Current If your ears are burning, it means someone is talking about you. Usually they're saying "He's on fire."

This land is littered with lunatics and killers, they smile like crocodiles while they beat you like gorillas.

Dren was lost amidst the performance for a while as he seemed to enjoy himself. Then all hell broke loose.

"MOTHER OF MERCY!" He cried in surprise, struggling to keep his balance as he saw knights approaching, harpoons above and the woman he'd been dancing with. Glancing quickly between them and recalling her sudden appearance, Dren put the pieces together. And he certainly wasn't risking himself for the little tart, not today. Even with his connections and lordly appearance, soldiers tended not to care in these sorts of situations. He had to act fast if he was to flee and make himself scarce. Spying the bomb on the stage, he got an idea.

With cane in hand he sped toward it and struck into the stage at an angle, chanelling a burst of energy through the cane, enough to free the bomb from its small crater and flick it toward the soldiers. With the distraction set, he promptly exited stage right, the closest door he could find.

The retreat, not much of a surprise, ended the battle with the vile plant, as it was unable to move or follow in any degree. Of course, retreating down the river had put them back further than whence they started. From here, if he didn't want to cross paths with the dangerous vegetation again, he'd have to try the woods on his left. And there was no path in sight, just dense clusters of trees crowding in the darkness.
Alright hiatus over, it's time to get back to this!
Dren was surprised and blinked a few times in surprise, pointing a finger to himself as if to ask if she was serious. When nothing happened for a few seconds, it was apparent what was going on. So, with a casual shrug, Dren rose from his seat, clambering up onto the stage.

"Quite an opportunity to dance with royalty, I must say." Dren said quietly with a smirk, taking her hands and letting her head. It was HER play after all, he was just a piece to follow orders at this point.
Major apologies for being dead the past few days, schoolwork is almost finished so i'll be back to continue this thing pretty soon. Just sit tight guys!
The vines offered surprising resistance and whilst they did take damage, were not completely severed. The plant shrieked at the fire but it didn't seem to damage the fresh vegetation too heavily, whilst its vines went to wrap around Eldarin's legs and yank him onto the ground.
Is this still open? I'm kind of interested myself.
The bulb seemed to throb at the poke as it suddenly rose up on a large thick stalk, swaying slightly before them. From the ground around it, thorny vines erupted from the earth and lashed out like a pair of emerald whips at the two looking so intently at the plant.
The path continued uninhibited, the rush of the river ever present beside them. The quiet atmosphere of the forest was almost smothering with only the slightest rustle in the thick dark green canopy to break the silence. As they continued, they spotted something odd at their side. It appeared to be a large red pod of some kind, a strange form of plant neither had seen before... it seemed to pulsate, akin to a beating heart.
They reached the other bank without a scratch on them. Across the river, the wolves growled at them before taking off and bouncing upstream, disappearing from view.
The path still lay along the side of the river as the trees arched around them.
