I found Termite's alt

2007. Late 2007. All you children here and your petty contests of seniority amuse me.

What kind of a pleb almost sets his house on fire trying to boil water.

The kind that didn't realize his newly bought pots were laced in a chemical that made them 'extra shiny' and 'extra flammable', who also didn't realize that the burner hadn't been cleaned in so long that it started spouting smoke the moment it came into contact with heat.

Forget the trash compactor, Smiral.

Thank you brovo.

I saw insanity. I brought back sanity. Because, really, the main marker of success for an independent Scotland is threefold.

#1: Can they politically rule themselves? (Yes, obviously. They have their own parliament already. They're capable.)
#2: Can they economically survive? (Yes, obviously. Business has one rule of law above all others: Profit motive. There's no profit to be had in leaving an independent Scotland just because some people in England are whining about it. In fact, that's pretty legitimately insane.)
#3: Will the world respect their rights to independence? (Yes, obviously. Scotland already has its own distinct culture that everybody recognizes. If they vote themselves free, the world will recognize it and happily trade with this peace loving nation of haggis eating kilt wearers.)

Also this gif is quickly becoming one of my favourites. That is all.

Lets get some rational shit in here.

A. Scotland goes independent, they're still friends with the UK, they're still going to openly trade, and it would be sane business to simply have their own version of NAFTA with England. They're still part of the Commonwealth. The only thing that's sincerely different is that they choose to manage their own affairs with their own government.

B. Scotland does not go independent. Status Quo maintained.

As others have said, this is not a violent coup in some third world piece of shit that happens to contain oil: It's a first world country, with first world infrastructure, a first world educated populace, that is generally peace loving and would have every possible incentive in the universe to trade with literally everyone they're already trading with. To the outside world there'd be little to no difference. Goods shipped from Scotland would have a Scotland logo on them instead of an England one. Woo... That's... Different? I guess?

This is mainly an "oh my god" for the United Kingdom. Because they wouldn't really be united anymore.

Also, for those pointing at Québec and what horrendous economic collapses would go on if they went independent, as a Canadian, I'm just gonna say: Completely different situations. Québec is surrounded by Canada and their local provincial policies would not allow them to economically survive whatsoever. They also tend to half-ass the independence movement. (Like they want to be independent, but they still want to use Canadian currency, all the while dumping all of their debt on us... ?????) Scotland, on the other hand, has natural resources beyond oil, and from what I'm aware of, they don't have insane social policies that they could not possible in a thousand years afford without the UK.

Really it doesn't seem like Scotland going free would be a bad thing. I mean it's a peaceful referendum and if things go to shit they can always just rejoin the UK. It's not like the UK will say no to regaining control over Scotland...

Wait... Brovo makes mistakes!?

All the time. I'm just smart enough to know how to make it look intentional.

But once in a while I just do something so darwinistic that there is no excuse. Like not reading the safety label on what is essentially a bottle of pure acid.
GourmetItalia said I mean ... not that Chris' death was entirely his fault; Brovo ultimately froze up Jorick's character and afterwards, Melonhead's character just ate it.

No, it was completely his fault. Jorick's character locking him up saved him and I did that to stop Jorick from getting off'd in a tactical plan that lacked any kind of coherent thinking.

Modern Military Tactics Never Ever Put Infantry Blindly Forward. Ever. Ever. Sending infantry blindly forward, especially in small numbers, is tantamount to tactical suicide. Especially against enemies who have unknown capabilities but who were powerful enough to take on a mechanized battalion and utterly annihilate it with seemingly few casualties on their part.

You send drones to scout ahead. You send tanks to push the front line. You use helicopters for the aerial view. You use radar, SATCON, intel, scouting squad armed with multi-vision scopes--anything but going blindly ahead. With just a shotgun.

The mistake was made abundantly clear when he fired his shotgun at close range and it didn't kill his target. What was Jorick's rifle going to do, irritate it? Locking up and then having the passive benefit of TITK was the only reason he survived that massive tactical ineptitude. What he should have done was listen to Kadaeux and stay behind the heavily armoured mech with intense duel wield flamethrowers and provide covering fire to ensure nothing could, say, jump on his mech's knee and start tearing through the armour to the cockpit like some shadow wolves ended up doing to Zed's mech before he could even get to the battle. Instead, Melonhead took his arena training to good use--run ahead blindly and get slaughtered by the unknown enemy, and all he did was nearly take his ally out with him.

So, not to bash Melonhead or anything, but the guy has no concept of modern battlefield tactics, or spatial awareness, or basic survival traits. These things culminated to ultimately get Chris murdered.

It also didn't help that he kept doing several actions every post, which split his total alloted time up. So instead of getting to line up a shot carefully, in the same time he could have done that, he threw a grenade, dashed around a corner, and attempted to scout through the fog for the enemy, all within that time frame. (Again, though, lacking spatial awareness is the reason this happened. It's like giving an entire speech in the middle of a fight. It dumbfoundedly breaks spatial awareness and I use that to kill people off.)

Tempest said HALO – Heat and Alternate Light Optics – multi-function goggles with variable channels: Heat-source, low-light/nightvision, or protective film versus flash-bangs and welding torches.

Will be added to R&D later.

Tempest said Micro-torch – Portable torch that can be held in the palm of one's hand with a small tank that can be carried in one's backpack. Meant for quick patch jobs or for cutting through thinner metals.

Maybe. Let me think on it.

Tempest said Insulated Gloves – A simple pair of gloves with grips on them insulated to keep her from accidentally short-circuiting any of her equipment or setting anything off.

? How will insulated gloves... ? I mean they might protect you but how will they stop things from going off?

Tempest said Remote Control Car – Simple remote control vehicle amped up with an extended range, better terrain capabilities and superior speed

No. Either it's not useful or it's trying to nab the robot buddy passive from Pilots. Either way... At least not right now.

Tempest said Toy Grab Bag – Various toys and knick-knacks Georgia carries about with her

Approved, sure. lol

Tempest said Electronic Scraps – Various Electronic scraps that Georgia can rig in a pinch to facilitate whatever needs she might have

Maybe. Yes, tentatively.

Tempest said Wrist-Mounted UI – Bit of like a personal computer. Able to connect to and download information from other computers, tracks ally locations, communicates with Tenzin and allows her to view local maps.

Tenzin?

Tempest said Special Request –Freddie – Floating robotic scouting eye companion to be upgraded over time. At the moment, a salvaged bit of scrap that has been rebuilt to and programmed back to be able to do basic scouting parameters, able to identify and register friendlies based upon those programmed in at the start of a mission and added in with a command... With a command, will begin a scouting patrol and begin to mark those that it encounters which will be uploaded to Georgia's UI so that she can reference them. Also comes built-in with a handy dandy panic alarm and flashlight!

At least, not right now. Maybe with the next wave of missions. Unless you took this as a unique of some sort.
@Imperium:

Also protip: When an NPC tells you to go first, he really means it. Florence is a leader but not a front liner. He can't do tactical overviews for his soldiers and give you bonuses as a result if he has to fend for his own life.

Also, you're not on the map yet because I'm letting you position yourselves wherever you please.

@Liveria:

@Free Holds: Yeah not sure about the whole questioning if Mikan can pull off a disguise as a spymaster bit. Hmm...

Also Hellis didn't post this round... I see a familiar pattern brewing...

@Everyone: We're going back to weekly posts. SO GET TO IT.
