Yo, Stein. If I wanted to form some kind of federation (in the long term) out of Austria-Hungary, how would I go about doing that? I'm thinking a federation with Austria at the helms, and with a centralized army (instead of two armies like Austro-Hungary has).

Like the United States of Greater Austria?
How exactly is the Boxer Rebellion going to be simulated in this game, as well as foreign spheres of influence within China?
Most likely trying not to get horribly raped over the next fifty years.

I wouldn't mind a military junta coming to power when the Qing Empire is inevitably overthrown. It'd probably be the easiest way for Qing to modernize and survive war with Japan, assuming that the Japanese player is more or less interested in expanding into China.

I might PM Mag or somebody and seek some advice. I'm familiar enough with Chinese history that I feel comfortable playing Qing, but I'm certainly not knowledgeable enough to say that I wouldn't like some opinions on the matter.
Oh snap! I didn't actually see the IC posts. Thanks!
Did I miss anything important over the weekend and/or do we have an ETA for when we'll be starting?

Any recommendations for a nation that isn't very essential?

Romania, Spain, and Najd are interesting choices.

Romania because you can conceivably double in size, Spain because, well, Spain, and Najd because Saudi Arabia.
If you're looking for a map, I definitely recommend Q-Bam. There's a lot more of them, and they look a lot nicer than the Paradox ones.

China, pls.
Two South Africa players, no Great Britain.
