I think you guys will be happy to know that the opening post for the IC is done. I may post it before I go to bed tonight, if not when I wake up tomorrow morning.

When I get the IC up, I'd like everyone to post at least once before posting again. I'd like everyone to have the chance to have an introduction before things get crazy.
An64fan said By the way, Ampharos, I've a question I've been meaning to ask. How far may we push outside of what's laid out in our Stunts sections, such as with fighting "tooth and claw" and using what we can find in the environment? I've seen it go either way between Pokémon roleplays, though they are also somewhat established elements in the PMD games (now that I think about it). Just to touch on it briefly before we start would be nice.

It's reasonable to believe that characters have some kind of default attack, the same way that they do in the actual games. Like the games, it'll countless as a typeless move. You can fill in the details on what exactly you do.
Oh sweet. Laughing Matter, you finally joined. Now if that other goose would get around to joining too.

You think Zen Headbutt is an odd move for a Sableye? Ha! That's nothing; Kabutops can learn Absorb and Mega Drain and Gyarados can learn electric type moves from TMs

Alakazam can know Iron Tail.

Geoffrey Silt said I would say yes he was a criminal of a human when he was a human, I guess something along the lines of the process of becoming a pokemon is that backstory there. If not that, then I could just roleplay it out. *Maybe even that he doesn't know he was a human and being said pokemon gives him a whoe new look at life though he at times wil remember something, giving him a panick attack*

I want to keep the backstory as to who the characters were as humans somewhat vague, just like in the canon, but I don't mind that your character "remembers" certain feelings related to performing certain acts, if you get what I'm saying.

I'm concerned with people rolling their own dice I mean it's not hard to roll a d20, get a 1, and be :o well I got an 18. I think the rolls should be left in the hands of the DM and the action dependent on that roll belong to the player. (Plus I may have a dice back but maybe others don't.)

There are group dice rollers on the web if the GM wants to go that route.

Though, I don't think he mentioned anything about who rolls the dice. It can be assumed that he'd be the one doing it for the reason you gave.
I really want Atalee to meet Jitters. I can only imagine how their conversation would go.

So in general, how will teams be decided? xD

In general, what I think would be appropriate/interesting.

Though, keep in mind, teams aren't necessarily permanent. It's entire possible, even probably that certain missions would call for certain combinations, and therefore, teams to be switched up.

Iatos said And wouldn't a Moss rock, be likely more common in the 'Middle' zone? xD

More than likely, yes. Lucky you.

Approved.

Also, how much knowledge will the former humans retain? Will they know what the Pokemon species are called, how different fruits affect them, etc? Or are they just a completely blank slate?

The canon isn't explicitly clear on this, unfortunately, but it seems like the player character was at least vaguely familiar with most species.

I'd say that human characters retain basic knowledge about the world, including the names and types of most common Pokémon species, as well as some knowledge on more well known berries and other objects. That said, the player characters would recognize Kulero as an Alakazam but not Lugia as Lugia or Kyogre as Kyogre, for example. Likewise, they would recognize Oran Berries as Oran Berries and know they they have healing properties but not any artifacts or treasures.

Regarding Monaghan and any other non-human Pokémon that may eventually be created, I'll give you relevant information as the situation demands. If there's a fact or tidbit of information that I think that Monaghan should already know, I'll share it in private, state it here, or possibly state it the narrative.

If you end up in a situation where you're unsure whether it makes sense for your character to know something, just go ahead and ask.

We're now at 9 players, 10 once Geoffrey updates his sheet. That's plenty of players, I think, so I'll have the IC up on Wednesday afternoon.

Approved. Thanks for joining!

Card Captor said Quick question; do our characters at least remember that they were humans? (I assume so because that's how the MD games handled it, but I don't want to assume)

Yes, they do.
Geoffrey Silt said Streel

Not bad, not bad. I have a question, however.

As I'm sure you read, your character is a human with no memory of who they were before they were summoned to this world. Did you mean that your character was a criminal before they became a Pokémon, or that your Pokémon was always a Pokémon and just happens to be a criminal turned hero? If the former, then your character would have no memory of their criminal activities and thus not know why he feels the way he does and have panic attacks.

Also, would you mind expanding on your trouble a bit? I'm looking for a medium-sized paragraph, similar to either the example or what others have written before you?

Thanks.

Kiri said Same~ I can't wait to see the teams c:How are you planning on balancing them, Ampharos?

I'm interested in the teams too; I wonder who will end up wielding Cal.

I was going to pop the question shortly after I got the IC up, but I guess I can ask now. Do you guys have any preferences as to who you'd be paired with, and if so, who? We have seven players now plus one awaiting approval plus another who told me that he'll have a sheet done soon. That's nine players, which makes for three teams of three.

If you guys don't have a preference, I'll most likely organize it so that we have no two types on the same team and then, after that, do something based on overall compatibility, e.g. polar opposites. For practicality, I'll most likely put Caliburn on a team with either Streel or Zee since they're the only bipedal characters, though, I imagine that the quadruped characters could hold Caliburn in their mouths.

Also, on that topic, it would be good to have an idea of when you guys are usually around, including what time zone you live in. Ideally, people who are on at the same time would be on the same team so that we could keep the teams moving forward at a steady pace.
