Kyo looked at the girl.
"I'm Kyo, I'm a wizard, though I can't control my magic at all. It's nice to meet you," She said. She really hoped that Galen wouldn't surprise her again, she didn't want to hurt the girl. That would be mean. Kyo looked at the ground nervously, unsure of what to do next.

There can be mythical ones but they won't have any special attributes. Gryffins would be able to fly, unicorns would be like horses, Pegasi would be able to fly, etc.

Mahō No Ko, the Magical Children

Mahō No Ko
Children ages 7-18 who made contracts with spirit animals. After forming a contract a Mahō no ko loses it's memories. However they gain they can control their spirit animal's element. Mahō no ko's have to transform and morph with their spirit animal to fight Kemono. When these children transform not only do they get to control an element, they also get a weapon.

Kemono
Kemono are the manifestation of everything evil. They could have been anything. A bad test, a dead pet, a Mahō no ko who turned evil. Kemono have different strength levels depending on how evil the original object/thing/animal.

Setting
A utopian seeming world where everything is perfect. But the only reason that there is perfection is because many children risk their lives everyday to keep the peace. The city is Machi, An ordinary town. It has many apartment complexes and businesses. Everyone has a home and a well paying job. Everyone gets to go to school. Life is perfect. No one gets sick.

Spirit Animals
Spirit animals take the form of baby animals. They have both a color and an element. When their Mahō no ko transforms their outfit is mostly the color of their spirit animal. Some Mahō no ko merge with their spirit animal when they transform, taking on some of its characteristics.

Kumo lifted Sugo off her face and returned the spider to it's cage. She then stood up with Suko and quickly ate the web knit over her face, something she liked to do for fun, and both of the girls did little bows.
