yeah I wouldnt want to begin and leave you hanging burth... so we can start tomorrow buddy!!!! xD

Aight, What time zone are ye in?
Mayt looked at Lazarus, and sighed. He knew that to win a fight against him, he'd have to do it right, and do it fast. He wouldn't be an easy or nice opponent by any means. He stood up and rested his hand on his sword. He rolled his eyes at Lazarus' little speech, it was cheesy, and he was too obviously trying to look important. He waited for him to come over before saying anything. "Don't act like you're going to win just because you have 'Angelic Powers'." He made air quotes around angelic powers to demonstrate he doesn't believe they're given by god or some other deity. He sighs and looks at Sasha, and shrugs, before looking around. He wasn't sure if he and Lazarus were going to fight while Sasha and Damian did, or after. Their names were drawn first anyway, or at least, first to be said.
Now, one question, are the duels going to be simultaneous or done one-at-a-time?
Mayt chuckles, and looks over at her. "I will admit, some words are stupid." He smiles at her, then looks at the crowd of people, hearing a voice. "And under stress is the only time I do well. but, I still doubt I'll get far in this tournament. I had meant to be off today..." He sighs. "As for the 'been here for a month'. This is my fifth time since I joined actually inside the guild. I don't have much of a knowledge advantage over him. I know you, and I've merely seen a couple others. You have a better shot than I do at this." He gives her a thumbs up. "By the way, good luck." He gives her a look. "And If I'm not here when it's all over, tell me who won when I get back." He figures the half hour is probably almost over by now, the drawing will happen any minute. With how things happened to him, he'd probably end up against Damian and lose immediately. Unless today was the days where his powers worked closer to properly.
(Work In Progress)
Mayt sighed. "Alright, fine, I'll do the stupid competition." He looks at her. "And it's not I don't think my fellow guild mates can't take a hit, and more of I don't want to get lost in what's going on and do something I regret. I'm not trained to keep my cool in a fight." He crosses his arms, and looks up at stage, lapsing into silence for a few moments. He knew there were at least three people in this guild whose magic would easily counter his, Not that it was that hard to counter. It was worse against physical objects than any other kind.

When she asked if he could teach her if she could read, and he thought about.it. "I don't really have a stable schedule to do that in, but, maybe. I doubt I'll be a good teacher though, I don't really know how to teach other people things. And language isn't my strongest suit. But, I'll try." He let out a long sigh, letting his cheeks puff out a good bit. He gives her a thumbs up and looked back towards the bar, now just waiting for the fun to begin.
Mayt nodded. "Okay, I'll have to pick up one somewhere." He smiles at Sasha. "As for the tournament, any number of those jobs will give me better practice and hone my skills more than a tournament will. Granted I may," he waves his hands and makes a mocking mystical voice, "Win a title." He chuckles. "But ultimately being called S-Class is just that, a title that comes with responsibilities I don't want. So, unless an S-Class wizard gets some special magical Doodad I don't particularly want to be one." He moves his tongue around his mouth and makes a small popping sound. "Besides, I don't want to accidentally hurt someone. A sword is a sword, and you don't swing it to miss." He pauses a moment, and sighs. "And yeah, I'll probably talk to Damian some time, I could do with learning how to use my sword better. In my last few fights I relied more on my magic than my skill, and I don't like that at all, especially with how unreliable it is."
Mayt sighs and rubs his temple, muttering. "Do we have to?" He moves his hand back down to his side and looks up at Sasha. "Thanks, where would I get a Lacrima? I've honestly never came across something like that." He holds up a finger, keeping her from talking. "Actually, let's sit and grab a drink or something, since apparently we're doing S class picking or whatever." He walks over to an empty, or mostly empty, table and pulls a seat out before sliding into a different one. "And what I have planned is better for a single person than a group anyway." He leans back in the chair, and motions for Sasha to sit in the other chair. He looks back at Master Jamie and mutters. "I know I'm not going to win, I can just opt out right?"
I both like and dislike stats. Stats keep people more honest, true, but limits what you can do. But I think the 'GM tells you results' thing is a good idea. And stats such as money, economy, an population would be a good things to keep track of. As those are VERY important.
