Shannon & Bull - Haywood/Infirmary - EVERYONE THERE (You know who you are)

When Henry entered the infirmary, Shannon lifted her head in his direction. He was followed by a rather large man holding...

"What?" Shannon uttered in complete shock. Here eyes widened to the point of almost falling out of her eye sockets as she watched the man with the lumberjack arms carry the woman to a bed.

Bull didn't notice Shannon nor did he even look in her direction. His focus was entirely on Lauren as he dropped her down on a bed, his clothes now stained with blood. Though he had been keeping it in control in the truck, tears began streaming down his face and into his bushy beard. She was such a beautiful and powerful woman. To see her in the state she was in was a mockery of her entire existence. For Lauren to come crashing down after so long was one cruelty Bull couldn't understand. He leaned down on the bed and gripped at the sheets. "Please, god, someone please do something!"

Shannon stared at the man's back, practically drilling a hole through him with her gaze. It took everything in her not to throw herself out the door. "Daniel," she whispered, grabbing for his arm. "Daniel, that man was a raider. He tried to kill James and I..." She trailed off, realizing she couldn't sit here any longer. She burst out of her seat, her exhaustion melting away to make way for flooding adrenaline. "He's a murderer!" she yelled. "You can't let him in here!"

Bull turned around, his eyes red and puffy from crying. He shook his head at this girl, having no idea what she was talking about. "I don't understand-"

"You were with Tyler! I will never ever forget your face! You tried to kill a fourteen year old boy!"

Bull continued to shake his head, but eventually his mouth went agape with realization. She was right. She was that girl who got the slip on him. He watched her silently as she continued to demand that he be locked up. He was too distraught- too tired- to even come up with something to say to this. So Bull only stood there, a silent giant.
Shannon, Emma & Daniel - Haywood/Infirmary - Valentina

Shannon was sitting in the infirmary, still in a bit of shock. She lowered her head and absently rubbed at her shoulder. It was feeling sore, probably because of how tense she'd been trying to calm the girl down. After the stabbing and all of the blood, Shannon wasn't sure she wanted to come into this room ever again.

She looked up when Daniel entered the infirmary. He looked around for a moment before making a beeline toward Shannon. "Is everything okay?" he asked. "Where's Emma?"

Shannon leaned back in the chair and pointed toward the beds. Emma sat closer to them, looking at Valentina. "Said she wanted to talk to the girl, but she hasn't mustered the nerve to do it yet, I guess."

Daniel looked toward his sister and nodded. "Alright, is the girl okay?" Shannon shook her head, though she let out a sigh as she did so. Daniel's face turned back to her, concerned. "Are you okay?"

Shannon smiled. "I'll be okay, I just wasn't expecting all of this to happen today."

Daniel moved to sit next to her. "Neither was I."

Shannon leaned on the rest with her good arm. "Do you want to hang out tonight? Play cards or something?" Daniel hesitated at first, but he eventually nodded.

Closer to Valentina, Emma finally stirred from her seat. She got up and approached the bed, her eyes on the handcuff holding Valentina to the post. "You didn't tell me your name," she said.

Are you still accepting?

Yep.
The Bull - Farm - Katie

Bull crouched low, holding Katie close to him. His while body was shaking and he could barely contain himself. His adrenaline was soaring, but not because he felt his own life was in danger. It was because of Lauren, who was still stuck back at that damned farmhouse. He could barely see her through the brush, but when shots started firing, Bull felt like his heart stopped.

Katie managed to wiggle out of his grasp in his shocked state and she made a beeline for Lauren. The big man had no choice but to chase after her. He broke out of the foliage just in time to see the man behind Lauren take aim and fire. "Lauren!" Bull shouted, his voice strained with fear. This couldn't be happening, not now. As Katie was about to reach Lauren, the older woman cried out in pain and tripped over herself, slamming into Katie. The pair fell into a heap and all Bull could do was yell out Lauren's name repeatedly.

When he reached the fallen pair, his body wracked with heaving breaths. His entire body shook even more violently than before as he attempted to help Lauren up. His gaze was drawn to her leg, now sickeningly bloody. "Lauren. Lauren..." Bull pulled Lauren closer to him, but he took a sharp intake of breath when he saw the wound on her head. She'd hit the ground hard, knocking her unconscious. He felt for her pulse and found her heart still beating, but he still felt tears sting at his eyes. Sobs overtook him as he held Lauren closer to him. "God, no... Lauren, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."
Lauren - Farm - Elliot

A shot rang out, whizzing above Lauren's head. Having felt the bullet just barely miss her, Lauren found herself crying out in fright. She muttered under her breath a string of, "No... No, no, no!" How could she have been so dumb? Why did she think the farm would be safe? Why did she think anywhere would be safe?

Lauren rose slightly to get a better look into the brush. She looked for Bull and Katie, but could not see either of them in the tall foliage. "Okay, okay," she said to herself. "Let's go." She began to move from her spot on the wall when a man with an automatic weapon emerged from the side of the house. He trained his gun on her and Lauren quickly raised her hands, freezing in place.

"Maddam, if you move I'll have to shoot, so please, don't," he said. Lauren didn't doubt him, but his voice had lacked something. It was something she had heard most every day back in the Catacombs. It was in all of those raiders, even sometimes Bull. She believed this man would shoot her, but she didn't think he had it in him to kill her.

She heard further gunshots, indicating that this guy had friends around the farmhouse. If they were willing to shoot at her for just wandering by, she understood what kinds of people they were. They were no better than Tyler, willing to step on whomever threatened their ideal world. She had just gotten away from these kinds of people, had just gotten Katie away from these kinds of people. She couldn't associate with these kinds of people anymore. She would die first.

That was why Lauren took a chance. Another man spoke up, and the man aiming at her turned his attention away. She immediately bolted toward the foliage. Toward Bull and Katie. Maybe the guy aiming at her would be sympathetic enough to let her go, but she wasn't counting on it. All she knew for sure was that she could never surrender, not now and not ever.
Shannon - Haywood/Infirmary - O'Connor/Rob/Emma/Brianna/Valentina

Shannon's brow furrowed at the doctor's initial assessment of her. The idea that he'd say no to her hadn't even crossed her mind. She looked toward the little girl and the incapacitated nurse, realizing a desire to help that she just couldn't ignore. She cursed her arm for betraying her desires and she cursed the man who had almost destroyed her arm completely. Shannon was about to argue with the doctor when he leaned in toward her ear and whispered curt instructions. Shannon nodded a bit dumbly.

She walked up to the bed and swallowed down a lump in her throat. She examined the sickly girl intently for a moment before placing her good hand over hers. Shannon gave the hand a small squeeze and found it almost frightening how smaller this girl's hand was compared to her own. These small hands had pointed a gun at her. Had stabbed someone. What kind of world was this, where a little girl could become the... thing laying before her?

"I'm Shannon," she eventually managed to say. Words then began to pour out of her. "Shannon Anne Greene. I don't like it very much. My friend used to make fun of me, called me Anne of Green Gables. You know the book, right? I never read it, couldn't even be bothered. Another friend of mine dragged me to this play adaptation. It was so boring, I couldn't believe it. She really liked the book, but I don't think even she liked the play very much. I don't know if it was the acting, or..." She trailed off, blinking at tears. When did she start tearing up?

Shannon sniffed and wiped her eyes on her shoulder. "It's going to be okay. It's really going to be okay."
Lauren - Farm - Katie

"It's going to be okay," she whispered back. "If they're mean, we'll let them be."

Lauren pushed through the brush at a slow pace, cautious of whatever potential danger the farm held. Bull followed along behind her, a silent giant. When they reached the clearing, Lauren quickened her pace slightly. She stopped in the middle of the farmhouse's backyard and looked up at the house in an attempt to see into the windows. She thought she saw a flicker of movement for just a moment, but it was gone before Lauren could register it. Shaking her head, she placed Katie down next to Bull. "Watch her for a second," she said, her tone indicating she was in no mood for discussion. Bull only crossed his arms, letting out a deep sigh. He looked off to the side, his expression not unlike a grumpy ol' lumberjack.

Lauren stepped away from the pair to move toward the house. She tried to catch a better look of the inside, but the view between the boarded up windows was slim to none. With slight hesitation, Lauren went to knock on the front door.

Then, suddenly; "Hey fucker, you better put your hands up or the knee's go first!"

The shout had come from the other side of the house, but Lauren began to panic anyway. She spun around toward Bull and wildly motioned with her hand for him to get down. As she watched Bull grab Katie and pull her back into he brush, Lauren dropped to her knees, pushing up against the side of the house. Her hands were shaking slightly and she formed them into fists in an attempt to calm them. She considered making a break for it into the brush, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Not a single part of Lauren's body dared to move, anchoring her to the spot.
The Bull - Woods - Katie

Bull paused in his effort to find firewood. He stared at Lauren, who kept her back to him as she searched for fallen branches. "Lauren," he said, but she didn't even acknowledge him. He started walking toward her. "Lauren, what's wrong?" When she still didn't respond, Bull pulled at her arm, forcing her to face him. "Why are you mad at me?"

Lauren rolled her eyes and pulled away from him. She began walking away at a brisk pace. "Lauren, come on!" Bull exclaimed, giving chase. When he caught up to her, he grabbed her arm so she couldn't run away this time.

"Let go of me, Bull," she said heatedly.

Bull shook his head. "I don't want to fight."

"I don't either, so just stop." After a few seconds of staring into Lauren's intense glare, Bull sighed and let go of her arm. She silently went back to grabbing for sticks, but sighed angrily when Bull decided to just stare at her. "You going to help?"

"Why don't you wanna talk to me? What's with you?"

Lauren shook her head. "I think I should be asking you that... That little girl is trying her best, you know."

Bull blinked at her confusedly. "... What?"

"Katie! She's trying so hard and all you ever do is complain about her. I thought you had my back but you can't even be bothered to help me take care of one little girl. You told me your mother died, why can't you have one ounce of sympathy?"

Bull crossed his arms and grunted. "I barely remember my mum! She'll get over it!"

"Oh my god." Lauren dropped her collected sticks and threw her hands into the air. "This is why I didn't want to talk about this. You're practically a child." She turned around and walked away further into the woods. Bull jogged after her, matching her pace to follow behind her.

"I'm taking care of you and her. How can you say I'm not trying?" Lauren shook her head and didn't bother to dignify that with a response. "I'm fuckin' tired and hungry, Lauren, give me a break."

Then, Lauren stopped in her tracks, causing Bull to bump into her. "Okay, now can you be civil-"

"Bull." Lauren pointed forward, beyond the trees and toward a farm in the distance. The pair stood and stared at what they were seeing.

Lauren dropped down next to Katie and shook the girl awake. "Katie? Katie, honey. We saw a farm. We need to go check it out."
Bex - Outpost/Cabin - Enrique

Bex shook his head and said, "No, I'm fine." He swallowed down the rest of his drink. "I'm really fine. Go ahead and pour me another, Tom."

"As much as you want, Bex. Drink up." Tyler poured a second glass for Bex before returning to his own glass.

"Enrique, we're going to find corpses just about everywhere we go." He chuckled into his wine glass. "They might be mad about the mess we made at the front step, but I'm sure they'll be relieved we're okay." He offered Enrique the bottle. "Another." He began pouring Enrique a second glass. "Listen, me, you and Bex, we watch each other's backs. If someone tries to do us harm, one of us will do them harm back, alright? But until we know for that these guys mean to mess with us, we have to give them the benefit of the doubt." He paused to place the wine bottle down. He was silent for a moment while he stared at Enrique. Eventually, Tyler nodded. "When we head out there for this scouting mission, we never let each other out of our sights. Right now it's looking like it'll be three against three, but chances are they'll be bringing more guys."

"Watch my back out there, Enrique, like I watched out for yours."

Hey, can Hazel find a really old, bad smelling motel with zombies inside?

Yeah, that sounds good to me.
Shannon - Haywood/Infirmary - Rob/Emma/O'Connor/Brianna

Shannon helped Rob get Valentina on to the bed. It was a rough process with Shannon only being able to contribute with one arm. When it was done, she quickly backed off and stood next to Emma while the medical personnel attended to the little girl.

"Oh my god," she exclaimed when the nurse was attacked. Shannon wanted to step forward and do something, but instead she grabbed Emma by the arm, pulling her further back from the scene. A part of her felt like she was also responsible for keeping Emma safe. She had shot at the girl and Shannon couldn't help but feel responsible for her kidnapping by the raiders. Although, neither Daniel or Shannon had brought up the incident to Emma, so as far as she knew, she had only met Shannon in Haywood. Shannon wanted to tell her one day, but the right time never came up.

When the doctor asked for volunteers, Shannon stepped forward. "I want to help, though I can only offer one hand."
