"I'm free", she said, bewildered. As she sprouted her wings. "You are", he answered, smiling. While hiding all the strings.

Nice post Alida.

Thanks Spark ^-^

By the way, I just assumed that there were at least 15 Vocator girls at the arena (that number stood out to me but reading back I realised that was the girls' age), if that should be more (or less) just let me know and I'll edit it!
Marcus
As Marcus looked around the circle of contestants that had formed, he recognized a few. The woodsman... Borgrund Thomas Fellhallows of the Darretu Tribe, the late-twenties-guy who had looked around the city in wonder and he recognized a beautiful woman to be from Oragos. Another man came running from one of the arena's entrances, apparently he hadn't been seated when the tournament began. This contest would most certainly become more than he had bargained for.

Just as he was reconsidering his impulsive action, the late-twenties-guy stepped forward and declared that he was an apprentice blade master. Blade Master? Marcus had heard the people in the southern mountains talk about these men with utmost respect during the winter nights. To Marcus they had seemed more like one of the many legends, but here one was standing right in front of him. However, his respect slowly dimmed when the man continued talking. "I would ask if those of us in possession of Relics may use these Relics with non-lethal force in the Tournament, provided we are ready to accept any consequences that comes with revealing our powers in this dangerous time for the Relic-using kind. I am now finished, Your Majesty, and I would ask if I may have an audience in the foreseeable future concerning the Blademaster and Relic business. Ah... Thank you for your time, Your Majesty." The man was either very brave or very stupid. Even if the king would allow him to fight using his powers, the whole arena now was aware that the man was an evoker. No doubt the followers of The Order of Idris would be waiting impatiently to take him with them. At least the man was being all and completely honest, Marcus hadn't planned on informing the other contestants or the public that he was going to cheat by using his relic. The king as well as the other contestants looked shocked and they started to move away from the man. The Saeng however stood his grounds and only laughed openly at the man for telling everyone that he possessed a relic. The king was most likely just about to tell the man that he'd be left in the tender care of The Order of Idris when he stopped mid-sentence. "Fen's face..." Marcus mumbled as he looked up in terror.

Night had fallen. Only, it was around noon, there were no stars and everyone panicked. People quickly started running and some screamed that the Apprentice Blade Master had used his relic to cause this darkness. Marcus didn't know what to believe, he was sick of all the action and just remembered one thing clearly. His bag and bow! It was hard, but Marcus managed to struggle up the stairs to where his seat had been, while the other inside the arena all went the other way. The sound of lighting erupted behind him as more and more torches were lit but abandoned. Marcus didn't look behind to see what was going on, he just sought his seat while panic rose in his chest. Somehow he managed to get to his seat, take his bag and run down while passing all the fights. It seemed like the black-clad newcomers didn't kill just anyone. They only seemed to go after the ones who had proclaimed to be evokers and the guards and knights. Luckily, Marcus wasn't either. Panting, he ran through as much streets as he could, crisscrossing to shake off any possible pursuers. After a while, Marcus was sure that he would never get out of the maze of streets again and he stood still for a bit, catching his breath. "Just what on Azukhar is going on?"
Shin
Shin had watched the coronation ceremony from one of the entranceways. He was surrounded by the shadows and Shin had clad himself in it, making him impossible to see for people who weren't focusing on him. Shin however, was completely focused. Of course Yeong-An had come forth as one of the contestants, the young lord loved to fight. Mongkut was still sitting in the audience and Dung Suk had no doubt just woken up with a terrible headache. Shin had counted him drinking at least twelve of the local alcoholic beverage last night.

When all the contestants finally stood still, Shin counted at least seven evokers who had come forth. He spotted at least one other evoker sitting on the tribune, but he couldn't be sure since most of the audience wasn't sitting still. Shifting his gaze back to the circle of contestants, Shin noticed that the king seemed to.... "No, that can't be... " Shin shook his head in confusion. No doubt it had just been his imagination. Shin became even more confused when one of the contestants proclaimed that he was a relic user. With opened mouth he listened. The man was a fool, no doubt. More interesting was the king's response. "Young lad, the Kingdom of Othea has no official stance on the possession of relics and the terrible powers that come with them and, for the safety of our citizens, I order you to stand down and prepare to be-". The king suddenly stopped his speech halfway as darkness filled the arena. Darkness? Shin quickly rearranged not only the light around his face, where his white mask should have been, but around his whole body as if it were a cloak. In a matter of seconds, Shin was invisible. On a sunny day, only his shade would have been partly visible. But with all these clouds out...

As he walked into the arena, Shin realized that there were no clouds. As he stood perfectly still, Shin came to the realization that the arena was filled with at least fifteen evokers that he hadn't spotted before. Oddly enough, their light didn't shine as bright as most relic users' and he lost sight of them as they began to move. Quickly, with a grace and pace that he recognized. These relic users were trained killers, taught to move silently but as they began attacking some of the guards that were posted among the public, they proved to be lethal. Shin knew, he had to get away. This wasn't his fight. This wasn't even his country. It would be best to stay in the city a few days and then disappear quietly, back to Da-Hyun to inform Jok Lu about the events that had taken place. But something deep inside of him told him to stay. People started hitting him as they ran to the exits in panic and Shin saw how guards and knights attacked some of what would have been contestants. But Shin didn't pay attention to any of them. He was searching the rows for... something. Another spectator like himself.
Sep and I have been talking about a second character using a mask. So if you're ok with it Spark, I'll use Shin as my second player character. Also, I'll write a little something about the Yuushinto later on.

Viking? That group seems a little out of place, since the others are a bit more used to the lighter, faster swords, while Vikings are known to smash things. With big axes. And shields. And horned helmets.

Haha true, I didn't mean the war-side of the Vikings, more like their tribe system, their idea of equality and letting woman fight. And also, the reason why Vikings started plundering is the same: Scandinavia isn't a very fertile area. The only war-aspect I copied from them is the 'shield wall'. Usually the woman use shields and short blades, the men use long spears or katana-like swords.

UGHGHGHG NOOOOOO VIKINGS DIDN'T HAVE HORNED HELMETS. That's just a thing that 18th century European Opera came up with to make Vikings seem all the more barbaric and recognizable. X.x [I'm studying history so it really bothers me when people spread that misconception further into the world]

I'm watching the series Vikings atm, so I couldn't really help myself when I was creating Da-Hyun.

You'd have to run people in front of them like Galbatorix did when he had those dragon eggs.

Eragon?

How would the current places be described? Egyptian, african, etc.

Da-Hyun is most definitely Asian, I constructed it from a mixture of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Viking culture.

Wasn't it already decided that a relic could only bond with certain people? That's what confused me about your army of mass produced evokers, unless the empress's relic lets her FORCE bonds.

That confused me as well!

The coast. or maybe a desert with a river through it. Or maybe a great-plains area with large underground reserves.Ooh! Ooh! If I pick one of those unclaimed-unnamed areas, could I essentially turn them into whatever?Maybe take a set of the islands off-coast and turn them into a sort of fishing-pillaging-shipping people. They fish, they take stuff from the bottom of the ocean, they attack and pillage places of interest, such as someone else's town that is home to some of the best jewelers in the world, or perhaps just ship all that they have to somewhere else, should they pay to ship their stuff before getting raided.

Wooh there would be a nation filled with pirates to the east and one to the west!

As Aldia (Sorry I keep getting confused with your name) is concerned about her safety due to no PCs should die yet. The 4 Lieutenants are not in the siege from the Vocators, only other one you gotta worry about is Ivona and she's under my direct control. The other 60 folk have no real enhancements, just their training. Sure some of them will be better than others but with the amount of soldiers invading the city they won't be there. These will be the Rookies as it is a "Sure win". I'll be an asshole to you all later.

Haha thanks, you can call me Mary or Aly or Alida or whatever you like, just find something that's easy to remember!
As I explained to Sep, I'm afraid that I've given Marcus too much space to grow so atm he's rather weak. But if the rest of you would rather immediately face down all of the military forces, I'll just let Marcus run and hide somewhere.

Sorreh, been getting complicated. Will throw you a PM later.

That's okay, I guess I just posted to much information regarding their culture since different cultures really interest me, so nobody takes them seriously nor makes the effort to read all of it.
I'm looking forward to hearing your plan :)
