Tagress Hospital: Recovery Ward
Moira tried her hardest to shake Tiberius and the nurse off, and were they anyone else she probably would have managed it. Hell, if it were the nurse on their own she probably would have managed it. But Tiberius was that much stronger than her, and his presence meant she couldn't exactly defend herself properly from the nurse either way. As satisfying as seeing the woman go flying through a window would be. Running was the only solution, and these arseholes...!

She could swear that needle was more of a straw though. How huge was it?! It looked like it could probably go right through her!

She snarled, her eyes casting to all the others. Some staring, some avoiding looking at her, some outright hiding under the sheets. Cowards! The lot of them!

“My babies!!”

"Oh, hi Elaine," Syed said perhaps a little too cheerfully for the chaos going on, gingerly easing himself back up.

Wait what?! Oh no. Oh god no. The last thing she wanted was to have her talking to them all like children on top of everything. Moira stopped struggling for just a split second with suprise...

Then felt a horrible stabbing pain in her rear.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

She resumed her struggling with renewed vigor, although after about a minute she started to feel a bit... light headed. "Fuckin hell..." she murmured, staggering slightly. She forgot how wierd being sedated felt like - kind of like being drunk but without all the things which make being drunk pleasant. So generally pretty unpleasant all round.

“I heard all about the Pride’s problem, Mr. Rex, sir! Never fear, Elaine Wyfoot will look after them and make sure none of them get into trouble!!”

"Haha... ha..." Syed was smiling, although the look on his face betrayed his nerves. Truth be told, Elaine seemed to be a very full-on type of person, so he hoped they'd all still get along after being trapped here for weeks. Broken leg or no, he was sure she was probably not someone to cross. "But Elaine, shouldn't you be resting too?"

Buns, your avatar is frightening ;A; actually all of our avatars are kind of frightening.

Hahahaha those pictures are really cute. Everyone is so good at finding pictures UUUUUUUUUURGH *slinks away*
Sorry about the lack of post last night guys, I had a bit of a writing funk I couldn't get out of. I can post twice today though!

I did tidy my bedroom yesterday, and I found all kinds of shit I don't know. Like two tshirts I didn't know I owned, two pairs of bras, some thick gardening wire??? a poster I didn't know I owned, six pairs of gloves and a load of drawings which it'll be a crime to ever let see daylight ever again. And there was the most hideous massive spider web under my radiator and it was black. Once I finished flipping my shit at it I hoovered that shit up aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

My room was basically a tip lmfao.

Oh on the other hand we had this really kickarse but short thunderstorm yesterday with hail and everything. We don't get them very often here so it was like wooooo!

Look at my avatar's dead, soulless eyes oh my god

Ranked up? They all ranked up?! Syed was still numbed by everything else, so it didn't quite sink in. The thought that nearly all of the Hawthorne family escaped. The thought that Tiberius had actually set them up, and then practically grovelled for their forgiveness. The fact that apparently they had to stay here for three weeks. No, no he couldn't be here that long! He hated hospitals! He had spent long enough in them to last a lifetime as far as he was concerned. The tedium, the horrible painful procedures... no. No the sooner he got out of here the better.

But rank... F? He still wasn't used to being rank G! He looked up from his ID, glancing around to all the others and their various reactions.

Moira just stared at her ID, her hands shaking. Wait no. No there had to be a mistake, right? There... no...

She couldn't be... she had been rank H for so long! She...

She was so taken aback by the strange, foreign letter on her ID that she was completely oblivious to the commotion going on around them. Not even when the head nurse shouted at them all to get back to bed, causing her partner to get up off the floor (as he had sat there so he didn't need to bend over to pet Kapi) and scramble back to his bed. It wasn't until she heard a loud, booming laugh that she was thrown out of her faltering thoughts.

Oh, Dylan was here. Geez, he really had taken a tour huh. Still, the nurse was going to give his ass shot here?! In front of everyone? Moira snorted. Come on Dylan, man up.

But then...

“Moira, I think it’s time you learnt some control, right…? Hahaha…” Tiberius laughed.

"Wait WHAT?!" she screached. "Maybe NO?!" She stepped backwards a couple of steps. "You fuckin snitch!" Tiberius' laughter grew louder. "I fuckin... I didn't break it or anythin'! I only threw it down the stairs!"

The nurse released Dylan and began to stride towards Moira. "You did what?"

Syed's widened eyes flicked between the two. On the one hand, this head nurse was terrifying. But on the other however... "Hey, isn't sedating people kind of... extreme?"

The nurse shot him a look, and Syed very visibly shrank back again. He wasn't bothered by needles, but he sure was bothered by her.

"YEAH IT IS!" Moira pointed her finger towards the head nurse. "What are you, like some... what's the word... someone who bosses everyone around...?"

"Uh..."

Moira suddenly stood up straight again, brushing herself off. "Not that I'm bothered or anything," she said, checking her nails. "Nope. What's a little needle?"

Then without warning, she turned tail and tried to sprint out of the room again. She managed to get as far as to drag Syed off his bed (causing him to give out a shout of pain when he landed painfully on his back), but was stopped by Tiberius before she got there.

"Get back to your bed, Moira."

"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-!"

“TIBERIUS!! IT’S BEEN SO LONG!!”

“…hey Estelle…”

Well, she certainly still had a lot of beans in her, despite her somewhat alarming appearance. She looked like... a mummy or something! So, did Estelle and Tiberius not see each other before she left for Vandrell?

Moira gave up her ranting and raving, settling instead on brushing herself off and pretending to appear as nonchalant as possible. Which was a little harder than it looked, what with the fall down the stairs aggrovating her arm. Still, she wasn't exactly suprised to see Estelle on such friendly terms with him. Especially not with Tiberius' words back when he was giving them that lecture. She guessed they all must have stayed in touch with one another when Rachel had Estelle. So... how many other Guilders did she know? Popular girl.

Syed watched them both, a small smile creeping onto his face. He had asked Moira of course about this history the lot of them seemed to share, but the berserker was fustratingly vague to the point he may as well had not bothered asking. He could sort of connect the dots and guess a little...

Still it was good to see Estelle more like her original self. That was probably the best thing he had seen in a while. Probably wasn't the best idea for her to be leaping about though, what with the state she was in. "Hey hey Estelle, be careful!", he called worriedly.

He then tried and failed to suppress another yawn, so he turned and walked to his own bed. Moira wasn't budging though, so he had to settle for perching gingerly on the end of it rather than properly resting. Still feeling guilty for the incident moments ago, he chose instead to remain quiet and wait for whatever this news was. He couldn't hide the curious, somewhat nervous expression on his face though.
Awww you lucky gits with your time off. I've only just gone back to work and I already want another week off uuurgh. My parents went out to visit family today, and to be honest I was looking forward to coming home to an empty house since times like that are like golddust as my dad still doesn't have a job. But yeah they got home before I did haha, and I was glad to see them but kinda bummed I didn't get some actual alone time for once in a blue moon. Ah well!

And yeah, I'm enjoying this chapter too! I'm just really enjoying the change of pace.

Oh shit. Oooooh shit. While Moira did not at least outwardly express any fear at all, her expression becoming mildly indignant if anything, her pupils restricted to pinpricks. His stare, especially this close, made her feel really uncomfortable. She could feel her heart pumping adrenaline through her body already, ready for a fight or flight response.

Syed pushed himself up and off the dogpile as quickly as he could, which wasn't really all that fast at all. And acompanied by lots of groaning. Forget Moira killing them with her stupid wheelchair thing, although she nearly managed that already. No, at this rate Tiberius was going to kill them!

He didn't try and defend himself, to say that he was never a willing party in Moira's idea of fun. Instead, he backed himself as much as he could towards the stairs again, very eager to get back to his bed. He wanted to go back there anyway, and the added threatening tone of Tiberius' voice just sweetened the deal really.

"Sorry..." he breathed softly, not daring to make many sudden noises or movements. "Sorry... yeah... let's go back..." Hugging his chest, he bowed his head quickly towards Tiberius. That was about as much as he could manage all things considered. He then shifted his concentration towards someone shouting about shots further down the corridor. Wait, was that...?

Moira pushed herself up next. Ooh, now she was really sore. Clutching onto her shoulder once more, she caught sight of the wheelchair laid on it's side a small distance away, it's wheel still spinning.

She narrowed her eyes and averted them from the others, before mumbling something indistinct. Surely nothing about how she was an adult and therefore far too old to be sent to bed. Nope. Definately not. Although it might have helped her if she acted like one before she got into this mess. Still, she decided she'd best do as he says anyway. She didn't fancy kissing her own arse today.

Just before she finally pushed herself completely clear, cause geez she was sure taking her time, Dylan was... dragged past. What the hell?!

"Help me!" he called desperately, squirming in the grip of a particularly formidable looking nurse.

Syed found himself relating to this a lot. Still, he put on his best calming smile. "Needles aren't too bad, Dylan," he said gently. After all, a nurse wouldn't try and give an unnessessary shot, right? "It helps if you look away."

Moira wooped. "Yeah, don't be a wuss!"

Poor Dylan.

Betrayed. He was betrayed! Syed just stared at Selan as she walked away with an expression very much reminicent of a kicked puppy, before he was dragged off by Moira. She was his last hope! However, once he looked away again his eyes unfocused as he subconciously brought a hand up to his neck.

"Bingo!" Moira declared as they rounded the corner, finding that Selan was right. Around half a dozen wheelchairs in a line, folded up so they used less space. She quickly set upon trying to unfold one. She was having some difficulty though, partly because of her lack of dexterity and partly because she just couldn't figure it out.

Syed pulled himself from his thoughts, looking back to Moira with a bit of a frown. "I'm sorry, Moira. I know you're dead set on this. But I'm not doing it."

She snorted. "Why?" she asked, although it was said in a more accusational tone than a questioning one. "Are you determined to be miserable or somethin'?"

Syed hugged himself a little and shifted his weight, frowning as he watched her struggle. "Look, I've broken enough for my liking you know? Maybe I just don't fancy..." he brought a hand up, rotating it a little with his palm facing upwards as he thought something up. It wasn't hard considering his nature. "Us falling down the stairs and breaking our necks, or us toppling over and breaking our necks, or hitting a kid when we go around a corner..." His eyes unfocused again for a couple of seconds. "...A combination of all three... we then collide into some spare gas canisters which explode..."

"Fuckin' hell you're a ray of sunshine today," Moira huffed, breaking him from his paranoid train of thought. Syed had no idea why she hadn't thought of pushing the bright red release lever yet, considering the thing was clearly designed to make it as obvious as possible. "Although if you ask me that sounds awesome. Needs more punching though."

Syed couldn't help but chuckle a bit at that despite himself. "Sorry. I appreciate you trying. But I'm happy on foot, and I'd rather not risk us getting kicked out or something."

Moira rolled her eyes. "You'll change your tune when you get on it." She finally found the lever, the wheelchair springing open. "YES, GET IN THERE! Come on, get on."

Syed's smile vanished entirely, and he started to look pretty irritated instead. "No." And when Moira stepped towards him he made a step backwards, his expression hardening a little. "And don't even try anything, alright? Can't we just... go back to our beds?"

Moira gave out a great sigh. Syed didn't know anyone who could sigh quite as loudly as Moira could. All she wanted was a little fun! Something to ease the boredom. But again, he was here to piss on it all. "Fiiiiiine. You can push."

Syed's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Back to the ward?"

"Yeah, I just fancy a ride," Moira said with a shrug as she sat down. The wheelchair creaked a little, but it was fine. With a sigh of his own he stepped behind her. Could he actually push this? He never had much strength when in full health, let alone now. Almost as if his body was proving a point, he found himself stopped by a great big yawn. Moira noticed.

"SUCKER!"

She grabbed the opportunity with both hands, seizing hold of the wheels and launched herself down the hallway - her upper body strength giving her an alarming amount of speed even with her injuries. Like hell was she going to give in! Fuck him! She had woken up long before he did - on the same day they were brought in - so she was the one who had to bloody sit around and wait for him! She was having her moment of fun and he could get bent!

"M-Moira!" Syed exclaimed, scrambling after her with a wince. Oh hell no he was in no state to run, he really wasn't. At this rate she'll be dragging him about! Why couldn't she just act her age?!

Tagress Hospital - corridor
"Where are you two going?"

Syed froze and slowly turned his head to face the speaker, His wide, startled eyes and slight grimace making him appear increadibly guilty. Had they been rumbled already?! No it was just Selan, carrying herself as dignified as ever despite her injuries. "Selan!" he exclaimed, shifting a little on his feet. He seemed to calm himself down a little though, a still slightly forced smile spreading across his face as he looked at her with concern. "How are you feeling?"

Moira's eyebrows lowered a little. Damnit, she missed wearing her boots. It was one thing to have Syed towering over her, he towered over most people. But while Selan had always been taller than her, Moira without her almost trademark heels only made the difference greater. She felt like... a dwarf or something. A dwarf among giants. Well not quite, but still among people taller than her. She hated it.

Whatever.

"Well, we're off cheer this fucker up," Moira thumbed towards her partner once she got bored of the plesantries. The bandaging around her hands almost resembled mittens, making her thumbs look comically large. "You seen any wheelchairs hanging about? Preferrably without anybody in em?" She asked her questions with the same sort of tone that someone would use asking for directions to a post office.

"Stealing a wheelchair is not how you cheer someone up! What if somebody needs it?!" Syed countered, putting his hands on his face and leaning back. Then almost immediately doubling over again as yet another wave of agony spread across his body. He could have sworn it hurt more now than it did then, which was saying something.

"You kiddin'?" Moira huffed. "It's the best thing ever, you miserable bastard."

"You're bonkers," he gasped, catching his breath again. "Selan, help me out here?"
