The last WiR I was in started in 1900 and I think it made it to about 1908 or 09 before the big war started. It was different than the real thing, most notably the UK stayed neutral if I recall correctly.

It took longer for a WW1 roleplay to start a World War than it did for us to...

Anyway, out of curiosity: Has anyone ever tried an RP like this in a WWI setting? I'd love the hell out of an RP with stats like this one, but set sometime right before WWI. Needless to say I would join the shit out of one.

There's a 1900 WiR that Frymonmon ran on Paradox Plaza, IIRC, and like Giant said, I think there was a 1914 game ran here.

1900 would be fun since it'd give you an opportunity to "customize" your country somewhat before heading off to war.

Those insidious Italians and Germans, trying to steal Italy and Germany out from under you.

Ikr. It's like they think nationalism has a place in this world.

The neutral club.
I'd like to be in the neutral club, but somebody wants my influence in Germany and somebody else wants my Venice. D:<

Mexico having colones within South America... Sounds like when Ottoman Empire had some land within North America in Empire Total War.

Nobody said anything about Mexico annexing Guiana.
Rare said
Why does Mexico have those land or either one. It's close to them and they can keep a eye on it.

Conceivably, Britain could sell Belize to Mexico, sure. The point of all this is that Mexico does stand to benefit from entering this war. Take out some Dutch colonies in exchange for better relations and maybe some territorial gains plus that whole debt thing.

Staying neutral yields nothing.

Joining the Coalition makes an enemy out of the side that currently controls the seaways.

Of the three options, the former makes the most sense.

Wait is there some British land with Central America?

Belize.

To be honest, I find the concept of Mexico taking people's colonies with its navy rather humorous. In a "that would never happen" kind of way.

If the Dutch don't have a navy in the Atlantic, and these colonies are poorly defended...? The British could just as easy trek Mexicans solders across the Caribbean.

HAHAHAHAHAHA, no.

Okay, Nexerus.

Rare said That wouldn't never happen. The European nations need their colonies to make their money. Mexico might get it's debt clear and an navy, that is good.

Considering China and Japan solved their border dispute, Britain intends to freely hand over Quebec, France handed over Alsace-Lorraine, it's sensible to assume that they'd throw Mexico a bone for helping them take out the Dutch.
