Lauren saw the boy approaching and with dread she knew that the Administration had started sending people to the Academy, "Hello, I'm Lauren." she said, "The Academy is not what you think it is, actually far from it." she started out, "You won't be allowed out...ever." she said, and waited for his reaction.

"He actually licked a pole?" Candi said in horror and amusement, "That's the oldest one in the book," she laughed. "But, anyway, yknow the couples thing, I"m not included right?" Candi asked nervously.

She had a thoughtful look on her face, "So, you think and hypothesize and make discoveries about life. But did you say politician?" She found that Gustavus seemed like a leader of some sort, but she couldn't quite tell whether she trusted him or not yet.

She laughed, "I know you don't, know one ever does." she took her eyes away from the sky and looked back to Gustavus, "so, do you have any talents?"

Candi nodded, and her eyes brightened, "Yes, I love painting. It was one of the things that helped me cope with society falling apart. It's kind of like my escape," she leaned back on her palms and looked at the sky, "Even though the world fell apart, there's still beauty. For instance, the sky," she said and gestured upwards. "Painting is sort of like leaping into another world for me." she said and closed her eyes, "I don't really know how to explain it otherwise."
