Nira Seritoka

Leaning slightly against the window, Nira yawnwd slightly as the rythmatic motion of the train gradually eased her further and further towards sleep. It wasn't like her at all to feel so sleepy so early - she would need to get something to eat when she got home, to get something sweet to help keep her energy up. Yes of course, that was the problem. Lack of sugar.

It had been a long day and she needed energy. There was nothing usual about that. Maybe she was coming down with an illness of some kind as well - it had seemed oddly cold recently. She needed rest and warmth if that was the case - she couldn't risk getting unwell with nobody to care for her.

As her eyelids fell, she sighed slightly to herself. Admittedly, there wasn't much to see or do on the train. Perhaps if she just rested for a moment then she would be home faster and feel better for it?

Excellent!

She would have a few hours to spend on her own - she would be able to relax, get some food and perhaps spend a little time finishing up her work... she didn't have any real plans for that evening but that wasnt necessarily be a bad thing, considering how sleepy she was feeling. Perhaps an early night would do her some good?

Very slowly as her consciousness faded into the verge of sleep, she felt herself pulled forward by some invisible force. As if her very heart was being drawn onwards in slow motion...

The feeling was no longer surreal, as the feeling suddenly spiked - throwing her forwards with a nauseating jolt. The blackness swirled inside her head as she struggled to regain consciousness.

... what?

Several moments passed as her head swam - time seemingly struggling to find its way back to a regular pace. She blinked as her vision sharpened and the world around her came back into view. Had they crashed? That would be awful! No, no they couldn't have crashed - everything was too neat. Too organised.

She tried to stand but her body wasn't yet prepared to take orders from her mind - still presumably thinking she was asleep. Nothing new - it would pass in a moment, she told herself. The taste on her lips was familliar... was she bleeding? Her heart punded in her chest - was she hurt? She couldn't handle that - not alone!

What happened here? What happened to me?

She needed to move. To find help.

"Hello?" She called out tentatively. Perhaps somebody else could help explain what was happening. The shock of the situation blocking out the fact that the people around her were frozen in time.

Besides, the sounds suggested that somebody was moving nearby, and there were muffled voices coming from an adjaced carriage.

And that other sound... it wasn't a voice. Wasn't anything that she could identify. What it was however, was unnerving - there was something about it that worried her even more than the situation at hand.

"Anybody? Can you hear me?" She called out again - a little louder this time. Once again she tried to stand, this time finding her body stiff and sore, but functional. Rising to her feet, she gazed around. Something was wrong, and there was nobody around who could help. Her breath caught in her throat and her chest tightened - eyes dilating as panic began to course through her mind. She couldn't handle this: couldn't deal with this. What was she supposed to do? How? What if she did something wrong?

The fear was beginning to get the better of her. She would have been fine if somebody had been there to take charge, but on her own... this was all too much to handle. She wasn't injured - not badly at least - but the pressure wiped any trace of self-reliance from her mind.

Choking back a breath as the panic closed in, she closed her eyes. This couldn't be happing. It was a dream - a nightmare. She was sleeping on the train and if she just ignored it she would wake up at any moment, she knew it.

Nira Seritoka · 18 · F
Chariot

Personality:

Nira is probably best described as a child at heart - for better or for worse. Free spirited and lighthearted, she tends to be the first to throw herself into whatever ridiculous plan she might find herself a part of with reckless Abaddon. She is an optimist, a dreamer and a friend to pretty much anyone who cares to make the effort - as well as many who don't: always seeing the best in everyone.

While friendly and cheerful, she does tend to be somewhat naive to the intentions of others: taking them at their word and giving them the benefit of the doubt far more than any sane person should. She relies on the trustworthiness of others to ensure she doesn't wander tol far astray, as she likely would never even notice were she involved with a 'bad crowd'.

She can be very stubborn and even moody if she doesn't get her own way, though her live of simple pleasures means that she usually isn't difficult to accommodate. Also, while typically willing to do anything to keep people cheerful, she isn't particually perceptive to when people simply wish to be left alone.

Nira is deathly afraid of responsibility: while quite capable and mature should she set her mind to a task, she dreads being asked even the simplest of things of there is ever anything implication that she might be held to blame should things go wrong. This stems primarily from the fact that she is a perfectionist, and always feels that anything she does is not good enough - no matter the result. She simply does not understand the concept that anything she does could possibly be good enough: hence her subconscious refusal to accept that if she does not start acting like an adult, the world will leave her behind.

Background:

Raised in a loving home, Nira was raised by parents who truly cherished her but had very different views on how to raise a child.

Her mother took the world view that joy and compassion were the most important characteristics a person could have - and that so long as she never forgot that, she would never be alone. She raised her daughter to be a joyous, outgoing and generally nicer person to be around: truely never caring whether the girl excelled in any area in particular.

Her father however, took the view that she should always strive to be the very best at everything she did. He challenged her wits at every opportunity and drove her to challenge herself both mentally and physically, so that she would never struggle to provide for herself as an adult.

While both cared for their daughter, this drastic divide eventually proved too much for Nira. As she aged, she began to feel unable to live up to her fathers unrealistic expectations. As a defence mechanism she began to hide away behind a persona which drasticly overemphasised her mother's teachings - becoming extremely sensitive to criticism and irresponsible bordering on childish.

While she did mature during school, she never grew out of that same aura of careless irresponsibility. She made friends, but never allowed them to get close enough that she might become too attached. She worked a few part-time jobs, but always left before anyone placed any real responsibility on her shoulders.

Now, she lives with her parents: though they have been out of town for several weeks on business. While uneasy with being alone, she is just about confident enough to get by so long as no exeptional circumstances arise. She is attending collage and doing fairly well, but is drifting from one day to the next with no real plans for her life and no desire to look that far ahead.

Okay, I think she's finished! Enough to post for y'all anywho...

Fair warning - the persona picture is huge. It's hard to judge image size from a phone - I'll replace it when I get a minute.

Well it IS night where I am - just about to turn in! :p

Before I do, here's what I've got so far for reference. I came up with the concept first, then did something I don't usually do and scoured Google 'till I found a picture that seemed fit the character for appearance.

It's fairly rough around the edges 'cause I'm pretty tired: I'll neaten it up when I finish it off tomorrow, so long as there's no glaring faults.
Well, getting to work on my character finally.

Question - looking at the character page, a guy would be best to even up the numbers, yes? I don't really mind which I play, so if we're looking at a really mismatched party I can roll either.

Aye, I see that now. Was trying to sift through the OOC but I should have just checked the characters thread.

Edit:

However, I don't see a Chariot Arcana anywhere so I have a new character idea!
On a bit of a Persona binge recently: I'd love to throw a character together but it might take me a little while. Is Temperance taken, and if not could you put my name against it?
Figured as much - cards are cool too!
Any clues as to how the whole summoning thing will work? I always liked the Evokers, even though cards seemed more fitting.
In my experiance, a good number of characters is essential because some players will either not post at all, or vanish after 1 - 2 posts.

Better to have a surplus, then let those that aren't all that interested after all leave. In my opinion anyway.
