Datura quietly followed after the impromptu heroes, lagging slightly behind, as she dragged her feet with less enthusiasm than her fellow companions. Where the heck they get all that energy will forever be shrouded in mystery. Even her energy drinks could contain only so much sugar. Staring down at the hill, she sighed and slide down the hill. [Rolled 11] On a particular rock, she felt something shifted beneath her and - before she should even scream - a large chunk of rock broke loose beneath her and began tearing down the hill, dragging the quack doctor along for the ride like some kind of surfer on a boogie board. Datura clung to the giant moving rock for dear life, the wind and locks of her hair smacking her in the face, until the boulder slowly came to a standstill. Shakily, she stumbled off the killer joyride, her hair a completely mess as she sat on the ground in complete daze. She was far ahead of the others thanks to that ride, just waiting at just a few feet inside the forest since that sharp incline lead straight into the trees.
"Portal Boy, Chel, Chad - Call me whatever you want. Might be fun to see every villain search for every Chad and Chel in this city." Felyse grinned at Penelope, balancing the bags of chips on one leg. "Names shouldn't be too hard. Just add Captain or some other nifty title in front of a noun and - voila! - you got something! Captain Elastic sounds fitting, no? Or iDoctor for Ems?" Lazily, he reached for the extra XBox controller next to Emilia. "Psssst, iDoctor, let me join in." "Ooooh, how about Lady Chimera, Vee? It's a dark and sexy name... or is it so sexy that it sounds villainous?" He tilted his hat way from his face and scratched his chin in thought. "Wait, won't your suit tear apart if you shift into something a big as a wildebeest?" He asked and turned to Vee, raising an eyebrow almost teasingly. "You might as well be better off wearing a bikini. Might even scare a few scofflaws."
“Oooh, making costumes already? Do mine, too!” Felyse spoke up from his spot on the couch – the one that was in front of the giant computer screen where he watched the other’s playing Halo – and looked up from his bag of ranch Doritos he was once so focused on. Tossing the chips to the side, he crawled his way to the back of the couch, resting his head against the palm of his hands, as he watched Penelope work her magic around the sewing machine. “I want a black hoodie with lime green patterns. Same thing with my mask; although, something that covers my whole head and faceless.” Unconsciously, Felyse combed the strands of hair beneath his chosen hat-of-the-day with a hand. White with red tips – his hair stood out more than what his envisioned hero outfit ever would be. Like a watermelon snow cone amidst the tundra. There was always the option of dyeing, buuuuut that would be an attack on his individuality… also, his lazy side was opting out. As an extra precaution – and a security blanket – he got a brand new hat all picked out for mission impossible; although, truthfully, the headgear was more for aesthetic effect than anything else. Out of the corner of his eyes, he watched his teammates going about. He grabbed the bag of chips and munched away. Research he could do, but planning away was a no-go; so he left that task to his more methodical comrades. “By the way, anyone got any heroic names all planned out?”
“Oh, the forest sounds nice.” Datura tilted her head in thought, looking slightly dazed. “It’s about time I should start picking more-- Wait…” She blinked several times; her eyes widened in shock. What the hell did she just agreed to? What was this madness? A squire. A squire?! She would not degrade herself to some squire. She was a doctor for Pete’s sake! “Wait, what? But I… I would never—I can’t go! I have stuff to do, so many things! I got a business to run! I’m no hero!” She flailed about, looking for any excuse. That whole courthouse/monster ordeal was a one-time deal. Besides, all she did was blind a bat and save a bunch of brats. She didn’t even save the brats per se; it was the rain that did most of the work! “You!” She pointed accusingly at the knight. “What spell had you cast to make me agree to go on this… this madness? My precious garden won’t last long in my absence!” Datura quickly pointed to her home where her valued garden – the one she spent many months growing... [Rolled 4] Unfortunately, the spot she pointed at was just a pile of ashes and chard bricks. The front yard – where her garden was supposed to be – was nothing more than wilted weeds sitting in mud due to rampaging monsters and herds of panicked villagers stomping all over it in panic. WELL CRAP. Quickly turning on her heels, Datura clenched her fists and made her way over to the forest.
Yep, I'm still interested, but I might not be able to post much with exams coming up this Friday.
"There, there. There's no need to shout. Just follow me," Datura cooed softly; she made a poor attempt of a smile as her gaze were led astray by the blaze behind her. There was fire everywhere; so much that she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw a pair of children in a non-fiery pit of a corner. Nevertheless, she grabbed the youngsters, searching for a way out. [Roll 11] Suddenly, something hit her nose with a small DRIP. "What the--?" Datura wrinkled her nose and stared at the ceiling in disbelief. Above, small drops of water came leaking from the gaps in the roof, replacing the flames that had completely engulfed it. From the shattered windows, she could see sprinkle of rain that quickly turned into a downpour. Most of the fire that blocked her escape was soon extinguished into ember, leaving only debris and bits of burnt wooden planks. With a quiet huff, she led the children out through the front door. With water dripping all by now,she stared at the two strangers-turned-heroes, looking disgruntled. "Are all those monstrosities gone? Cause I wouldn't like to see these children turn into meals."
"Rushing into near-collapsing buildings isn't exactly safe either!" Datura shouted back at the gunman, quickly backing away from the blinded bat monster. However, with one quick look at the one-armed Cyclops and the two winged monsters chowing on some folks, she huffed and started toward the burning courthouse - the semi-safer option. "If I die, I'm haunting your arse!" She took a deep breath and rushed through the burning doors. [Roll 6] Her clothes were lightly scorched. She had nearly set herself on fire with all those flames clinging to the doorway. "Ah crud," she stomped on the blaze that found its way to the tail end of her outfit, effectively putting it out. Nevertheless, she made it in one unburnt piece. "Hey, any people cooking in here?! Where the heck are you?" She called out, taking hurried glances into the fire.
I've been fine, just had to take the time to study for exams coming up soon. I might not be able to post a whole lot until all those tests past. So far, I'm enjoying this RP. I still need to get a handle of Felyse, but other than that I'm pretty excited about the upcoming mission.
It was just days like these that she regretted ever setting foot in this kingdom. Datura couldn't help but sigh as soon as she took a step out of the flaming courthouse and into the monster-infected chaos. There were monsters rampaging all over with people running amok. With ashes dusting her clothes, she wanted nothing more than to go back to her hut and wash the soot away. Maybe if she slowly walked away...? Nope, that just wasn't possible - not with a giant bat monster coming her way. Gaping at the sight, she frantically grabbed one of her glass jars containing green liquefied "medicine" - the word "medicine" used very lightly since she has no idea what it does despite concocting it herself. Nevertheless, she threw it at the beast. [Rolled 7] CRACK! The jar shattered upon impact and splattered all over the monster's eyes, blinding it temporarily.
Felyse ignored the ruckus before him and hopped off the couch’s arm, making his way to his assigned group. In doings so, he smoothly jumped over Nick’s prone form, leaning over Penelope’s and Heather’s shoulders to get a good look at the tablet. He let out a low whistle as soon as his gaze landed on the list of crimes this Wenton fella had committed. "Vandalism, arson, murder, assaults…” Felyse raised an eyebrow. “Woah, this guy got too much time on his hands. I could've finished my degree with that much time." He grinned and gave Ferghus a jolly slap on the shoulders. “Look at you, Ferg! You’ll go far in this business,” he grinned cheerfully, ignorant of the unease that some of the amateur heroes and misfits felt about the pact. He nodded toward the group before turning to face the Irish man, elbowing him playfully at his rib.“I don’t know about going up where the sun doesn't shine, but I’m willing to join the bandwagon. There's nothing more satisfying than eating skittles, being awesome, and letting this scofflaw sit behind bars.” Hearing Heather’s teasing, he raised an eyebrow and grin. “Oh? Then how do you feel about masks and codenames? I don’t know about the mask part, but I got plenty of hats to go around. ”
