While Soreth was observing her children an egg, most likely presumed to be dead, was hatching. It made a small cracking sound, as the dragon inside tried to break free of its tiny cage. It made a hole just large enough to peak out of, and screeched out something pitiful. Its voice was not that of a dragon's and instead took on the pitch of a baby's, a human baby's to be exact.
Mei-qi was trapped, she tried to writhe her way out of the strange oval prison, but with no prevail. She was stuck, and forcibly so. She had nothing else to to but screech, to cry out like a human baby in desperate need of help. Help me! She would have croaked, not knowing that this thought would be sent to the others.
