By all means, feel free to interrupt what is going on. It would solve things fairly efficiently.

Coming from you (and given the recent dispute between you and Green) I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

Your straw man argument is noted.

Yet that argument more or less is what you yourself are saying.

Stop trying to apply hardcore logic to an RP that pretty oozes Rule of Cool from its every opening.

I'll believe it when I sees it.

I'm sure you will.

That's basically what I have been saying. You can't expect to fondle a bullet for a post or more and expect it to defeat a more logical prepped defense.

I also don't expect people to dodge bullets and lasers and lift MBTs as though they were rag dolls.

But hey, here we are.

.....How in the world is that going to make the armor piercing rounds more powerful? Why should they not have had the same destructive force without the benefit of this special reloading. I think one has to remember preps are only really needed for very powerful special abilities, you don't need a special ritual to shoot a gun, you just do. Hence the benefit of guns and such in the first place.Edit: So with Keezheekoni and seemingly now Kholodny gone, I could probably just say they were captured and hence ho the Empire will learn about the omnicron.

I think you're desperately trying to compare and contrast the inherent weaknesses of ranged weapons over melee weapons. I was under the impression they were more or less equal.

Also, what Sch said is correct, for not all rounds perform equally against all substances. DU rounds would deliver excellent results against armored targets, but would fall short when striking unarmored targets. On the contrast, hollow-point ammunition (which devastates unarmored targets) is ideal for wiping out enemy's unprotected with ballistic armor, but they deliver lackluster results when used against foes wearing body armor.

Anyway, I'm going to post in Necropili (or whatever it is called) pretty soon (at least at the end of the night or so).

You guys of course are talking about sci-fi theoretical technology.

No, we're also talking about current technology as well.

GreivousKhan said
So you agree you have to make up some sci-fi tech in order to compensate.

No.

Cheap, but heavy. One of the advantage-s that magic does give you is having a wide selection of spells without any weight penalty. Healling, omni-hazardous protection, highly effective situational attacks and whole lot of other stuff - having all that in tech requires a lot of equipment and heavy-duty transport, whilst arcane powers allow to avoid the hussle. That is why i preffer a soft blend of technology and magic. :3

I don't think weight is a major issue in a universe where characters can lift 100 or more tons.

Khan thinks that magic (or supernatural powers) beats tech, 9 times out of 10.

That's hilarious.

Faction Name: Gearshift
Faction Type: Contested Planetary Body/Anarchy/Theocratic Technocracy
Species: Highlanders
The term 'Highlander' is a catch-all label for the many sub-species of Humanity native to the wasteland world of Gearshift
Scale and Territory: Brief overview of major bodies in the faction’s control and general information on their area of influence. Include a scale rating based on the chart in the Scale hider.
Culture: Dominant culture of the faction, such as religion and social mannerisms. You may also want to include details on how the government is run and the influences the culture/government has on faction’s species, economy, and territory.
History: A summary of the faction’s origins and major events involving the faction
Technology:

Gearshift's weapons technology is rather basic, though unusually-advbanced given the world's brutal history. Roarers, the designation given to the savage dust storms inherent to Gearshift's biosphere, make some types of technology impossible to utilize on her surface, such as laser weapons, particle weaponry, flying machines that make use vulnerable (such as jet-powered fighters or helicopters), motion trackers, radar systems

Military Forces: Completely in the air, honestly. The number of Bestia Mechanicae, Ferrum Hominis and Rex Oceanus on Gearshift is unknown, while no one is in a particular hurry to gauge the martial prowess of the world's raider groups, cults, towns, villages, and underground bunkers. Eternal-Holds, however, typcially play host to a substantional amount of defending gun inplacements

I thought the give and take of technology was that you had to explain everything you were doing...You can always overclock equipment to produce better results...

That's silly, considering it gives one side the option to crank the handwavium up to 11 while the other side is severely constrained by the laws of physics.

I also can't possibly see how some of the more 'mundane' technologies can be overclocked, like a Mosin-Nagant.
