"I think what our dear paladin is trying to say is that there are many stories that float around about druids, and you do not fit them. So she is thanking you for teaching her the truth of those in tune with nature. Isn't that right Lily?" Eranah said with a smile before turning back to her previous conversation. "I meant your human culture. What did they think, who was the main god of your town, how did you organize yourselves, what were your people good at? The culture you spent your entire life around. Deva culture is a bit less taught as it is simply known to all Deva. Humans, well they develop their own cultures based on not memory but belief. It is a very interesting thing."
Eranah laughed a bit at the rather literal response. She knew it was her own doing but it was funny to her all the same. "I apologize, that wasn't what I meant. I know plenty of the lifespans of half-elves, I meant your culture. Your people, I doubt you spent much time amongst the various species of elves. Though I'm sure you received some education on such things from your elven parent. So to rephrase the question. Why don't you tell me about your people?"
"In a sense yes, we live long lives and eventually our bodies do die. However our soul returns to the astral sea and eventually we are reborn. Deva though don't fully remember their past lives, but we do get flashes at times. There are also those who learn to summon astral projections of past lives to provide aid in combat or wise council. So we do not fear death, but we do have some worry about losing what we are at the time." Eranah explained, she had met a few Deva, some that were newborns and some that were incredibly powerful by most standards. "Now that you know of my people, why don't you tell me of yours?" She said with a smile as she calmly leaned back in the seat.
"My rebirth happened not too far from the path to this place. I stayed near the site of my creation, as I mentioned. I did some traveling of course, holy sites and cities where great tales of the gods and their emissaries were born. Though I always came back, the call to help was too powerful there. One day though, a messenger arrived for the head priest, requesting his help in the clearing of a demonic cult that had arisen. Well there were volunteers certainly, but I was the eldest member to do so. Due to my relative experience I was chosen to go in the name of Ilmater. So I am here now." Eranah responded, climbing into the wagon herself and taking a seat, giving Vis a look at his wince and attempt to play things off. Once again she wouldn't force healing on him if he didn't want any, but if it was as painful as it seemed, she had to wonder why he would brush off the chance at healing.
"Not the worst fight I've seen. Though that is a blessing, and I doubt it will remain." She said as she at least checked over what part of the wound she could see before he turned around. It was sealed and would heal given time. While a part of her wanted to render aid, she had to respect Vis' decision. As the wound was not life threatening she had no reason to force aid onto him. If he wanted to bear his suffering for whatever reason, she wouldn't press the issue. "What ultimately made you decide to come on this journey?" She asked, noting the attempt at conversation and trying to continue.
Eranah had not failed to notice the wound on Vis' back. Walking over once she had finished healing the druid. "Are you sure you wouldn't prefer me to simply heal you up now? Your injury isn't particularly serious with the job you've done, but at the very least I can greatly accelerate the healing process." She offered as she already moved to stand behind him. Keeping her hands at her sides until she had permission.
"I know the blueprints of the temple as well as the architects themselves." Gar replied to the master, immediately leading him and his group to maintenance shafts built into the oldest designs of the building that had gone unused for quite some time. Leading the way he entered the old shaft, keeping as quiet as possible while still moving quickly. He had no idea how long they had before more troopers might arrive. "My specialties are in stealth, programming, and engineering. You may find this information useful Drell, or perhaps not. You will likely be a better strategist than myself." He said quietly as they worked through the shafts.
Eranah jogged over to the paladin in time to hear the two injured compatriots bickering over who needed help more. She kneeled beside Lily and looked over the injury, only sparing a glance to Lammy. "Lammy will be fine, his injury can wait though it will hurt. Yours is more serious. Now, with the matter settled I will begin my work." Calmly stated the cleric, enjoying combined worry and bravado on display. She placed her hands over the wound before saying a prayer of healing and channeling the divine energy granted her into the wound. Halting the bleeding and closing the skin as it also halted the pain. The healing was enough that little more than a small scab was left. The spell enough to heal the wound sufficiently it would be completely healed in a matter of days at most. "There we are, now Lammy if you would like to be healed as well I can attend to you." She turned to the Druid.
Character Sheet: Name: Eranah Gender: Female Age: While appearing to be about 24, she has lived innumerable lifetimes and has simply ceased counting the years she has actually existed. Race: Deva Class: Cleric Abilities: The area where she most excels is healing and aiding others. The gifts granted to her by The One Who Endures encompass both his boundless compassion and fiery wrath. With magic to heal and buff others while also having spells at her disposal which would tear enemies asunder or make them more open to the attacks of others for the pain and suffering they have brought to this world. She is also incredibly intelligent and wise, excelling at understanding even the most difficult concepts of scholasticism due in large part to her effective immortality. In order to better connect with her god she has also learned the arts of diplomacy and empathy with all living things. Learning how to use a kind word and open arms to heal the wounds which rest below the surface. Alignment: Lawful Good (In this case the law being followed is not that of the world but instead of The Lord on the Rack Ilmater) Appearance: Standing tall at 6'3" and thin at 165 lbs she is by no means outside the norm of her species. White lines for intricate symbols across the entirety of her body, her sking blue with eyes of pure white. Despite these features many humans would consider her very beautiful as would be expected of a Deva. Her hair kept at a medium length it's color pure white to match the symbols covering her body. Personality: She is kind and generous to a fault. Keeping only those positions required to aid her in her mission. Her duty and honor is to live up to the ideals of The Crying God. To aid those who are in need and punish those who bring great suffering upon others. It is this which defines her and works for the time she has been "alive". Every action and word carefully chosen to further the alleviation of suffering from those who bring it upon others. She also shares many traits that exist among the Deva, enjoying the creation of art and following the angelic motiffs of said art. Inventory: Aside from the standard Adventuring kit she keeps only chainmail armor for her own defense and the symbol of Ilmater (the white hands bound with a blood red cord). Knowing the power of Ilmater can carry her through even the worst of troubles. She also keeps some supplies for drawing including paper and writing/drawing implements. All of her clothes are fine clothing, looking much nicer than the standard clothes expected of an adventurer. She wishes to be presentable at all times and takes great care to maintain cleanliness. History: She has spent most of her time on this plane as a wandering healer and priest. Doing all she can to aid the sick, dying, poor, and oppressed. Her works are numerous but often small, healing a farmer, providing gold to the poor, sharing food with the hungry, and on occasion freeing slaves from their cruel masters. She also has been known to provide counseling to humans and aid to wounded animals. The only people she will attack are those who would harm others, and even then she knows to stay her hand from needless slaughter. It is often hard for her to focus on the world around her in cities as the amount of suffering can become unbearable, driving her to need others around her to keep her from simply moving from person to person in order to render aid. She can give the appearance of being unfocused and cryptic in some of the things she says, all she aims to do though is help.
Eranah noticed the damage that Lammy had sustained, but as the druid turned into a bird and flew away almost immediately there was nothing she could really do at the moment until the druid was closer. Instead she decided to focus her efforts on getting rid of some of the archers which plagued the group. Hoping at least one might be killed or moved. The fire that the lava missile had created on one of the hobgoblins spread to more of his body so she focused on another of the archers. She came out from cover just long enough to acquire a target and cast a bolt from her hands. This bolt was made of pure sunlight, casting shadows in directions opposite of itself as the spell found its mark. Eranah hoped the combination of spells might at least lessen the morale of the assaulting force if not cause them to flee. If nothing else the sudden beam of bright light might just prove a distraction to their enemies.
