Crimson Academy

In an alternate dimension where the world has made giant technological breakthroughs, but also unleashed the powers of Magic, the City of Detroit stands as one of the greatest cities. Inside the city is a portal to a special school, known as the Crimson Academy. Although the school is isolated, and in the middle of the ocean, people are able to travel between the city and the school with ease. The students there never graduate, really. They stay there to learn their powers, and the refine them for use to protect the world

In another world, known only as the Void, there are creatures that can consume nearly anything. Alone, they are almost harmless. In mass, they have been known to consume entire planets. The creatures of the Void are making their way to Earth, and it is up to the students at Crimson Academy to stop them. Of course, when there isn't and invasion, there's always time for every-day life.

You will have the option of playing a student or a teacher. Please note that new students are welcome any time, but students who have been at the school before the Role Play starts and the Teachers can only join before May 1st. The IC will start then. If you are a student who has been at the school, or a teacher, please discuss possible friendships, clubs, etc. with other members before the Role Play starts.

EDIT: Starting June 1st, assuming the R last that long, we will allow new members to sign up as teachers, either new or returning from vacation, as well as old students, also returning from vacation. If, for any reason, you will not be able to post often, please leave both an IC and OOC notice, and have your character leave the school before you go.

Powers: Spiritual Connection: Amani has the ability to talk to and control spirits, animals are much easier seeing as they help without bargain. She can transform into animals or just have them as support, they can even guide her. Mostly her own spirit animal: The Wolf. While she can connect with human souls and like the animals form into them, it usually takes bargaining and she can even risk her soul being overthrown so she usually asks them for guidance or a friendly teaching. Mostly Shakespeare.

Personality: Amani is a social butterfly, to be clear she is just someone that loves to be around others dead or living. Though she is curious herself she doesn't allow others to question her or her past. Other then that she is fun and caring in her own strange way.
Background: Amani was born with her powers, saying as soon as she could talk that she could see a baby wolf and other beings around their house. Her mother and father were scared by her strange 'fantasies' and made sure she wasn't talking about them at all during her schooling and or every day life.At the age of twelve, when magic was declared 'free' she talked things over with her parents and they decided to send her to Crimson Academy. That is where she started to feel free, she went to drama and preformed plays, dancing, and even singing were things that she didn't -couldn't- do before that she could do there. The year after she joined she was able to communicate with her spirit animal and for the price of writing his new poetry, Shakespeare. It was all so exciting for her, and so she decided to stay there for as long as she could. Now she is one of the older students with a trained body and mind, and she is going to fight.

Personality: Violet is the type of girl that doesn't fit in. She's quiet. But she will put you in your place.
Background: Violet never had a family, so she's raised herself.

Lightless – Maryn Iver

Name: Maryn Iver

Appearance:


Powers: Manipulation of Perception - Maryn can make people unable to percieve a certain object in any way except physical contact.
So far, she's been trying to train it in a way to allow her to effect certain people or vary the amount of perception she can distort, but she's had little success so far. Maryn herself doesn't know the full extent of her ability.
Role: Old Student
Personality: Maryn, being one of the older students, takes things at a slower pace. She's somewhat lethargic and tends to doze off frequently; she tends to suddenly disappear when startled in her sleep, which happens rather easily. Though, when she isn't sleeping, Maryn's rather friendly and generally trustworthy, even if she never gets anything done. Because of her power, she's not seen very often.
Background: As a child, Maryn lived a relatively easygoing and sheltered childhood. Raised by a loving middle-class family, most people she knew thought she was a normal little girl. She never really realized she had her power to conceal until she was 12, when she accidentally concealed her father to everyone but herself for a few hours. Her family realized this soon enough, since it did explain all of the random disappearances, but didn't transfer her to Crimson Academy until a few years later because they simply didn't accept how sudden it was.

BlithCrescent - Alicia

Name: Alicia

Appearance:

Powers: Force Manipulation. Alicia has the ability to control kinetic and gravitational forces, allowing her to accelerate, stop, levitate, and ground almost any object.
Role: Old Student
Personality: Although Alicia keeps to herself, if approached, she can be very friendly.
Background: Alicia is an orphan, and one of the first students at Crimson Academy. she doesn't talk much about her past.

ShadowVentus - Inigo

Name: Inigo
Age: 18
Appearance:

Powers:
Sol- When applied to his sword, this ability allows him to drain a small amount of energy from his opponent, healing his wounds.
Luna- When activated, this ability makes his strikes hit twice as hard, practically shattering the enemy's defenses not only physically, but magically as well.
Ignis - This power emits a fiery aura on the user as it boosts Inigo's strength, allowing him to deal heavy damage.
Role: New Student
Personality: Inigo is quite the ladiesman, always trying to impress girls through what he does. He always seems to have a smile on his face wherever he goes and will protect his comrades at even the cost of his own life, making very loyal
Background: Coming from a future where the creatures from the Void were wreaking havoc on Earth, Inigo narrowly escaped with his sister, Morgan, through a portal, returning them to the past. Unfortunately, Inigo and Morgan were separated during the retreat, the portal putting them in different places. His parents had died in the future, so he has no family to support at the moment. To make ends meet, he's become a bit of a mercenary, taking jobs when he can, but, he decided to attend the Crimson Academy with he obtained through all of jobs to hone his skills.

Energy and Water Manipulation

Energy manipulation: Hector can control how much energy an object contains. This is not kinetic but just energy, lame man's terms: Heat manipulation. He can conger up a ball of energy hotter than fire but it is not manifest as a flame, but in stead a glowing orb. He can also do the opposite and take energy making something or someone cold or freeze.
Water manipulation:Just that, the ability to manipulate any water content.

Personality:
Hector is fun and laid back with people, and is more upbeat when he teaches. All though he is a fun person to be around you do not want to get on his bad side.

Powers: Manipulation of Hatred and Despair. Seraph can use his own and others' hatred to attack his enemy. He can create energy spheres or whatever he want using the hatred of people. They are represented by scarlet energy that can be felt and seen only by him and by whoever he gives power to see the hatred.

Personality: A reclusive, shy boy with good intentions. Due to the knowledge of his powers, Seraph is really frightened of creating relationships with people, but he tries.
Background: When a child, Seraph's parents noticed the strange mark that was forming into his face. Nevertheless, life kept moving on, until they noticed something. Their son kept talking about red lines in thin air, which he said that he could see that on them too. They decided to see what he was capable of doing and soon realized that this energy was their own hatred born from their problems. Seraph began to be something other than a beloved son: he became an dangerous person. On his 12 years, however, the tragedy of his life happened. In a night, Seraph started to scream. His parents woke up and got to aid his son, which was losing control of his powers. He opened his eyes, that became deep red. Losing control of his powers, a boundary, connected to the Void, opened and started to suck everything on his room... including his parents. When Seraph woke up, the house was full of people. He thought everything was a dream, but it was real. When he noticed, his powers brought his family to ruin, leading him to live with his aunt and uncle. When he completed 16, his aunt sent him to Crimson Academy, so he could control his powers more effectively.

Personality: Scarlet is really silent and to her self. When you get to know her, she really an nice person to be around with. At times shes scared to express her true feeling and hides by acting tough. Shes also doesn't take crap from other
Background: Scarlet live in coldest part of Alaska With her parents. She really didn't fit in the school she went to and had her eyes site on the Academy when she was younger,both her and her child hood friend. However, a year before she joined the school, he best friend had got very sick and couldn't make it. He went to hospital and she had to go on without him. Scarlet still doesn't know if hes alive or not

Background: Kei is an orphan from Hawaii. He was revered by the people of the coastal village he lived in but never knew why until he was 15 after he was caught in a rip tide swimming in the ocean. He felt like he was drowning but when he couldn't hold his breath anymore he found out he could breath. Once he arrived back to his village the village chief told him that he was son of a woman who mated with a water spirit, he came to the academy for answers of what he was capable of.
