Harvest Moon

Looks good to me! I'm typing up my first post right now. I think it will be best if we start the RP on either Spring 2nd or Spring 3rd so that we avoid the festivities of Spring 1st (which is New Year's Day). My character is currently on his way to The Valley.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Roleplay

Name: Ryder
Age: 20
Desired Occupation: "Adventurer" (Ryder has been a traveler for most of his life, and doesn't plan on settling down any time soon. Something about The Valley has captivated him, however, so he's been sticking around. Along his travels, he performs small tasks for some change, and sometimes resorts to stealing. He may settle down and find an actual job if someone can give him a reason to stick around).
Where will they live?: Being a traveler, Ryder doesn't like to settle down, and typically resides either within the Inns or sets himself up to sleep outside. His easy-going personality makes him flexible enough to just take things as they come.
Personality: Easy-going, adventurous, and stubborn. Ryder never turns down a challenge, which may get him into trouble from time-to-time.
Appearance:
Other:Ryder is an adventurous traveler that seeks out excitement as he travels through various towns. He is very self-dependent, and does not like to rely on others. Ryder's stubborn personality can sometimes get him into trouble, as he does not know when to quit.

CHARACTERS

BACHELORETTES

Celia

Celia lives with Vesta and Marlin at The Plantation, working as a farm girl. She is very polite and always tries her best with everything she does. She's slightly shy, and also very down to earth.


Flora

Carter's assistant, Flora, assists him with his archeological studies. Flora may not be the best cook, but she is dedicated to her research, and spends most of her time in the mines.


Lumina

Lumina lives with her grandmother Romana in her mansion. Romana spends a good deal of time trying to shape Lumina into a proper lady, whether Lumina wants to become one or not. Much of Lumina's time is spent practicing piano in the mansion.


Muffy

Muffy works and lives at the Blue Bar with her boss Griffin. She is the main bar tender at the bar and is quite popular in town. This lady may put on a smiling face for everyone, but deep inside, she truly fears rejection.


Nami

Nami is a wandering traveler who happened to wander into Forget-Me-Not Valley. She stays at Ruby's Inn where she has become close with Ruby and her family. Other than that, Nami tends to be a very secluded person, and keeps her thoughts to herself. She is very inquisitive and often wanders about The Valley.


Leia

After being injured and washing up ashore, Leia was found by Daryll and brought back to his lab. There, he nursed her back to health and gave her a home in a tub in his basement. He keeps the door locked and keeps Leia's existence a secret, so if you want to get to this bubbly mermaid, you'll have to befriend Daryll first.


Keira

This mysterious princess lives at the 255th floor of the 3rd Mine. For some unknown reason, she has lost her ability to speak, and instead writes everything on a board she keeps beside her bed. Keira is often asleep until she is awaken by a visitor.


Witch Princess

The Witch Princess is the Harvest Goddess's rival, and can often be seen causing trouble around The Valley and Mineral Town. The Witch lives in a small hut beside Romana's Mansion, and spends good amount of time researching her magic.


Ann

Ann lives in Mineral Town with her father Doug. Together, they run the Mineral Town Inn. Ann can be a bit of a tomboy, and she absolutely loves to cook. In fact, when she visits The Valley on Fridays, she heads right to the Inn to help Ruby prepare her food.


Elli

Elli is a nurse from the Mineral Town Clinic. She works alongside Dr. Trent and hopes to provide better health for her grandmother. She can often be seen in The Valley on Wednesdays to study medicine with Dr. Hardy.

Karen

Karen works at the General Grocery Store in Mineral Town with her parents Jeff and Sasha. She loves escaping from working and going on walks. She can be a bit snobbish at times, but she's really a huge romantic. She also likes to visit Celia on Tuesdays and goes to the Bar at night.


Mary

Mary runs her own Library in Mineral Town. Her father Basil, an expert botanist, has written many books himself. Mary is very shy, and often has her nose buried in a book. She visits Lumina on Mondays, spending the entire day with her.


Popuri

A bubbly young girl with bubble-gum pink hair named Popuri works on the Chicken Farm with her brother Rick and her mother Lila. Her mother has fallen ill, and her father has gone away to try to find a cure. In the meantime, Popuri spends a good deal of time with Takakura in Forget-Me-Not Valley to learn all about chickens.

BACHELORS

Jack

Jack is the local farmer of Forget-Me-Not Valley who took over the farm after his grandfather's death. Takakura lives on the farm with Jack and helps him with his duties. Jack is an open book with a positive attitude, and friends with many in The Valley.


Carter

Carter is an archeologist who has come to Forget-Me-Not Valley to conduct research within the mines. He is very dedicated to his work. Flora is his assistant.


Griffin

Griffin owns the Blue Bar and is Muffy's boss. He gave her a place to stay when she moved out of the city and into The Valley. He loves to play his guitar and is solemn soul who is always happy to share a story or some music. He and Gustafa are pretty good friends and enjoy making music together.


Gustafa

A traveling hippie -er- musician. He plays his music for the people and animals of The Valley, and is always out and about connecting with nature.


Marlin

Marlin is Vesta's younger brother and works on The Plantation with her. He may seem a big smug and standoffish, but under his cold exterior, he's actually a pretty sensitive guy. He's secretly in love with Celia, but too shy and concealed to admit it.


Rock

Rock is Tim and Ruby's (most-likely adopted) son. He lives at the Inn with them and can be a bit cocky. He's very flash and confident of his looks.


Skye

The Valley and Mineral Town are typically criminal-free; that is, until Skye came along. Skye operates by night, "borrowing" things from the other residents and causing havoc. He may be rather charming and seems to be able to stop people in their tracks, but something gives the impression that it all may be just a show. Perhaps what he really needs is a friend.


Cliff

Cliff recently moved to Mineral Town and is very shy. He works at Duke's winery. Cliff tends to keep to himself. He also seems to be very religious, as he spends a lot of time with Carter and Alisa in the Mineral Town Church. Though he may be shy, he loves the outdoors and is very friendly to animals.


Gray

Gray is an apprentice blacksmith who works with his father, Saibara, in Mineral Town. He is not very found of Mineral Town and considers it to be the "boonies." He enjoys reading and spends a lot of time in the Library. He also comes to Forget-Me-Not Valley to visit the mine and look for ores to use at work. He is friends with Carter and Flora.


Kai

Kai is a tan, lean summer boy who opens up a Snack Shop on the beach of Mineral Town during the summer. He loves fishing and has a light-hearted personality. He loves to have fun. His friend Denny also visits from the Sunshine Islands and opens up a Snack Shop in The Valley.


Rick

Rick is Popuri's brother and Lila's son. Since his mother is sick and his dad is on an adventure to find her a cure, Rick does everything he can to help his mother with the ranch. He is very protective of his sister, even though Rick isn't exactly the toughest guy around.


Dr. Trent

Dr. Trent is the head Doctor of the Mineral Town Clinic. Elli is his lead nurse. Trent tends to be very serious and keeps to himself, wanting to provide the best service he can to the people of Mineral Town (and even those who come from The Valley). He studies with Dr. Hardy in The Valley on his days off.

Forget-Me-Not Valley Vilagers

Barney

Barney runs the circus in Forget-Me-Not Valley with his acrobatic assistant, Mimi. The circus puts on quite a show, and could possibly expand to be a huge attraction in The Valley. Barney is quite a silly fellow and tries to maintain a sense of humor.


Chris

Chris is Wally's wife and Hugh's son. She works as a sports announcer, which is how she met he husband, who happens to be an athlete. She doesn't spend much time in The Valley, as she often leaves to go to work.


Cody

A man with a rough exterior but a golden heart. Cody is an aspiring artist who lives in The Valley. He specializes in sculpture, and loves working with metals. He prefers to keep to himself and is often misunderstood.


Daryll

Daryll is The Valley's crazy scientist. He always seems to be inventing new things, whether they work, or not. Daryll also keeps a secret locked in his basement. If you want to find out what that is, you'll have to befriend him first!


Galen

Galen is a retired elder that lives in The Valley with his wife. He me look cranky, but he's truly a sweetheart who is always willing to lend a helping hand (or cane) to others. Galen used to be a fisher, and is a great source for all kinds of advice..


Nina

Nina is Galen's wife, and one of the sweetest things The Valley has ever seen. She loves to knit and always has a smile on her face. However, she seems to be growing sicker and weaker lately...


Grant

Grant is a business man who lives with his daughter Kate and his wife Samantha. His wife seems to be very controlling in the relationship, and Grant lets her walk all over him. Their relationship doesn't seem to healthy, and Grant often finds himself depressed and overstressed over their failing marriage.


Dr. Hardy

Dr. Hardy is the expert doctor who lives in The Valley, and is widely known. He almost never misses an appointment and takes his work very seriously. He is so dedicated to his work, that he actually lost his eye trying to save a young girl's life. The girl had a contagious disease, but reminded him of his daughter. He decided he could not give up on her, and did all he could to save her - which he did, but he lost his eye in the process. Hardy takes care to watch over everyone's health in The Valley, particularly Romana and Nina.


Hugh

Hugh likes to train with his father Wally, who is a star athlete. You can often see the two of them running around The Valley. Hugh hangs out with Kate since they're around the same age, but she tends to tease him. I guess you could call it puppy love.


Kassey

Kassey and Patrick are twins who live together in The Valley and make fireworks in their house. Kassey is the more serious one out of the two, and tends to be a bit more reserved.


Patrick

Patrick on the other hand, is the younger twin brother who is more friendly than Kassey. He always feels as though he is second best when it comes to making fireworks, however.


Kate

Kate is Grant and Samantha's daughter, and tends to be a little bratty. She's quite a tomboy, which her mother despises. Samantha tries to dress her up in fancy dresses and gives her various dolls and girly things to try and influence her to not act like a tomboy, but Kate is who she is. Kate is close friends with Hugh, thug hehe loves to pick on him. Kate also blames her father for his failing relationship with her mother.


Mimi

Mimi is the acrobat who works at the circus with Barney. She has a graceful figure and is very polite. Rumor has it that she puts on quite a show!


Mukumuku

Mukumuku is a furry white creature who roams The Valley near the Goddess's Pond during the Winter. He was said to be a legend, but many people have seen him. He does appear to be friendly, though he doesn't speak English. All he does is smile and grunt at you. He also loves to eat fish.During the Winter season you will find a furry, white creature out by the Goddess' Pond. Mukumuku is a legend in the valley but you can talk to him for 30 days out of the year.


Murrey

Murrey is The Valley's resident hobo. He sleeps under the Ancient Tree near the Goddess's Pond. He is always hungry and tends to steal food from the farms in The Valley. His only friends are the flies that orbit around his head.


Romana

Romana is the friendly old woman with big hair that lives in the mansion in The Valley. She lives with her granddaughter Lumina, who she tries to reform into a lady, and her faithful butler, Sebastian. Romana has a taste for the exquisite things, and loves paintings and other forms of fine art.


Ruby

Ruby is a kind Asian woman who runs the Inn with her husband Tim. Everyone in The Valley loves her cooking, and she tends to cook for big events. Ruby is Rock's "mother" and is very lenient with him. Nami also tends to see Ruby as a mother figure in her life.

Tim

Tim is ruby's husband and helps her run the Inn. Tim travels the world and is a very cultured individual, but admits that no one can cook quite like his wife can. Tim is a kindhearted fellow and a very lenient father.


Sebastian

Sebastian is Romana's elderly and faithful butler. He takes care of the Mansion and does all he can to make sure everything runs properly. He almost never leaves the Mansion, and also serves as Romana and Lumina's personal chef.


Takakura

Takakura lives on the ranch in The Valley, helping out the farmer who lives there. He is a very kind man, though he seems to have many secrets. Popuri tends to visit from Mineral Town to keep him company, and he's always happy to see her smiling face.


Van

Van is a traveling merchant who visits both Mineral Town and The Valley. Van sells various knick-knacks and items, and even purchases items from the villagers as well. You can always bargain with Van, and try to get the best deal out of him, unlike his counterpart, Won, who tends to swindle money out of you.


Vesta

Vesta runs The Plantation with her brother Marlin and a girl named Celia. She does not have any livestock, but has a wide range of crops and seeds, and spends long days out on the field. Vesta is a very strong woman with a very big heart.


Wally

Wally is Chris's husband and Hugh's father. He is also a star athlete and spends most of his time exercising with his son.

Mineral Town Townsfolk

Anna

Anna is Mary's mother and lives in the house connected to the Library with her husband Basil. She tends to come off as a bit snobby, as she loves to gossip with Sasha and Manna and dresses up on a daily basis.


Barley

Barley runs the Yodel Ranch in Mineral Town and sells livestock. He has a daughter named Joanna who left Mineral Town to seek fortune, but has left her daughter May behind with Barley. He's a rather kind old man who loves spending time with his granddaughter.


Basil

Basil is Anna's husband and Mary's father. He is a naturalist and a botanist and spends most of his time investigating plants around the town. He also writes books about his findings, and is a very cheery fellow. Anna tries to keep him locked up inside, however, but he loves to be out roaming the world.


Carter

Carter is the pastor of the Mineral Town Church, and spends most of his time worshiping the Harvest Goddess. He is a very religious man, and is often visited by Cliff. Alisa also visits from the Sunshine Islands to study with him, and resides within the Church.


Doug

The Mineral Town Inn is run by Doug and his daughter Ann. His wife died a long time ago, leaving Doug to care for the Inn and raise Ann on his own. He wants the best for his daughter and is friendly to any bachelor who enters his Inn. He just wants Ann to be happily married!


Duke

Duke runs the Aja Winery with his wife Manna. He named the winery after his daughter Aja, who moved out of Mineral Town after a quarrel with her father. Duke is stubborn and doesn't talk much about her, though Manna really misses her daughter. Duke also tends to be a bit of a heavy drinker, and has a short temper.


Ellen

Ellen is Elli and Stu's grandmother. She watches over Stu while Elli is working at the Clinic. As a result of being sick while she was younger, Ellen's legs have grown very weak. She spends all day in her house next to Mary's library and doesn't even go to any of the festivals. Since she can't leave her chair, she appreciates company and may ask favors from the other townspeople. Elli works hard as a nurse to hopefully one day help her grandmother's legs, though the effort may be hopeless.


Gotz

Gotz is the carpenter who lives in Mineral Town. He does most of the work between The Valley and Mineral Town, renovating many buildings. Gotz can handle any of your building tasks. He may get lonely from time to time, however, especially since he lives on the outskirts of Mineral Town.


Harris

There may not be very much crime in Mineral Town, but in the case there ever is, Harris is the local law-officer to keep things in check. He lives with the mayor and can be a little goofy. Perhaps the fact that there is so little mischief in town makes his job too easy, and will make things difficult if trouble ever did arise.


Jeff

Jeff and Sasha run the Grocery Store in Mineral Town with their daughter, Karen. Jeff frequently lets customers buy on credit, which Sasha does not approve of. Jeff tends to be very worrisome and gets sick often.


Lillia

Lillia runs the Poultry Farm and is Popuri and Rick's mother. She has an illness that prevents her from leaving the farm, which is why her husband, Rod, set out on a journey to find a mysterious flower which has the ability to cure her.


Manna

Manna is Duke's wife, and loves to talk. She often says a little too much, and spends most of her time gossiping with Sasha and Anna. She misses her daughter Aja, who left the town after an argument with her father. Manna also helps run the winery when Duke is busy.


May

May is Barley's granddaughter and lives at Yodel Ranch with him while her mother is away. She misses her mother, but her mother doesn't seem to be coming back anytime soon. She plays with Stu outside the Church very often, and loves animals.


Saibara

Saibara is the town's blacksmith, and is a very wise old man. His grandson Gray is his apprentice, and he can be very tough on him. He thinks that Gray doesn't work hard enough, and doesn't approve of his negative attitude.


Sasha

Sasha runs the Grocery store with her husband Jeff and her daughter Karen. She tends to be in the back room while her husband does all the work. Sasha also loves to gossip with Manna and Anna, and also likes to visit Lillia so that she has some company.


Stu

Stu is Elli's little brother and he lives with their Grandma Ellen. Stu and Elli's parents died a long time ago, so it's up to Elli and Ellen to take care of him. Stu is normally a pretty good kid and doesn't cause a lot of problems. He does like to find insects, which he shows to his Grandma. He likes to play with May in front of the Church.


Thomas

The Mayor of Mineral Town! Thomas may be quite an odd fellow, but there is no doubt that everyone knows him and he does his job. He runs all of the events in the town and often checks in on his townspeople. He lives with his officer, Harris, in the northern part of Mineral Town.


Zack

Zack ships most of the goods in Mineral Town. He lives on Mineral Beach with a sniveling merchant named Won. Zack also seems to be a bit of a body builder, as he has quite a body to display. Zack came to Mineral Town after meeting Rod during his journey to find Lillia the cure for her illness. Zack has a bit of a crush on Lillia, but dares not pursue it due to being friends with Rod.


Gourmet

Gourmet visits Mineral Town from time to time to participate in the cooking festivals. He has quite big mouth and is a jolly man who loves to eat. He comes from bigger cities, but loves to visit Mineral Town and The Valley for the food. He may even occasionally bring his nephew, Pierre, along with him.


Kappa

Kappa is the mysterious creature living in the lake on Mother's Hill. He will only appear if you throw a Cucumber into the lake. During the Winter Season, the lake freezes over and Kappa seems to disappear. Perhaps there is more beneath the surface of the lake than meets the eye...


Won

Won is a traveling merchant who lives on Mineral Beach with Zack. He always tries to get the best deal for himself, but sometimes sells some rather interesting things.


Harvest Goddess

The Goddess is the priestess of harvest. She lives in a realm separate from ours, a realm that is connected directly to nature, which allows her to be everywhere at once. She channels the energy from the land, and the two exist in symbiosis. The Goddess's Lake in The Valley and her pond in Mineral Town seem to be gateways to the Goddess, as she tends to appear when someone makes an offering at either of those bodies of water. She has a rather dramatic personality, and thinks she is quite a marvelous creature.

VISITORS

Lily

Lily is a traveling treasure hunter that visits The Valley and Mineral Town to search for treasure. You can usually find her within the mines, as she is not afraid of any of the shadow creatures and can hold her own in battle. She speaks with an exotica language and is quite wise, learning a lot from her ancestry.


Will

William is a wealthy heir who has been "traveling this way and that" after his father suggested that he should see the world. He speaks in a very proper and respectful manner, and is generally polite to all. Will may arrive at some point in the RP via his private Yacht.


Alisa

Alisa is a woman who has devoted her life to the teachings of the Harvest Goddess. She lives on Sunshine Islands with another pastor named Nathan, but often visits Mineral Town to study Carter's teachings at the Church.


Denny

Denny lives on Sunshine Islands, but visits Mineral Town during the summer to see his good friend, Kai. The two are both avid fishermen, and are very proud of their skills. Denny may decide to set up a Snack Shop in The Valley while visiting Kai, hoping to be close to the beach and have more opportunities to catch new fish. He carries a little bird named Popper with him, and always has the bird propped on his shoulder. He has a very cheerful attitude and never turns down a challenge.


Lanna

Lanna is a former music idol who moved to the Sunshine Island for an exotic retreat. She sometimes gets the urge to perform, however, and visits Forget-Me-Not Valley to perform at the Blue Bar. Her and Muffy seem to get along very well. Lanna is also quite a fan of fishing, despite her small ego and glamorous appearance.


Pascal

Pascal is the sea captain from Harmonica Town. He may occasionally visit Forget-Me-Not Valley and Mineral Town with some passengers aboard his ship.


Selena

Selena always wanted to be a traveling dancer, but was held back by her mother, Sue. Her father, Samson, didn't know whose side to take, so Selena took matters into her own hands by stowing away on Pascal's ship and traveling on her own. She travels to various locations attempting to be recognized for her skilled belly-dancing performances. Selena comes off a bit haughty and likes to play hard-to-get, but deep inside is just a misunderstood little girl.

LOCATIONS

Forget-Me-Not Valley

1. The Mansion: This is where Romana, Sebastian, and Lumina live. Romana is the owner of this mansion, and the mansion has quite a history.

2. Witch Princess's Hut: This is where the Witch Princess lives and conducts most of her troublesome pranks. It's right outside Romana's Mansion.

3. Farm: This is where the Valley's main farmer, Jack lives. He specializes in animal produce, such as milk, eggs, and wool, and also sells some crops as well.

4. Takakura's House: Takakura lives here on his own, and advises Jack on how to run the farm.

5. Chris, Wally, and Hugh's house: This is where Chris, Wally, and Hugh live. You can be sure to find plenty of sports equipment in this house!

6. Dr. Hardy's house: The town doctor lives here, and conducts most of his examinations in this building.

7. Samantha, Kate, and Grant's house: This is where Samantha, Kate, and Grant live. The air always seems to be rather tense in this building.

8. The Blue Bar: This bar is run by Griffin and Muffy. Many of the villagers gather at the bar for a refreshing drink, or to listen to one of the singers.

9. Mitemi Inn: The inn run by Tim, his wife Ruby, and their son Rock. There are many rooms available, and visitors from various towns tend to frequent the inn.

10. Firework Maker's house: Kassey and Patrick (they're twins) live here, and make fireworks.

11. The Scientist's House: Forget-Me-Not Valley's local mad scientist, Daryl, lives here. The man is known for a variety of strange experiments, and does not seem to have many friends. Rumor has it that there may be a mermaid living in his basement...

12. The Minsteral's Hut: This is Gustafa's hut. However, you'll rarely see him at home. He's usually out playing his lute for people and animals.

13. Turtle Swamp: Near Cody's house is a tiny marsh where a certain giant turtle seems to spend most of his time. You can also do some really good fishing here! A great source of artistic inspiration.

14. Artisian: Home of an aspiring artist named Cody. He may appear to be rather frightening, but he's truly one of the nicest folk in The Valley. Cody specializes in creating art with various metals, which can often be seen displayed all around his house (which is also made out of metal).

15. The Beach: A place of sun and fun! During the summer, Kai and Denny may visit and sell ice cream at the Snack Shack. The beach is a great spot for fishing, and a few islands can be see off in the distance.

16. Goddess's Pond/b]: A magical pond that is said to harbor the spirit of the Harvest Goddess. There are many secrets of the pond that have yet to be discovered.

17. [b]Ancient Tree: The Valley is known for being a home of a mystical tree that gives life to various mystical creatures. Mukumuku and Murrey usually linger around this tree, and it is said that magical Harvest Sprites live within it, though they are invisible to most.

18. Hot Springs: One of the two hot springs in The Valley. A great place to escape from the world and let your troubles melt away.

19. The Plantation: Vesta, Marlin, and Celia live here. The plantation is known for growing a wide variety of crops. You may purchase seeds, fertilizer, or any of their crops here.

20. Carter and Flora's tent: An archeologist named Carter and his assistant Flora live here. Their tent is very close to the mines so that they can search for various objects as often as possible.

21. The Mines: These mines are full of mysteries and are hundreds of floors deep. One may descend by searching for the stairs that lead deeper into the mine, or accidentally falling through one of the dangerous pitfalls. All types of precious gems lie within the mines, and on the deeper levels, vicious shadow creatures roam. It's also rumored that a slumbering princess may reside somewhere deep within the mine...

22. Path to Forest and Mineral Town: This path leads to the exit of the Valley. After exiting the Valley, one may find a vast plain, a thick forest, and a large mountain known as "Mother's Peak." Beyond Mother's Peak is Mineral Town, a town full of friendly faces. There is a dirt road that leads around the forest and into Mineral Town if one wishes to avoid navigating through the forest and climbing the mountain.

23. Nina and Galen's House: Home of the sweet elderly couple, Nina and Galen.

24. Hot Springs: The second Hot Spring of the valley - A place to relax after a long day of work! Let all of your troubles melt away as the steaming water soothes your aching body.

25. Barney's Circus: Forget-Me-Not Valley's most exciting venue. Here, a clown named Barney and an acrobat named Mimi put on quite a show.

Mineral Town

1. Farmland: This is where the local farmer lives.

2. Hot Springs: A relaxing spot in Mineral Town where all your troubles can bubble away.

3. Goddess Pond: A magical pond that is said to harbor the spirit of the Harvest Goddess. There are many secrets of the pond that have yet to be discovered.

- Ore Mine: There is a mine beside the Goddess's Pond that is full of various ores. If you get deep enough, you may even find some magical equipment, though much of it has already been scoured out.

4. Winter Mine: Most of the year the mine is surrounded by water, but during the Winter you can walk across the frozen lake and into the mine. Kappa lives under the lake that surrounds this mine.

Festivals and Events

Winter 10 - Spring 1 - New Year's Eve/Day
Everyone throws a party to celebrate the coming of a New Year. Most people either gather at the beach for fireworks or at Romana's Mansion for some fine dining in Forget-Me-Not Valley. Ruby cooks a great meal on this day! In Mineral Town, everyone gathers at the Rose Plaza to celebrate this event by pounding rice into mochi.

Summer 1 to 7 - Summer Festival
Everyone sets up festivities to celebrate the first week of summer, with parties at the beach, musical gatherings, and various other activities.

Summer 24 - Fireworks
Everyone gathers at the beach to watch Kassey and Patrick shoot their fireworks to celebrate a great summer. This display is so spectacular that it can even be seen from Mineral Town's Beach.

Fall 9 - Harvest Festival
Everyone gathers together at a designated location, bringing some food to share together at a grand feast.

Fall 30 - Pumpkin Festival
People dress up, play pranks, and exchange treats.

Winter 14 - Valentine's Day
Exchange chocolates with your sweetheart.

Winter 25 - Stocking Festival
Everyone exchanges gifts with each other and gives thanks for the land the Harvest Goddess has kept nourished for them. The Winter is coming to an end at this point, and everyone gives thanks and hopes for another great Spring to follow.

WELCOME TO A...


Welcome to a mystical world full of romance and adventure. Countless adventures wait for you within Mineral Town and Forget-Me-Not Valley (and perhaps even beyond). Your character will live and act out their daily life, creating many friendships along the way. Whether your character seeks love, success, or even just an exciting experience, there is plenty in store for you! So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and move on into Mineral Town or Forget-Me-Not Valley!

RULES

RULES

1. You may only act as one main character (You may create side characters, but they will be able to be used by the other players and will not be your primary focus).

2. You may not use other people's main characters without permission (Anyone can use the NPC's, however - just not as their main characters).

3. Major decisions that have an effect on everyone need to be approved by the majority of the role-players (i.e. Killing someone off, a grand storm, a big event, etc.).

4. These towns are, for the most part, technology-free. That means (with some exceptions), you should try not to include the usage of cell phones, TV's, automobiles, and other similar devices in your posts. We want to stay true to the Harvest Moon magic!

5. You need to post the date (for example, "Monday, Spring 1st") in each of your posts. Please try not to advance too many days too quickly, as we do not wish to leave other members behind.

6. Please be respectful of all users and adhere to the typical forum rules: no flaming, no graphic imagery; you know the deal.

7. You do not need to wait for everyone to move on to the next day before you can post. However, please try to be considerate of other members and their time zones and schedules, acknowledging that not everyone will be able to post as frequently as others. Because of this, we do not want to leave people too far behind, so do not go any further than one day ahead of other members.

8. In the case that a member (or members) have not posted in about a week and a majority of the group is waiting to move on, the RP will continue and the member(s) left behind will need to resume wherever the rest of the group leaves off. (They can post a synopsis of what happened during the day(s) that they were unable to post for, and carry on with the rest of the group).

9. Be creative and descriptive! With two towns, a mountain, a forest, multiple caves and mines, and plenty of characters, the possibilities are endless! Use your imagination and make your story interesting. Keep in mind that this is an Intermediate Roleplay. And most importantly...

MARRIAGE

Marriage

1. You may choose one character to woo, date, and then marry. (it can be a NPC or another user's character).

2. Even though it did not exist at all in the games until very recently (due to the new "cross-dressing" feature), I will allow same-sex marriage in this RP.

3. Keep in mind the way relationships progress in the actual games. You will have to raise the heart level of the person you wish to marry from Black to Purple to Blue to Green to Yellow to Orange to Red. Along with each heart level, you should also have a corresponding heart event. These do not need to be the same as the ones in the games: be creative!

4. Though you need to raise the heart level of your lover, you do not need to spend centuries getting from one heart color to the next. By that same token, however, these things do not happen overnight. You should at least take from a few days in the RP to a week or so in the RP to progress from one heart to the next.

5. You may have children! Before you/your wife gets pregnant, you must have been married for one season (30 days). Your baby will then be born two seasons later (60 days). These days can be somewhat flexible, but let's try to keep them realistic.

Yep, you're right! We are including a forest in between Mother's Peak and The Valley, indicated on the map. Your character sounds a lot like Gotz - you may want to consider partnering with him! Gotz is the carpenter/woodcutter in Mineral Town, and he also lives secluded from everyone else, right on the outskirts of Mineral Town (he doesn't quite live in the forest, but he doesn't live in the town, either). Even if you don't partner with him or live with him, I can see your character meeting him in the role play, and maybe even helping each other out (or starting a feud, haha).

Also, just a heads up everyone - expect the RP to be posted within the next 30 minutes!

And I think I've settled on playing a male named Ryder. He's going to be an adventurous traveler who comes across Forget-Me-Not Valley and decides to stay because of some adventure. His romantic interest will be Lily, he will become friends with Skye (because Skye will challenge him and Ryder can't resist a challenge) and he will be very stubborn and self-reliant. He won't be moody or anything, though, but Skye is probably going to get him into a bit of trouble.

My parents are forcing my brother and I to go out to the mall however, so I'll have to post the RP when I get home. Here is the character sheet if anyone else wants to get started on making their characters while I'm away!

Forget-Me-Not Valley

1. The Mansion: This is where Romana, Sebastian, and Lumina live. Romana is the owner of this mansion, and the mansion has quite a history.

2. Witch Princess's Hut: This is where the Witch Princess lives and conducts most of her troublesome pranks. It's right outside Romana's Mansion.

3. Farm: This is where the Valley's main farmer, Jack lives. He specializes in animal produce, such as milk, eggs, and wool, and also sells some crops as well.

4. Takakura's House: Takakura lives here on his own, and advises Jack on how to run the farm.

5. Chris, Wally, and Hugh's house: This is where Chris, Wally, and Hugh live. You can be sure to find plenty of sports equipment in this house!

6. Dr. Hardy's house: The town doctor lives here, and conducts most of his examinations in this building.

7. Samantha, Kate, and Grant's house: This is where Samantha, Kate, and Grant live. The air always seems to be rather tense in this building.

8. The Blue Bar: This bar is run by Griffin and Muffy. Many of the villagers gather at the bar for a refreshing drink, or to listen to one of the singers.

9. Mitemi Inn: The inn run by Tim, his wife Ruby, and their son Rock. There are many rooms available, and visitors from various towns tend to frequent the inn.

10. Firework Maker's house: Kassey and Patrick (they're twins) live here, and make fireworks.

11. The Scientist's House: Forget-Me-Not Valley's local mad scientist, Daryl, lives here. The man is known for a variety of strange experiments, and does not seem to have many friends. Rumor has it that there may be a mermaid living in his basement...

12. The Minsteral's Hut: This is Gustafa's hut. However, you'll rarely see him at home. He's usually out playing his lute for people and animals.

13. Turtle Swamp: Near Cody's house is a tiny marsh where a certain giant turtle seems to spend most of his time. You can also do some really good fishing here! A great source of artistic inspiration.

14. Artisian: Home of an aspiring artist named Cody. He may appear to be rather frightening, but he's truly one of the nicest folk in The Valley. Cody specializes in creating art with various metals, which can often be seen displayed all around his house (which is also made out of metal).

15. The Beach: A place of sun and fun! During the summer, Kai and Denny may visit and sell ice cream at the Snack Shack. The beach is a great spot for fishing, and a few islands can be see off in the distance.

19. The Plantation: Vesta, Marlin, and Celia live here. The plantation is known for growing a wide variety of crops. You may purchase seeds, fertilizer, or any of their crops here.

20. Carter and Flora's tent: An archeologist named Carter and his assistant Flora live here. Their tent is very close to the mines so that they can search for various objects as often as possible.

21. The Mines: These mines are full of mysteries and are hundreds of floors deep. One may descend by searching for the stairs that lead deeper into the mine, or accidentally falling through one of the dangerous pitfalls. All types of precious gems lie within the mines, and on the deeper levels, vicious shadow creatures roam. It's also rumored that a slumbering princess may reside somewhere deep within the mine...

22. Path to Forest and Mineral Town: This path leads to the exit of the Valley. After exiting the Valley, one may find a vast plain, a thick forest, and a large mountain known as "Mother's Peak." Beyond Mother's Peak is Mineral Town, a town full of friendly faces. There is a dirt road that leads around the forest and into Mineral Town if one wishes to avoid navigating through the forest and climbing the mountain.

Alright guys, I've officially got all of the information typed up and ready to be posted. I should probably think of a character for myself now, hahaha. I'll post it soon!

Also, dndragons, do you think you may want to take over the "farm" in Mineral Town and make it your ranch? I sort of want Jack (the main character/farmer in the game, who will be a NPC in the RP) to live on the one in Forget-Me-Not Valley, since Takakura also lives there and will help him out. If not, I can possibly just move Jack to Mineral Town.
