;) All right. I've got that quickdraw, y'know?

The launch pad at the International Space Center of the One World Alliance.

BWFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

The exploration ship lifted off of the ground with a primal roar, rattling Alex in his seat. Even though he was strapped down, he was flung back and forth, shaking against the straps. Eventually, the crushing force found a direction, and pushed downwards. He didn't even know who was in the pilot's seat, next to him. Eyes being squeezed from the pressure, he shut them tightly, and for the rest of the ascent into space, clutched the armrests of the chair as if they were his lifeline. When they reached orbital level, he exhaled raggedly, panting in his suit. Opening his eyes slowly, he pushed the button on the control panel that would release the seat straps. Pushing himself out of the large-backed chair, he pulled a switch that slowly turned the gravity generator on. Tearing the helmet off of his face, he hung it on a hook on the wall. Turning to the pilot, he said, "Well, it would seem that we made it up in one piece. Didn't think we would make it, what with all the banging around."
Reverend John McDougal saw that the world was going to hell. So he did the only thing he knew how. He prayed. He had locked himself in his office, in the Orthodox church, and drew the curtains, keeping the room dark. However, he knew that he had to leave. Taking everything he could, he unlocked the window, jumped outside, and made his way to the apartment building, where several of his flock had lived. Ducking past gunfire and explosions, which were down the street, illuminating shambling figures in a ball of flame. Just as he made his way to through the doors, the President had appeared on the TV's grainy screen, and gave such a cryptic reply to the reporter's comment, that there was one second of frustrated, angry, rioting reporters, before going back to some tripe about the weather. John looked about the lobby, and saw the scared, tired faces of the people. Some of them he knew from his church, and others, he didn't recognize. Letting the door close behind him, he said, "Is everyone all right? Is anyone missing?"

One of his flock came forward and grabbed him by the arm. "Reverend, most er'body is 'ere, but we don' know if th' upper levels are clear." Rubbing his chin, he thought for a moment. Indecisive in all the chaos, he gathered several members of his church around him. "Let us gather in prayer. Lord, as we gather here today, we ask for your guidance...." As he prayed with his congregation, several of those around them either joined in, or simply snorted and went back to watching the television, the streets, or glancing nervously at the fireball across the street.
My Character:

Name: Research Officer Alexander Johns
Age: 26
Height/Weight: 5'1"/125 lb.
Appearance:
Dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes. Hair that falls down to his eyebrows, covers up a horizontal scar above his left eye.
Personality: Alex is quite the attractive figure, and he knows it. He is quite arrogant, gaining him a considerable reputation as a narcissist among the base research staff. He is intelligent, conceited, and able to live up to his boasting. He is touchy about his height, and will lash out, pouting. When something goes wrong, he immediately blames it on someone or something else. Despite all of this, he is able to know when to shut up, and has a kind side under all of his self-absorption.

(I made this character easy to dislike, so character development happens.)
Sure, alright. Gotcha. Thanks for the help!
Hello, can I have my character start off in the church, where he is the pastor? I'll have him quickly leave, and attempt to get to the apartment building, but if I can't, that's fine too.
The Last Star

The stars.... they're all gone. They vanished twenty years ago. We look up into the night sky, and all we see is Luna, our moon. This year, we launched the first of many exploration vessels. We need to find out what happened.

So yeah, the basic idea is that an exploration vessel that holds two people, which is meant to sustain them for hundreds of years (cryogenic sleep), is shot off towards Alpha Centari. At least, where it was. So the two people on board are the researcher/science officer (me) and the pilot/engineer (you). I would prefer if you played a female, but it's cool if you play a male.
....said the spider, to the fly. Welcome! My name is Athinar, but you could call me Captain. Captain Fabulous. I'm looking for a partner for one of the following storylines.

The Last Star

A hard sci-fi exploration RP, in which all but one star, Sol, has vanished. Humanity has launched a two-man exploration ship to find out what suddenly enveloped the universe in darkness. Looking for a female partner, but can do male as well.
(MxF/MxM, mature content fade to black, hard science fiction, romance, mystery/horror.)

The Lonely Way

A fantasy travel RP, in which two people meet on the road between two nations, currently at war, and travel together, enduring the hardships therein.
(MxF, Mature Content in PMs, travel, romance)

A Pure Soul

The last innocent man on earth has been unjustly tried, and imprisoned. He faces death, unless the two people, a Defense Attorney and an Investigative Journalist, can work together, even through all of their vices, and set him free.
(MxF, Mature Content in PMs, modern-day, noir setting, moralistic)

These are only a few, out of many ideas to come. PM me to join one, as I want to keep this post uncluttered.
So yeah, sent you a message, then decided to put it here anyways.

Oh, and could everyone who is posting a CS put it in the Character Sheets tab? Keeps clutter out of the OOC tab, and makes it easier to view each individual CS.
