The Mirage Lab

4 years ago there was a small town called Mirage. It had stood for a decade but on that fateful day, it fell. On that fateful day earthquakes, tornados, floods, disease, hurricanes, and all manners of disaster fell upon the town. The town was wiped off the map. No one survived. A year after that fateful day a mysterious company bought the land that Mirage had stood on. They built a huge facility. It had three main sections. Education, Residential, and Lab. The company, Fall, took children and brought them to the building, which they named after the town. And so children were taken by Fall to Mirage. Within the building they were educated in the Education area, they lived in Residential, and they were lab rats in Lab. This is the story of some of those kids.

Mirage did different kinds of experiments. From drugs, to abilities, to part animals. But, all of the children were experimented on in some way. And they were all kidnapped when they were young.

Past before fostering: As a young child Kami couldn't control her power. She would randomly grow wings. Her parents despised both Kami and her wings. When she was three her parents locked here out of the house. And since Kami was going to refill their bird feeder she was holding bird food. Well, the birds around Kami's house were very aggressive and attacked her. They caused many scars and Kami was unlucky enough to lose her vision to them. Kami slowly learned how to navigate without being able to see. She also learn des how to control her power. A few years later Kami and her parents went on a camping trip. They didn't hate her as much now that she could control her power. On the trip her parents encountered snakes, poisonous ones. Kami was lucky to escape, but her parents not so much. Kami was then taken to an orphanage, where he made sure not to show her wings,

Chi stood in the kitchen, mixing pancake batter. The children would be up. Chi still liked to call the other residents children, even if they were older, as long as they were younger than her, to Chi they would still be children.

Nyu
Nyu slithered up to the front of the magic boarding house. Her white scales sliding across the ground. Nyu went up the stairs and gathered her wits and knocked on the door.

Chi
Chi put down the spoon she was stirring with and opened the front door, letting Nyu inside. She then told her to sit at the table and wait for the other residents to wake up. Chi then returned to making pancakes.
