The Abandoned Bar the Creation of Order

Sorry this took so long.

Name: Unknown, though he calls himself John because of his 'John Doe' hospital bracelet.

Age: Unknown, looks late twenties or early thirties.

Gender: Male.

Race: Human.

Appearance: Slim build, average height with medium length dark brown wavy hair and blue eyes. His most prominent feature is his sharp aquiline nose.

Magic: Adept in Illusion. Mostly he can only use his magic for small things, like making a drawing appear to come to life, or making something appear that isn't there. He has been getting stronger with practice.

Equipment: None, though he does carry a pencil around with him at all times, and his keeps his old hospital bracelet with him.

Personality: John's mind is in a fragile state, though it seems like he was always a sensitive man who leaned more towards the artistic and spiritual side of life. He fluctuates between being a chatterbox and being very quiet out of embarrassment because of his struggles with remembering words. Despite this, he is very friendly with the regulars at the bar and finds them very encouraging. He loves to be around them and hates being alone. It would take a lot to make him mad, but not much at all to hurt his feelings. There is a certain wide-eyed ignorant innocence about him.

History: John remembers nothing of his life before waking up in a hospital to people asking him questions about who he was and what happened to him. He was originally found by a passer-by. He was lying in a ditch on a long stretch of highway in the dead of winter, presumably very far away from home. The good citizen called for an ambulance at once and he was taken to the nearest hospital. After an accidental display of one of his illusions, the Order soon swooped in and took him somewhere safe and away from the prying eyes of the general public. Their main interests were keeping him safe, figuring out who he was and trying to find out who had taught him his magical skills. With that they began trying to rebuild his memories with limited success. He can't remember specific names, places, or people, but some memories are implicit. For example, he already knew how to speak, but he had to re-learn the English language, though it was very easy for him learn it again. He is also very adept at drawing and he recently found out that he could play the piano very well even though he doesn't remember learning and can't read music. It isn't clear if his memories from before are gone forever or just buried. Despite his progress, it's clear that is mind was damaged somehow, sometimes he can't connect the dots and complex things confuse him. John lives and works at the bar, cleaning up the place and washing the dishes. When the Order asked if he wanted to get a small apartment of his own, he declined. John wanted to stay at the bar, since nowhere else would feel like home.

Name: Zachery Travers
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Asexual
Job: Librarian

Appearance: (I hope a description is fine by itself; I hate trying to find pictures) Zach is a tall, lanky man who could easily be described as bony. His facial features, especially his nose, are sharp and aquiline. It would be accurate to describe his nose as a beak, and if you did he would probably agree with you. This contrasts with his medium length curly auburn hair which is almost always an unstyled mess. He also has blue eyes and long thin fingers, which are almost always cold. Zach makes it a priority to dress neat, usually wearing dark slacks, dress shirts and his favorite black duffle coat.

Personality: Zachery is child-like in nearly every way. He has a serious love of anything fun that extends to outdoor activities like hiking and sports, (though he is abysmal at sports) and indoor activities like board games or even crafts. He will do anything except watch television. Zach's general manner walks the line between childish and flat out immature; it wouldn't be odd to hear him giggling like a girl or blowing a raspberry. It's not in his nature to talk seriously about anything. Though he loves acting silly he wont stoop to pranks because he knows that people's feelings get hurt. He is an entirely different person when he is at work, however. At the library he is quiet, studious and entirely task-focused. Zach is also very pliable and can be easily convinced to do just about anything with no questions asked. Appropriately, he has a fear of the dark despite being an adult. It is a fear that he never grew out of and only got worse as he got older. He is not a person of the world and is often amazed by sights that well traveled people would call trivial. In general, he is friendly with most people and wants to be liked, though he can be selfish at times. He also loves the outdoors and likes to sketch as an amateur hobby.

Background: Zachery grew up in upstate New York's suburbs with his adopted family; his two parents Jack and Marsha, and his sister Angela. His adoption was never a secret. His parents told him once he was old enough and they were a healthy happy family. Zach never found out who his real parents were and he never wanted to know, just thinking about why they would have given him up would depress and anger him. Besides, his adopted parents were good to him, so he never gave his biological parents a second thought. School was different however, and throughout his entire education he was singled out and teased because of his gangly frame and his lack of a dating life. He took solace in books and piano lessons, and although he was good at playing, he never really continued past high school. Zach was quiet in school and wild at home. In college he met his best friend Brian Hanson, and the two became roommates soon after that. After college training he became a librarian for a public library and has been there for two years. A week ago Zachery received a letter informing him that his biological parents were killed in a car accident. The shock of finding out who his real parents were at the same time hearing about their death was trying, so Brian convinced Zach to let him tag along on a vacation to Deer Mountain.

Accommodations:

Quirks: Zach can't help but fidget when he gets bored, and will unconsciously tap his fingers in a piano playing motion when he has to sit still for a long time. He never reads during the daytime, only before bed, though this might be an excuse to leave the light on for as long as possible. The stress of the past week has led to him leaving the light on at all times instead of just when he's reading. Zach also doesn't deal with anger and fights well, and tends to either shut down mentally or hide in a different room.
