Completely separate. Keyblades are not used; Social Links will be a thing to a degree. So yeah. Rather then use the "Key to your heart metaphor" with a key like thing, you're actions will determine how much light and dark is in you. Of course, the actions also can pass as negative or positive based on another's perception. In short, can seem evil to another, but still count as a light action. So yes, I hope I answered the questions that go with that.

Sounds more so on the lines of a Spiritual successor but I'm interested to some degree. Whether I join depends on the OOC and if there's going to be a sense of direction rather than people just skipping from world to world for no reason at all.

Shoske kept a calm expression the entire time, seeing the man unsheathed his blade. Shoske tightened his grip on his zanpakuto, grabbing the young girl an jumping back I gain more distance. He put her down "Get back" He said in a serious tone. She nodded, running behind a tree and poking her head out to watch. "You said that you didn't plan on fighting today yet you led me away from the Sereitei. Why? So you can assassinate me that's why. That brings the real question, how many others did you lead here before eating their souls!!?" Seteno yelled as the man shunpoed within physical range, proceeding to swing at his right shoulder afterwards. Being the skilled fighter that he was, Seteno managed to roll out of the way just in the nick of time which was a feat all in itself. "Looks like it's my time to shine!!" After rolling to the other end of the branch(Yep a pretty big branch), he pulled his Zanpakuto back before attempting to swing downwards. Unfortunately, the tree was plotting against him by grabbing hold of his Slasher Mechanica which caused it to become stuck inside of it. "Slasher!!! Damn, you might have bested me but I've been beaten by Shinigami who defeated me in less time than this!! Wait!!! What the hell is that thing!!?" Seteno , pointing at the imaginary Hollow that was resting in the middle of the plains. One could tell that his fighting skills were borderline terrible, making one probably wonder how many times did he enroll in Shino academy before passing.

Wait so if it's in this case the future, then we can skip Kiri's test of worth(Even though he was just going to show you the remains of a fearsome Hollow that he and Tsushiro fought)and just up right make him part of the 4th Division!!? Well I did make him solely to join this squad so I shouldn't be that surprised anyway XD
