To those who see him on the street corner Scratch is a muddled, daft old man who spends his days sitting by the street and begging for coin. But the Game Master knows him for what he truly is, a master thief and source of information that only those who can move unseen can learn. Scratch is amicable and polite all "yes sirs" and "no ma'am". When he needs to be but this is at best a small part of him. When encountering those he needs to he can be very persuasive and convincing and is an expert at distraction and obfuscation.
Biography:
Not much is known about Old Scratch except that it seems that he has been on the corner begging for coin since the beginning of time. Though rumor as always abounds among the other urchins and beggars. They claim he was a rich man who lost his wealth and wife in a risky venture to America yet others say he was an officer in the Royal Navy who was kicked out for insubordination, despite this speculation the truth is still unknown except to two men and neither are willing to talk.
Why you are part of The Game:
Scratch is an expert thief in his own right able to lift anything without so much as a hint he had been responsible, he also maintains a loose network of other urchins and beggars which keeps him informed of what they hear and see, you'd be surprised what is said in front of those who are beneath notice. He then uses this information to organize robberies, muggings and to keep people one step ahead of the police. He fills a scouting and reconnaissance role for the Fifty-Two keeping them informed on the movements and knowledge of their enemies while keeping their activities hidden.
How did you ascend to the position you are in now:
On the streets it's who you know that's more important than much anything else and with his introduction into the Fifty-Two Scratch was able to garner the influence of other street urchins and begin building his "Network" of informants and spies.

Am I to understand this is for characters that would be 'enemies' to the group in 'A Murderer's Game', working under the Game master? I may indeed be interested in a small role, one of the lower cards of one of the suits. What kind of characters were you looking for, anything specific at this stage?
That is correct.
You can pick any suit you wish, and any kind of character, but try to make him/her really super loyal, like to the death.
So yeah. :)
