Name: Mai Sato

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Occupation: Owns a bookstore, author in her spare time

Apartment Description (If Applicable):

Personality: Mai can easily be distracted by the smallest of things, depending on how hard she's working. However, she will not be taken away from her reading, no matter what. She is kindhearted, imaginative, and witty, often appealing to many people. She can make friends easily because of her charm and loyalty. She absolutely adores dogs and taking long walks/jogs with her dog. Sometimes she can be found daydreaming or just in her own little world, until someone snaps her out of it.

History: Mai's parents are both professors at a well-known university, and her siblings are all getting into higher paying jobs like the medical field, or following in their parents' footsteps. She's the youngest of five, and as she grew up, she always had things to live up to. Her sisters' brains and looks, her brothers' intellect and strength, her parents' success. The only thing that took her away from all of that was reading. The first time she picked up a book, she was no older than three and she fell in love with it almost immediately. It began with simple children's books, but as she grew older she got into thick books, especially in the fantasy genre with magic, dragons, elves, and evil kings. As she read, it was like she was seeing all of the things herself, and she had an urge to create it. Through high school and college, she took creative writing classes, and literature, wrote short stories and poems. Though her parents looked on it with disapproval, they accepted it and supported her, helping to pay for her classes and any books she needed.
After graduating college, Mai moved to East Village because of its appeal and a small store that was for lease. Seeing its potential, she rented an apartment there and turned the empty store into a small bookstore and ran it mostly on her own, with the exception of the occasional teenager that wanted a summer job there. After discovering that the apartment complex allowed animals, she rescued an Australian Shepherd. He's been her best friend and loyal companion ever since; they're pretty much inseparable.

Dog: Cooper
Mitsuko followed the rest of the group and wasn't especially surprised about the minute bus. Her brother had told her about it a while ago, before he left to pursue his dreams. She sat quietly on the bus, listening to the people converse around her, and ended up falling asleep again. When they came to a stop, she jerked awake and looked outside, noticing that they were in front of Maken Cafe, a fairly popular hang-out place. She nodded in Uta-san's directions as he was introduced, then followed everyone into the large room, big enough for a rather large group to run laps in. She grinned and thought, This is going to be fun!
Mitsuko watched in awe as Sakura summoned her familiar. It was the most amazing thing she had seen thus far in her life, and it excited her. Now, she was set on being able to do the same thing. "That was awesome! Can you really help us learn to do that?"
Mitsuko jerked at the sound of the bell, which woke her from another stupor. She rose to leave but hesitated as Shinji and Shinto conversed with each other. Then, Tyler and Ryu approached Shinji and they decided to become a team of best mage wannabes. Mitsuko grinned and nodded, suddenly having respect for them, before rushing up to the three boys. "Hey," she said, crossing her arms. "Looks like you don't have any female members of your little team. Mind if I join? I wouldn't mind being powerful. Not one bit."
Mitsuko sat up abruptly, startled out of her mind. The two boys yelling at each other was enough to disturb her slumber, but the book slamming down on the table was what really jerked her out of her mindless state. Her eyes were wide with tiredness, but she made her way to the font at the teacher's command. Another kid was already up there, one of the ones who was yelling and who, from what she could remember, was accused of being related to a traitor or something like that. She went to stand next to him and gave him a small, tired smile.
