I'm contemplating on switching Runner for Spinnerette.
Damn, 10 pages since my last post. I get the feeling I'm the only female player but I don't know if that's true or not. Anyways, to join the conversations:
That's one reason I use Samus, because her personality was mostly implied than outright developed. I've also put my own twist on how a couple of her items work, and will be creating some in the near future.

Same reason I chose Link. His personality isn't that developed, because it's supposed to be the player's story. I figured he'd be perfect for this.

Same reason I have Steve. He basically has no personality in Minecraft so playing him with the player's mind works but there's still the influence of the character.

And why I chose to play Chell and Runner instead of going with my previous characters: Shizuka/Belwicket, Himeno, Shivani, I can't even remember any of the others.
Of course. Why wouldn't we plan on bringing in antagonists? Also, since that stupid thread title's really irritating me I'll start a new, properly titled thread after Hyrule is done. And since this is proving to still have its usual staying power I'll also likely put up an antagonist thread after we finish the second world, just to make sure I'm not jinxing it.

Plus, even with that ability, she still seems a bit underpowered somehow, but I can't put a finger on why that is. I made her and Chell more as a team, not too much into combat (goddess knows we have more than enough in that department) but able to help in the puzzles because, frankly, they both come from puzzle games. I might be able to add stuff to Runner but I can't think of anything atm.
