Brief History: Caius was born to family well known for support mages. They have long since played damage control for out of control mages and seek to prevent their mischief. His parents had served as high ranking healers during the war and he had been raised to follow suit. Caius was raised in a loving but strict environment. He was taught that control must be maintained in all situations. Whoever has control, has power. Despite this, his parents did love him and they taught him that he had a responsibility to help protect others. However, Caius's intense training in his craft left him underdeveloped in other areas of his life such as social skills. It was this lack of worldly understanding, a growing concern for the disappearances, and intrigue about the new school's systems that led Caius' parents to decide to send him to Marchand.

Personality: Carmina has two selves. The outer self is the restrained, polite aristocrat. She knows when to curtsey, how to smile, and when to politely leave a situation. However, her inner self seeks adventure and to express herself. This was the part of personality that convinced her to sneak out of her house and hold private concerts at night. Brief History: Carmina was born to a wealthy family with little known mage roots. She was developing normally as a young child, with one major exception. Carmina was mute. The doctors never could figure out why she couldn’t talk, but to this day, she is unable to vocalize her thoughts and feelings. However, she soon discovered her natural talent for music. Being in a high class family, she was trained in a variety of skills, but none came so easily or passionately as her talent for music. She quickly picked up instrument after instrument. She was soon performing shows, to the delight of her parents. During her early teens, she also developed a new talent. Through her music, she began to understand how to manipulate other's perception. This allowed her to more directly communicate using her magic. Despite her rigorous lifestyle, her parents didn’t want to cage their beloved song bird too much. During her free time, she often visited local music stores, listening to CD samples of popular music. When her parents discovered her illusory talents, they researched into the best place to hone those talents as well. She was soon sent to the academy.
