It actually was a tourny. Just a small free thing tho. Three rounds. I forfeited a match because I was late.
It wasn't anything excruciating like the time you had. The only painful thing would have been the slight awkwardness in the air. People weren't very outgoing towards the solo guy who showed up out of the blue.

It was a little more uneventful then I would have imagined.
I've bought the little 2014 Deck Builders toolkit thing (so like... 200 commons basically) and have thrown in like 4 boosters not including the ones it came with. I'm trying not to buy singles right now. I like the idea of trying to make a deck out of the tools I have. And I don't want to netdeck or anything of the sort. I did however buy four Gruul Guildgate's because they were an obvious thing that I needed to help my little hodgepodge of a deck.
I think that once I actually get a decent deck together that I like I'll look at adding singles to improve it.
But yeah! First time actually playing with actual cards. It was neat.
