final judge on this.

I'd like my magic to have a little more vague role. It shouldn't be a 'power', a utility to use when necessary. It should be a narrative device. More like the original Dracula.
I agree that we don't want warcraft wizards. But I can definitely agree with lotr wizards.

Mithias stood on an open field of long white grass. The skies where filled with turmoils black clouds with crimson lightning bolts running among them slowly like veins.
A warm breeze ran trough his hair and he could taste blood on the air. There was a valley in front of him, beyond that valley was a series of hills with burning crucifixes on them, an unsettlingly familiar sight. To his left was a gargantuan cathedral, one that looked like it had been constructed with no regards to dimensions, religion or common sense. On his right he saw in the distance a city in flames, over it hovered a black whale with a thousand red eyes. It was bleeding from the side, the blood dropping on the city melted the buildings and boiled the citizens.
In the sloping valley in front of him stood two rows of bare trees, chalk white, reminding of a rib-cage cracked open. In the middle, slightly to the left was a large boulder sized ruby, uncut and flawed. On it sat Martin, he had both his eyes and was drenched in blood. As was Mithias himself. Scattered on the ground around him lay thousands of small chips from the gem.

Mithias realized he was staring at the gem shards up close, he looked up and noticed he stood in front of Martin. Did he walk closer? Martin sat on the ruby with a calm smile.
"Are you dead? No. Although.. Yes, we both are. But not anymore than you were just moments ago. Undead." Martin said before Mithias could open his mouth.
"But... I guess we are a lot closer to the edge than we've both ever been." Martin made some physically impossible gestures.
"But the point is, we are!We exist, in some way. Our bodies are almost gone, but we still exist, so there's not enough of us for us to have a conscious us... So for now we are just minds. Welcome to mine." Martin spread his arms as a child presenting a class project.
It's darker than that of course :)
I'm going to write some things down. It'll take a few minutes.
Well this was necessary for an idea I was getting to, a bit sooner than expected. And the goal was 'hovering on death's door'. Close enough.
If you guys are cool with it I'm going to push trough with this story. It would mean I'd be calling that Martin and Mythias survive this barely, maybe several of the human characters I can't say yet. It kind off steps into the domain of magic though. I don't think it's any more 'magic' than for example the illusions of magnus or the things Gabriel has done so far.

Still. You guys agree? Realism wise, it's iffy. Narative wise, it's pretty cool methinks.
