Random people that Liza vaguely knew rarely ever tried to simply โstrike upโ a conversation with herโmuch less in the hallways. Most โconversationsโ she had in the hallways began with โHey bitch!โ, some other obscene variant, a threat, or a simple shove in the back. Thus Thomasโ sudden appearance gave Liza quite the start as she closed her locker to look up and find the longhaired Crow boy staring down at her and talking. Impulsively her hand shot forward, whacking him across the face with her bagged lunch of spicy tuna, chocolate pudding, and capri sun.
She gasped and retracted her hand almost as quickly as sheโd shot it forward. โOopsโฆ sorry,โ she grimaced, โYou startled me.โ
She put her hand on the offended cheek and scoffed. โHowโs your face?โ she smiled apologetically.
โGeez, you should be a ninja assassin or something," she joked, laughing-- even if he didn't, she at least found it pretty funny. She'd never whacked anyone in the face with a tuna sandwich before.
Thomas Crow. Liza had only ever had a few classes with himโhe was one of the smart kids that took the honors classes and got straight Aโs and free ice cream at the end of every semester for academic awesomeness or whatever they called it. More importantly, however, Thomas Crow was one of the few people on Sierra Williamโs mysterious list.
She suddenly remembered heโd just asked her why she was on the list. Wellโฆ wasnโt he a blunt one. Not that she mindedโshe preferred getting to the point as opposed to dancing around the subject. That didnโt change the fact that it was none of his business, howeverโฆ even if she did know the reason. Crossing her arms, Liza shrugged nonchalantly, โI donโt know why Iโm on the list.โ
She smirked, โMaybe she had a crush on us.โ She slowly started walking towards the lunch room, giving Thomas the chance to follow her if he still wanted to talk. But in the meantime-- she was hungry.
