It's technically Christmas now (1 AM again)! Merry Christmas!

Seeing as Christmas Eve is tomorrow today (oh it's 1 am) I'm sure everyone is busy with IRL stuff.
I've honestly started expecting the Guild to be down whenever I try to visit. It seems like it's down more often then it's up.

12/25 Edit: Merry Christmas!
The spectacle now occurring on board the boat was enough to rouse Emma from her eternal state of lethargy. This reminds me a little bit too much of a rich kid house party then it should. Emma thought to herself, remembering her home. Maybe things really aren't so different on this island. Certainly it was clear that the presence of drunken perverts was seemingly ubiquitous. The man, who was evidently their counselors brother, greatly surprised Emma when he attempted to pass the mystery alcohol to the students. He really does have no sense of tact... trying to give us something like that in front of his brother, our counselor. She eyed the drink, but she knew better then to make an attempt for it. That would assuredly get her on the Che's bad side, and she didn't have the courage to try something so brazenly.

Regardless of the drink Che's brother certainly seemed to quite the character. He was very open about his sexual habits to say the least. Emma recognized the type, and was quick to dismiss him from her thoughts. She didn't want to associate with someone like James Santiago, plain and simple. But what he said did catch her attention: A whole lifetime of Libre in a year. It was clear to Emma what he meant, but she wanted something very different out of Puerto Libre then James Santigo did. She wasn't interested in booze and partying, and really never has been. She wanted to lay in the sun, free from parental dogma, she wanted to experience the island. But more then that, here thoughts kept returning to the disappearances. Something Che said piqued her interest: No one knows where the fog comes from. This island wasn't normal.

People don't just disappear, fog isn't some mysterious phenomenon, or at least it shouldn't be. Puerto Libre isn't a regular place, and I will get a lifetime of Puerto Libre, but not in the way James Santigo thinks.

Emma returned to slumber.

A memory arose from the deep recesses of Hazel Hosner's mind. It was the last time she had seen her grandparents, the Christmas of 2044. It looked now that it might very well be her last time she had seen her grandparents. The lived in Sacramento, California; warm summers, cold, rainy winters. The past few years were taken with drought, but this Christmas the rain came in torrential downpours. It seemed to Hazel that the Heavens merely saved the rain from the last few years, and chose now to pout it down upon them all at once. More specifically she remembered something her grandmother had said: "Hazel, you're a beautiful girl, you're smart, and you're charming, but I'll never understand the obsession with video games. I swear, they'll be the death of you." Back then Hazel merely gave her grandma an exasperated sigh. She'd heard it before, and she didn't care.

Now she could only think that they might have been right.

Mantam's awakening was gradual. She had faded in and out, hearing bits of conversation. "I don't want any of this..." she muttered, likely going unheard. This time she rose from the couch she now found herself lying upon, and spoke aloud. "We have to be careful... I'm sure you've accidentally wiped before from accidentally aggroing one too many mobs in an MMO. If that happens here, that's it. We can't let it happen." Her head still swam. She was in shock. The words came out slow, but they came out.

Mantam was embarrassed that she passed out, but she pushed it out of mind. She had to call her parents, and quick. They sometimes had a habit of unplugging her suddenly, and if that happened now it would be very bad. She voiced her concerns to the group, "If you live with anyone, contact them right away. I'm sure they'll notice our absence eventually, and getting unplugged now would not be good." This times the words came out quicker, more sure. "I need to make a phone call." She said, making her exit from the Cave so she could have some privacy. She opened the in-game phone application and began dialing. She knew this wasn't going to be an easy conversation.
When one spends enough time practicing sleeping in class, they might get very proficient at actually seeming aware. Unfortunately for Emma, she had no such luck. As the counselor talked she was very brazenly nodding off. She made some effort to stay awake, but it was clear that she was barely struggling against the tide of rest. Her head bobbed down, and her eyes closed momentarily, and then she found herself snapped back into awareness. This visibly happened several times as Che was talking. Che. She at least made an effort to remember the name, feeling that she would soon get familiar with the school faculty. It's nice to at least know their names if you get sent to the office, which was a common occurrence for Emma, naturally. Teachers rarely appreciate her habitual naps as much as she does, and are quick to fluster when they find that she does surprisingly somehow know the class material.

The flight. The question barely registered in her head. Naturally, she was asleep on the flight, so she hardly knew how the flight was. Even if they blew an engine, her sleep was likely to get uninterrupted. If anyone, including her future classmates, attempted conversation she only held it to the point of politeness before returning to sleep. Emma found, that despite her apparent apathy, some odd part of her looked forward to the year. Mystery. A nice change of pace. A nice change of scenery, she thought to herself. Emma mused to herself briefly that the now friendly counselor would likely soon be pushing for her expulsion. Or maybe he would be a rarity and attempt to work with her. Either way, the result would likely be the same: Sleep.

Emma made no attempt to answer his question.
Name: Emma Fields
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Appearance: Emma is a youthful girl with soft white skin. She has long straight blonde hair that reaches down to the small of her back. She has a small frame, and stands at a rather average height of 5'3. Emma has a heart-shaped face adorned with deep blue eyes. She is graceful, but appears to be rather delicate despite the fact she is actually fairly athletic.
Personality: It may be hard from some to pinpoint exactly how Emma Fields found admission into a prestigious institution like Catalina Academy. Doubtlessly rumors swirl that her family had purchased her way in, or that the dean owed her family a favor, or any number of unsavory reasons. Emma certainly doesn't seem to be the type to be found in Catalina Academy, but that's not to say she's dumb. In reality Emma Fields is merely incredibly lazy, often preferring to nap in class then pay attention, and rarely doing her work. Despite this Emma is deceptively smart- probably more so then most students at Catalina Academy, possessing one of the most impressive essays submitted to Catalina in her application.

Emma, however, hardly cares about any rumors about her, tending towards the carefree side. Besides her characteristic laziness Emma is actually quite the friendly individual, and when not found napping is a charming young women. If it wasn't for the fact that she didn't really care, she would probably be popular and near the top of her class rank GPA-wise. Instead, she prefers to keep to her small group of friends, and simply enjoy life.
Your History: Emma was born into a position of affluence, the only child of a pair of successful industrial magnates. It was agreed by both of her parents that their child was a supreme disappointment, but they were unable to conceive again. Early in their daughter's life her parents thought they were blessed with an incredibly intelligent child, but it was not until she began school that they found out Emma was struck by a case of chronic apathy. Emma saw little point in school, and quickly found herself with failing grades. After being expelled from her first school she found herself bouncing around several affluent academies, finding little success in any of them.

The first time Emma actually felt motivated to do something with school was when she heard about Catalina Academy. The idea of getting away from her parents intrigued her. Additionally, she remembered something she heard in passing on the news: Disappearances on Puerto Libre with mysterious circumstances. The promise of mystery also intrigued her. Emma applied independently, and when she was accepted, her parents were so impressed she actually took initiative on her schoolwork that they didn't question the transfer.

Catalina Academy made a mistake accepting Emma Fields.
Why are you here?: Emma Fields applied to Catalina Academy hoping to escape the educational dogma of her parents. In addition to this, she found herself very interested in the mysterious disappearances taking place in Puerto Libre. In her application Emma naturally skirted around her academic history, instead opting to write an incredibly impressive essay that earned her quick acceptance.
Faith: Emma was originally raised to believe in God, but found herself questioning these beliefs. Today she instead finds herself holding to no God.
Fear(s): Doing excess amounts of work.
Astrological Sign: Leo
