And then the new system that replaces it would inevitably become corrupt itself and refuse to change. You see, politics just seems to bring out the worst in all of us, and I'd rather keep myself clean of it entirely. However, I do recognize that it is important and so I do vote, for all the good it does.

I'm really, really, really not okay with politics as it exists in the United States currently. It's literally just gossip. That's all it is. It's this candidate said that, then this candidate said this, and then a senator reacted by saying something else. It's sensationalized in the extreme, it's polarized so much that no one will even attempt to listen to someone on the opposite side of the party line, and not a single thing is ever changed. Fuck that. That is not what politics should be about. Therefore I have little respect for people who involve themselves in such bullshit.

If that's how you honestly view politics and the government, I pity you.
