Current If your ears are burning, it means someone is talking about you. Usually they're saying "He's on fire."

This land is littered with lunatics and killers, they smile like crocodiles while they beat you like gorillas.

Dren was thankful for a little respite after such quick spell slinging, taking a moment to wipe his brow and slip his hand back over the ball of his cane, more appropriate for walking, as that's what they'd be doing. When they found the other survivor, Dren felt ready to spring up and help her... and then, much to his surprise, she dealt with the threat with little effort. His brows raised, impressed with her actions... this young lady was far tougher than she looked, he remarked in his head.

The fellow's remark made him introspective for a moment, briefly glancing up at the brim of his top hat. Yes indeed, he bore a familiar of his own. And considering the intense strength the young lady, or Garnet, just showed, it was clear she had one too... in fact, now that attention had been brought to it, Dren could feel it... the pulse... a distinct heartbeat dissimilar from his own, but all the more missable without focusing on it...

"Fascinating." he remarked, scratching his chin. "If there are three of us that can locate this pulse, we'll be able to locate the others with relative ease. Of course, getting to them will be our issue." He continued to say, keeping to the left side of the group for protection, turning over ideas in his head that now buzzed like a swarm of bees.
The creature growled again, looking him down as the golden viscous blood seeped into its fur... its eyes seemed to notice it and it paused for a moment... was it thinking? The beast made a quick hop to the left as it grabbed the burning tree it had used for a weapon, tilting its head before tossing it at Eldarin like a caber. After it's throw, the beast leapt backwards and into a patch of wet earth, digging its forepaws into the mud and slathering it upon its open wound... it was actually patching itself up to stop the bleeding!
With the aid of the god of storms, he was able to avoid the feral animal's next blow and dig his sword right into its forehead, causing it to yowl loudly and drop the tree from its teeth. From the wound, slight trickles of a thick viscous gold substance dribbled out into the beast's matted fur. Quickly the beast flung its head from side to side to throw Eldarin off. If he kept a hold of his sword, he might be able to pull it out, or he could leave it in.
The beast snarled as fire licked up its weapon and onto its muzzle. The tree was still fresh so its burn was slow, but it was clear just holding it was hurting the large animal. But it was content to go for another attack as it made a deft leap to the left of him and this time came at him with a more diagonal swing.
The feral beast snarled again as it made the first move, leaping toward and getting right up close to him before swinging its large tree club at him, flecking bits of torn earth and twigs at him as it swung.
Slowly, the owner of the eyes prowled from out of the trees, its head brushed the branches aside as it entered the clearing. It was certainly vulpine looking, its fur covered in mud, dirt and twigs, turning whatever colour fur it had into a muddy green and brown. It walked upon clawed paws, leaving marks on the grass, its teeth were bared and snarling, its eyes bore a ferocity beyond any ordinary quadruped animal. It eyed Eldarin over with a low growl before it turned slightly toward a nearby tree. It twisted its neck and grabbed the tree in its maw, 1using an immense tug of strength to rip it out of the ground, held in its teeth like a makeshift club. It started to approach him, slowly, deliberately. This beast was spoiling for a fight.

Dren continued slinging his ice magic, seeing as it was pretty effective against the goblins, freezing them many a time and cracking their frail bodies into bloody ice pops. He caught wind of the berserk being with the scythe was shouting at them to get moving... and then promptly left them. Even through this mist, Dren could see his fleeing form. The utter nerve would've made Dren bluster and blather were he not mid combat.

Dren spied the other two fellows nearby. With the one injured, they'd need a little extra backup... as much as he didn't want to be here. With the aid of a few quick teleports, he passed the remaining Goblins and turned up at Cas' side, covering their backs with spells as they continued to move toward the left.

"What the bloody hell is causing this mist? This doesn't seem natural!" Dren was no stranger to spells, obviously, but causing mist... seemed too specific to be a spell targeted at them. Could it perhaps be an after effect of some vile forest dweller? Even he was unsure.
There were no Ents in sight, just the thick treeline surrounding him and the grass under his feet. The sun was rising above him as a somewhat dreary cloudy sky passed over... but something alerted him. Amidst the trees, he caught the sound of growling... faint but clear growling. And following the growling, he could see a pair of glowing eyes amidst the darkness of the trees, locked onto him.
The Ent reacted with a sharp rustle of its leaves as fire sprayed over it, coating its oaken body in the burning substance. The flames prove to be even more effective than initially suspected as its body begins to burn into ashes and it collapses into the grass, smoldering and dead. Hitting it with such a wide spray allowed the fire to spread quickly, thus, the Ent never stood a chance.
Eldarin is able to make it into the large clearing, the morning sun finally able to shine down on him once again from above... the curious thing about this clearing was, whilst it was lined with trees, there are patches of disturbed and torn up earth in spindly patterns... as if trees were being pulled up from the ground.
Luck was on his side today, his method of avoiding detection was working masterfully as he could see the two Ents continue to work on putting out the fire and soon succeeded. He'd got enough time to pass more or less by their patrol area... but in the shadows of the trees ahead, he could see another Ent lumbering up ahead... beyond it, he could see what looked like a clearing area.
