Heyo everyone!

Los Paraisos: Pallegio Casino - Roulette table
“Selan we did iiiiiiiiiiit!!!! We’re rich! We’re rich!!”

Moira's gaze slowly lifted from the table. Other than the occassional twitch of one eyebrow and the hellish fire of anger in her eyes, her expression looked pretty much neutral. She watched as Don paraded about, dancing and spinning and without a care in the world. Just look at all the money he had! For all of them to be successful, all of them except her...

Then Don began to sing. Moira looked back to the table without a word, her breathing slowing a little. Her gaze unfocused.

"Moira?"
"Hmm?"
"Will we ever be rich?"

Moira gripped the edge of the table. No, of course she wouldn't be. It wasn't something which used to really bother her too much - she was much too busy with raising her son. But now? She'll never be one of those Guilders which others will tell stories about. She'll never have the money to stay in this sort of place. So many of the people she once knew were now at the prime of their careers, rolling in money and lording it up. But her?

She'll never amount for anything.

Her gaze focused again, staring at the table surface. It's funny how detailed things are when you're really focused on them. The particular shade of green, the texture of the surface.

"We are the champions.
We are the champions.
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the world..."

She snapped.

Her face quite suddenly contorted into that of pure, concentrated rage. With a sharp intake of breath she violently threw the table spinning straight up into the air. Fuck. This. SHIT!

The casino was suddenly filled with screams as people fled the now decending table, which fell with a loud crash on the floor. Chips and coins were flung in every direction, raining down upon those surrounding them like hail. The roulette machine came loose from the table and rolled off in a random direction.

FUCK THIS SHIT FUCK THIS SHIT FUCK THIS SHIT!!!!! Lost in her rage she span on the spot, her fist brought back to punch that happy, clueless grin right off his fuckin' face-!

A large, boney hand suddenly pushed forcefully against the top of her back. Normally that wouldn't even faze her, but an electromage literally leaping at her and directly applying a large amount of volts into her spine certainly did. She screamed, an inhuman sound which lasted for the couple of seconds before she fell forwards to the floor, too stunned to really do anything else.

"Can't we just have one day," Syed hissed, kneeling down beside her to keep up the physical contact with her should he need to act again. Of course the pair of them were overdue getting kicked out and probably barred from yet somewhere else. However despite his words his thumb stroked against her wrist as he waited for the inevitable security to show. "Sorry, guys." He flushed. Of course now Xan was here too. What a great impression to make on someone they still barely knew. "Sorry," he added to the dealer, as little as his words were worth at this point.

Security were upon the scene within moments, taking hold of Moira by her arms and physically dragging her away. Syed could do nothing but sheepishly wave back to their friends as he followed.

Here we go again.

Los Paraisos: Pellagio Casino - Roulette Table
FUCK!

Moira seethed, her eyes fixated on her admittedly small pile of chips as it was taken away to be sorted into winnings. It was just two numbers higher, just two, and not far apart from one another on the wheel! And the same colour too! It was like a kick in the teeth. "Well what did I fuckin' think would happen!" she bellowed to nobody in particular, giving a glare so fierce it was like she was trying to burn a hole into the roulette machine. She then span to glowered at Syed. "Shoulda known you'd fuck it up!"

Syed rolled his eyes. Oh yes, because it was totally his fault. All he did was respond to her question! "Sure," he said simply, his voice dripping with sarcasm. She didn't pick up on it, and he didn't carry it on further.

He soon became aware of Dylan shuffling up next to him. Seemed the artist was trying to keep a bit of a low profile. “Erm, what’s going on here? I don’t really get this one.” He gave a sheepish grin. “Never really got into gambling.”

Syed sighed as he turned away from his partner, before giving Dylan a sympathetic smile in return. "It looks like guessing what number or colour the ball's going to land on to me," he said with a shrug. "Nothing like throwing your money away on a whim, huh?"

He couldn't help but resent how things were turning out. Moira always looked after their money, it wasn't just her money she could be gambling away if she got carried away. And much like Dylan, Syed didn't gamble either - or at least not the sort of values being exchanged here. Rather than excitement, he couldn't help but be filled with a sense of dread every time more chips were put on the table by any of the group. Even with Don seemingly on a big-win streak, he was just waiting for the moment where it would all go wrong. He hoped it wouldn't. He wished and pretty much prayed it wouldn't. But he couldn't help but be convinced it would.

Moira was rooting through her purse again. Damnit, she was going to get it this time. She had to. She had to! She grabbed some more gald, slamming it onto the table. If an exact bet wasn't going to work, it looked like she would have to broaden her scope. Her eyes drifted over to Don, Selan and Trixie. Her competative streak was surfacing again. So they were all winners, huh? Enjoying their winnings, huh?! WELL LET'S SEE HOW LONG THAT LASTS!

"I bet on an even," she said somewhat dangerously, her pale eyes still locked on the trio. Now that wasn't a look you'd want to see in a dark alleyway. Yes. Yes let's see how this turns out now!

"Moira, can I have my share of our money?" Syed asked her quietly. He had enough. He wasn't going to watch her throw it all away, especially when she was such a tight arse that half the time he had to ask to buy himself a damned cup of tea. It wasn't fair, and he wasn't going to have it anymore.

"Yeah, make your own bets, good idea," Moira said dismissively, grabbing a portion of their money without actually looking and shoving it roughly into his hands. She wasn't paying attention once again, her focus entirely on the game and her opponents. "Keep your damned shitty luck away from me."

Syed seemed a little shocked by the lack of fight back. Quickly shoving the money into his pockets, he backed off again and shrugged to Dylan. "Well... I'm not going to argue." After a brief moment, he spoke up again. "So you don't fancy giving anything a go? I wouldn't mind putting a couple of gald on maybe one of the slot machines, but, you know..." he gave a lop-sided smile, flicking his head towards his partner. As close as the slot machines were, they were only just out of his reach.
Hello! Just dropping in a OOC before work woop woop woop. Didn't finish work til midnight lol, so last night's post was pretty rushed. Ah well. Back to our normal schedule now until Tuesday.

Good luck on the scholarship Rex, I'm sure you'll have it sorted.

Good luck on the uni place, Kathi! I can't remember if anybody asked you already, what is it you're applying for? Wtf lmao @ pic.

Hopefully the thunder leaves you alone Tae! A couple of weeks back we had really bad weather in the UK, with really really severe winds and flooding. The wind was that bad that at one point I was sat in my car and I felt it pick it up a little, I was like D8 then told Pach to call off Marcus before I got blown away :P

Furry tractor gif is like. Perfection.

Los Paraisos: Pellagio Casino - Blackjack Table
Wh... what?! What just happened? Moira stared, wide eyed at the cards that laid before them all. H... how? That was probably... the luckiest thing she had ever seen. Well, bar all the times they narrowly escaped death anyway.

“C’mon bros, sis’s! The night’s still young!!”

"Don! Don't do that again!" Syed shouted sternly after him as they hurried to keep up. Who knew if Don was listening. "You're supposed to be saving up, remember! Always save yourself a budget for this sort of thing, don't bet everything!" All he could think was along the same lines as Dylan - thank the Gods that they decided to spare him from losing everything.

Well, Moira couldn't blame Don if he chose to ignore that lecture. She heaved a great sigh. Her beer was gone, she had downed it all after the stupid hold incident. She could do with some more, and a cigarette too. If they went into one of the smoking areas she could probably just try and have everybody's second-hand smoke, but with just her and Don as the smokers in the group she wasn't sure if they'd be going that way. Whatever.

"So... what are we gonna do next?" Syed asked with more than a little trepidation. His nerves were already wrecked. He didn't know how much more of this he could take. It wasn't even him gambling!

"I got an idea," Moira shouted, jogging a little to catch up with Don. "Best thing? You don't need to know any rules. Just put your money on what you want, sorted."

She steered him off in a seemingly random direction, the others trailing behind. Past rows and rows of slot machines, before she finally stopped them at a table. On top of the plush green table cover sat a magnificent gold, red and black machine, spinning around seamlessly as a ball rattled around inside. The ball finally came to a stop in one of the squares, the machine still spinning at a much slower pace.

"32 black!" the dealer announced.

"Trix!" Syed exclaimed, clapping his hands together with joy at the sight of the dimunitive trickster. Although... he wasn't sure she should be hanging around in a casino. She definately couldn't be old enough, unless the laws in Los Paraisos were different from Artar. "You're here too! Is everyone here then? Sorry I didn't get to come with to the waterpark."

“So how was the bars?” Dylan asked, leaning against one of the nearby slot machines.

"They were shit!" Moira exclaimed with a scowl, turning away from the waiter she had just ordered from and rooting around her purse. "They didn't even have any seats!"

"We had a pretty eventful time though," Syed grinned. "Played some volleyball, went to a parade. Got called demons and chased around with paddles. You know, nothing unusual," he winked. "What about you guys?"

"Here we are!" Moira exclaimed, slapping a little gald on the table to be exchanged for chips. "'Ere, Sy, what rib is it again?"

"What? 9th..."

"Ok, 9 red it is," she stretched her arms out before her and cracking her knuckles. "No way in hell am I missing out on roulette."

"...You're such a dick, Moira."
Good morning guys! Or afternoon, it's afternoon here now. Or evening! Or whatever lol I can go on forever.

Oh my god Kathi THOSE DRAWINGS *screams inconherently for like five minutes*

Also lmao watermelon keg

Idiot. He was an absolute idiot. Surely he must have got at least a rough grasp of the game by now? Moira crossed her arms, watching as the next cards were dealt out. At least he had it now, right?

Syed continued to watch quietly, keeping himself to himself. He thought he about had this game figured out until he'd noticed one of the other players on the table had split their hand. Geez, there were more rules than he had thought! Still, he was about there by now. Not that he'd want to give it a go himself - he didn't really want to embarrass himself too.

"HOLD!" Don yelled, looking very pleased with himself. Hold? HOLD?!

"WHAT THE SHIT?!" Moira screeched, grabbing hold of the edge of the table, her knuckles going white. It seemed to be taking her all she had to try not to flip the thing over - her hands were shaking, small cracks appearing around her tightly gripping fingers. The chips on the table began to rattle and slide about a little. "YOU GOT A FUCKIN' FIVE!" Her rage could practically be felt seeping from every pore, her hair getting buffetted by the power of her fury. A few of the spectators closest to her backed off a little. She threw her head back in the most rediclous, over the top fashion. "A FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVEEEEE!!!!!"

Serena calmly asked Moira to release the table, causing the Berserker to seem to catch herself and release it again. Oh... oops. Instead she clenched her fists at her sides. Must not hit him, must not hit him, just don't!

Syed nearly did a spit-take, although he saved himself just in time and ended up doing a bit of a dribble back into his glass instead. Auurgh that was embarrassing, he quickly turned around to try and scrape back together what little dignity he had. Once he recovered, he looked back to Dylan. "He... he does know the rules, right? Someone has explained them to him, haven't they?"

Syed looked at the cards thoughtfully, although he wasn't really focusing on them. This situation, Don's actions... they reminded him of something. He passed Moira her drink back.

"Don..." he said slowly, placing his hand on his bro's shoulder and leaning forwards to mutter into his ear - quietly enough to not be overheard by anyone else, but loudly enough for Don to hear him over the din. "If you've having trouble understanding the cards, I can help you. I won't tell anyone if you want."

"I think you need to try another game," Moira scowled, folding her arms. "One what doesn't need you to know what the fuck you're doing."

She then chugged her beer as fast as she could.
Oh geez, I can understand how the shouting thing can put you on edge. As long as he's on medication and trying to manage it then hopefully it'll be okay??? Idk but good luck regardless D: And don't worry about turning 23, Pach and I are turning 25 this year! QUARTER OF A CENTURY! *breaks down sobbing*

Either way I'm good. I've applied for another position in my company, although I'm still a little indecisive about it. It's in a different shop so completely different staff, but the hours are so much better (7am-4pm every day instead of a mix of 3pm-11pms and 9am-6pms) and the pay is the same. It's half an hour drive away down a fairly busy route instead of the 7mins my current work is, but... them hours... and I've been hoping to get into the department it is for a while. Change is nice too. But my current workplace is pretty much like a huge extended family, so it's tough. Hoooo I still need to think a little more.

Getting my post in before work since I have the opportunity to, woop woop woop!

I'm working late night tomorrow too, so expect my post tomorrow to be around the same time as today.

“Thank Aislin you’re here. Don is going to lose all his gald because he doesn’t understand blackjack. He. Doesn’t. Understand. Blackjack.”

Poor Dylan, he looked like he was about to start pulling his hair out. Syed's eyes flicked back towards the blackjack table (although his view was now obstructed by the crowds), while Moira snorted.

"How the fuck can you fuck up on blackjack?!" she bellowed, suprising the female bartender and causing her to slosh her beer slightly as she handed it over. "It's the easiest game they do!"

"Uh..." Syed flushed a little with embarrassment, "I don't know blackjack," he admitted. "I've only really played crazy eights, and never for money or anything..."

"Piss easy," Moira flicked her wrist. "Try and get a total between seventeen and 21, highest wins. Over 21 and you lose. Kings and jacks and all that equal ten, ace can be one or eleven."

"That's it?"

"More or less."

"Okay. Okay I think I got it," he nodded and gave Dylan a mock salute. "We'll see what we can do, leave it with us."

"He owes Whats-her-face money, don't he? I wouldn't want to piss her off," she grumbled with a shrug, the memory of a giant Marise pummeling Lucifer into the ground still fresh in her memory. If they just let him throw his money away like that... "Alright then."

The pair left the bar, weaving through the crowds to get back to the blackjack table. It was fairly easy to find it again, thanks to the guffawing crowd growing around it. And sure enough, right in the middle of it was Don, who seemed to be oblivious as to why exactly he was getting so much attention. Gods damnit it don't encourage him! Moira pushed through first, Syed following meekly after, until they came up behind him.

It looked like a new round. Each player had a card each, and the dealer was just dealing out the second cards. Don so far had a seven, and his second card...

Was a nine! So that was sixteen! Syed's eyes flicked this way and that as he sipped on his lemonade, watching everything carefully as he tried to take in how the game worked. So his total was under the minimum of seventeen, so he'd have to pick up another, right? Were they playing against each other? Against the house? In hindsight Moira was probably a bit too brief in her explanation.

"Hit me!" Don shouted, looking like he was enjoying himself very much. The crowd responded with more laughter and cheers, one man even promising Don a drink when he was done. The dealer gave Don one more card...

A four! So that's twenty! You can't get much better than that.

"Hi-MMMMFFF!"

Moira slapped her hand over Don's mouth quite roughly and pulled him down a little, shutting him up. She shoved her drink into Syed's free hand in the process. "What are you doing?!" she hissed to Don, locking those scary eyes with his. "Say hold!"

Los Paraisos: Parade
"Hah. Some fuckin' day."

Syed laughed in return, leaning over with his hands on his knees to catch his breath and hopefully cool down a little. She was right, of course. Today, while somewhat fun overall, was already somewhat chaotic. Only really they could try and have a sit down in a cafe and end up being in the middle of parade getting chased by a small mob. "This sort of thing sure seems to follow us, doesn't it?" he grinned.

"'Ere!" Moira sauntered before them, one hand behind her back. Luckily, the mask was gone. It looked like they were a bit too fancy for the parade people to be willing to lose. "Look what I got!" She whipped out whatever object it was... one of the paddles?!

"What, they gave it you?!"

"Well, sorta."

"What do you mean sort of?!"

They were interrupted by Lucien's shout, followed by Aria's short briefing. Casino or relaxing? Well, for Moira that was an absolute no-brainer. They come all this way after all, like hell was she going to waste it relaxing! Selan seemed to agree, and Amy seemed to have the right sort of idea too, stepping into the casino entrance and looking thoroughly awed.

"Uh... yeah. Let's... definitely search this place."

"Well, I'd like to... rinse off a bit first." Syed cringled a little apologetically, holding his arms out to emphisise his point. "And I think a lot of casinos tend to have dress codes, right?"

"Depends on the casino," Moira shrugged.

"I dunno," Syed shrugged. Truthfully, he had never been in one either. "I'd still like to, though."

Moira thought about it for a moment. To be fair, she felt pretty gross too. Especially her face - the heat plus the mask really was pretty stuffy. She was pretty much sweating rivers here. "Alright then, but we'll be quick," Moira nodded. "Need to get rid of this too," she gestured with the paddle.

"I still dunno why you took it! Why would you possibly need one?!"
Los Paraisos: Pellagio Casino
The pair of them returned a short fifteen minutes later, which was fairly impressive considering how their room was on the top floor of the hotel. Moira in a slightly too tight cocktail dress, Syed this time with long sleeves and a waistcoat. And Moira sans the stupid paddle! At least since they had changed now, they shouldn't have to worry about changing again later to meet up with Thunderhawk. Which was probably for the best considering how many times they had changed today already.

And when they stepped into the main casino itself, it was downright intimidating. The place screamed wealth, every surface a mixture of rich golds, greens, reds and blacks. Lights flashed from the various machines and reflected off spinning roulette machines. And then there was the noise! It was an absolute din!

Well, it seemed that everybody else had either gone already or went to get changed too. Either way, it was just them two out of the group on top of the balcony by this point. Syed leaned over the railing a little, squinting a little in the hopes that it would help him focus better. Luckily, Amy hadn't gone far - even with the crowds, they spotted her fairly quickly. She was pretty unmistakable really. They quickly made their way over to her.

"Well, where do we start?"

"Well we got all the card games, like poker, bridge, blackjack, all that sorta stuff," Moira explained somewhat nonchalantly. Of course, she was terrible at pretty much all of those, but she still knew of them. "Or the machines. Or... is that a bar?!"

Attention span broken. Both Moira and Amy were gone at that point, leaving Syed trailing helplessly behind. Resigning himself to his fate, Syed sighed... wait, was that?

"Dylan? Don?" he called out as he walked past. He tried to stop, but he just ended up stumbling and barely avoiding landing flat on his face. Don... Don was playing card games?! He... he didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. "What you playing hangonI'llbebackinatick!"
