Appearance
Elijah is a 10 foot long merman, with the human half only taking 4 feet of that length. His long hair is mess of brown and his eyes are as blue as the sky. His skin if very fair, especially on his face. His tail is long and as thin as his body, but gets thinner at the end of it. His scales are a dark blue color, and darker blue on the fins at the end of his tail. And something else to note, his ears are pointed and 4 inches long. And while you can't see it most of the time due to his rat's nest of hair, he has a small golden piercing on his left ear as a symbol of strength.
Personality
Elijah is that happy-go-lucky guy who is always great to have around. There is not a day where he does not have a smile on his face, he smiles so much it seems painted onto his face. Even in dark time he keeps himself as optimistic as he can. While he is happy most of the time he is shy around people other than mermen. He does not like being left alone and will let you know if he wants attention. Behind his shell of happiness is a very emotional merman who just wants to be loved by other people, even if he never shows his longing to love. He also has a short temper and a natural hatred for sharks.
Background
Starting at the day he was born, Elijah has always wanted to go out and explore, but he was held back by his mother and the leader of the group of mermen she lived in. Still, in his early adventures he managed to sneak away from the group and play in the coral reefs without a care, but this later came with a price. One day, when he was 14 years old a shark sneaked up and attacked him. Luckily, the frightened little merman avoided getting bitten into, but as he fled back to the group he did not avoid the shark following him. The shark went on a rampage, and destroyed their living spaces. Luckily, no one was hurt, but everything laid in ruins. The leader was very upset with Elijah, as he did the very thing that he preached to the little merman not do to. And so, he was forbidden to leave his home until he reached adulthood. He was locked home, and for a year he was left there, lonely and bored. But this would not be his last day outside as a child. From his house, he challenged the leader's authority, quite strongly in fact. The leader was very upset by this, and so he was challenged to the one thing he thought he was best at, a duel. Everyone watched, and even though it was close Elijah won by knocking out his opponent with a heavy tail slap. He had won and gained the right to take control. As a symbol of strength, he had one of his ears pierced near the tip with pure gold. But he felt bad for the former leader, and so he gave him leadership instead, what he wanted to do instead was go out and explore the world. And so, with permission from his mother, Elijah went off to explore the world. And one day he met a friend (Blue) while hunting fish, and the two became best buddies ever sense that day. But then, he went swimming during a heavy storm...
